    Prime Rib Dinner

Girls night out and these sandwiches did not disappoint! From the BLT to the prime rib! The bread was great and the meat was jammed pack with flavor. My favorite was the horseradish sauce it was tangy and had a good zing to it. The server was a little uneasy with a large group but I think they were still new which is totally okay! I loved the sports bar feel as it's great for a fun casual night out. Will be back for that prime rib sandwich and horseradish sauce!

We visited for the first time for Arizona Restaurant Week and it was a great deal! Southwest Eggrolls were delicious, we also got prime rib which was a 3.5/5 and the dessert was amazing! They have a great HH menu, which I plan to go back for.

I've been to Famous 48 twice now, and it was great on both visits. I was staying down the street at the Hyatt and it's a very short walk to Famous 48. Drinks: They have a great beer selection and cocktail menu. My favorite is their Snowbowl Whiskey and Coke. It's basically a coke Icee/Slurpee with Buffalo Trace Bourbon. It is ridiculously good, and I never order frozen drinks. I've also had the Old Fashioned. It comes with a big cube and is solid. Wings: They're called grilled drumettes here. I get the Buffalo sauce. It comes on the side. They come grilled and they're on point. I like that they have a half order option, so I can have a few wings and not fill up. Prime Rib: They offer Prime Rib daily and it's really good. I've had it twice and it's been cooked a perfect medium rare both times. It comes with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Service: I had great service on both visits. Final Thoughts: Famous 48 is a great option when in The Gainey Ranch area of Scottsdale. Super convenient if you're staying at The Hyatt Regency. The menu has lots of choices and great drink options as well. I would definitely return to Famous 48 the next time I'm in Scottsdale.

Highlight were the egg rolls and the cornbread...really good stuff. The fish n chips is good, not great, needs more crunch and am used to coleslaw with them. The fries were pretty great, nice and crispy. Nice spot, great to watch the game and very friendly people. I'll definitely come by to check out their happy hour next!

Do yourself a favor and just pass on this place. Within 5 minutes of sitting down I saw a server snap at a manager and then I overheard her say (at the host desk), "We'll, it's not my fault." Turns out she was our server and apparently was overly busy. Not a warm welcome for our first time here. The table was all wet, the booth had crumbs all over the bench seat, and the rolled linen napkins were dirty. The food arrived quickly even though it was crowded but maybe they precook and reheat because nothing tasted fresh. The layout is actually nice. There were 9 large TVs within my view at our table but personally I'd choose O.H.S.O or Twin Peaks over this restaurant since the hosts, servers and bartenders at both are much friendlier and the food is better. No plan to return.

My fiancé and I came to Famous 48 for arizona restaurant week. The deal was too good to pass up!!!! $55 for an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. We ordered the southwest egg rolls as our starter - there was great flavor inside the actual egg roll - there was a delicious sauce inside with a kick. It had corn, beans, and chicken. It was served with a salsa verde sauce. We both got the fish n chips. The fish was fried perfectly - the batter was a little thick but the fish was nice and moist inside and the tartar sauce was delicious. The side of fries was also good - salted enough and very crispy but soft in the middle. The entree was so big that I only finished about half of my fries. We finished the meal with a skillet cookie. The cookie is thinner but covers a good area. The gooey cookie paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream. Will definitely be back for a sports Sunday with all of their TV's around! And their food was great too

Another great experience at Famous 48 in Scottsdale. We decided to have the trio dip & warm chips and the Famous 48 skewers. The skewers were chicken and beef with a dipping sauce along with cilantro rice. Both dishes were on the Happy Hour menu 3 to 6. Margarita was also great at a reduced price. Staff was very friendly and got another bowl of chips for us. Inside and out dining with a large bar with many TV's .

THEY HAVE REAL STEAK TIPS! As long as I've known my Bostonian husband, he's been going on and on about how he wants real steak tips like back home. Apparently these aren't the same as beef tips that are smothered in gravy. It's been over a decade and we stumbled across this place when in Scottsdale. The look on his face was enough. They were really good with nice dippers. Along with that we had the deviled eggs which were great too. My kiddo loved the grilled chicken sandwich. They have a pretty sweet happy hour as well. We will definitely be back!

First time here for restaurant week Sunday night - not really busy.. Deviled eggs consisted of 5 1/2 eggs.. with bacon. The grilled salmon was good and hubby said the baby back ribs were good. The BBQ pizza was a bit dry... the worst part was their service. We hardly saw our waitress and we're left sitting there waiting for quite a while waiting for our food or when we were ready for dessert or when we wanted another drink... Maybe the waitress had an off day, will have to try again since there are so many good reviews.

Famous 48 is a HDTV heavy, sports bar with terrible acoustics. What? I can't hear you! The food however is quiet good. If you've been to Warm Beer & Cold Burgers, it very similar. Of course the owners are the same, which begets the question -what is the difference between the two? I don't know. Famous 48 feels larger and has more TVs I guess. After waiting 10 minutes, I had to point out the free table to the zombie hostesses with iPads. They kept trying to look busy, but didn't notice the free table 10 feet away. LOL What are those iPads for exactly? We started some with appetizers and wine, then moved on for some burgers. Both were good and cooked as ordered. The dessert as very tasty. Three and a Half Stars, "A-Okay."

We went here twice over the last two days and most everything was excellent. The baby back ribs were $30 for a full rack, but easily made my top five rib list. The meat fell off the bone and the sauce was tangy and delicious. Also enjoyed both sides, with the bacon and corn edging out the Mac and Cheese. The house burger at $16 was cooked well done and tasted great as well. The next day, we split a giant plate of nachos which had all the ingredients you would expect, but these nachos used a cheese sauce instead of real cheese. The added chicken was nice white meat pieces. The only miss the banana bread pudding which used cooked bananas and didn't taste good at all.

We came her for lunch. It was great! The service was fast and good! We got the fried pickles, babyback ribs which fell off the bone! The BBQ sauce was good too. The Mac and cheese was ok. The bathrooms are very clean and modern. I got a gin, mint, cucumber cocktail.

Not too spicy and full of flavor. Also, great for sharing as you fill it in the buttery tortillas. The filet was seriously one of the best I've ever had in Arizona. It has a nice shallot butter crust and it was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare. This was a highlight. The pork chop is huge and has a nice sweetness to it. The meat wasn't dry either...it pretty much tasted like the best bacon I've ever had LOL Everyone must get the green chili Mac n cheese. Not spicy at all just Smokey and tangy and full of cheese but shockingly not that heavy. The pecan pie was unreal. Gooey and sweet but the crust was still super flakey. The brownie skillet was soft in the middle which is how it always should be. Their known for their frozen huckleberry margarita which is a treat in its own but it's not too icey they definitely don't skip out on the tequila. Rachel was our server. She's been there for awhile so you know that they treat their staff well. She was super knowledgeable and honest about certain menu items. I also spoke with the manager, Matt, who was very welcoming and seemed very proud of his restaurant (as he should be). Overall highly reccomend it here. Everything exceeded my expectations. We were running a little late so I had our friends check-in at the hostess stand and they gave my name for our reservation which was confirmed and they were sat at a table. We then arrive a short while later and I approached the hostess and stated that we had a reservation and our friends already arrived, checked-in for our reservation and were seated. The hostess asks what name the reservation was under and I tell her my complete name and she said she doesn't have it. I explained that I have a confirmation email and she waves her tablet at me about 4 feet away so I can't see the details and says "See! I don't have it." I replied, my friends are already here under the reservation so can I just go find them? She replied yes. I don't understand the interaction when my friends clearly checked in already using my name for the reservation. It was a discussion that wasn't necessary and did not give our first visit to the Roaring Fork a good impression. Once we found our friends after searching through the entire restaurant, we found them and sat down. We were immediately approached my our server who was very attentative and gave great service. We were told about a 3-course menu with multiple selections and I decided to get the New York Strip. I enjoyed my cesar salad and then the New York Strip was delivered. It was prepared according to my request, medium, and I checked by cutting right down the middle. I noticed it was a little tough to cut even with the steak knife I provided but the inside looked as expected so I continued on. What I was surprised to find was the amount of gristle on the New York Strip. There is nothing like having to pull food out of your mouth (several times) at a public place because you can't possible chew or consume it. For $80 (salad, New York Strip, sides and desert) I expected better. Unfortunately, my experience leads me to leave a 3 star review.

The patio wasn't packed when I arrived, though the inside was busy. By the time I left, a line had started forming, so anything before noon is probably ideal. One practical note, they take Apple Pay. Also worth knowing, they don't serve alcohol. I ordered the chicken fried steak with the gravy on the side, and it was really good. The seasoning was spot on, the crust was crispy, and it didn't need any extra salt. The only downside was that about half of it was crust rather than meat, but I'd still order it again and would recommend it. Eggs over hard were cooked well. The hash browns weren't as crispy as requested, and the sourdough toast was good but light on butter. Service was friendly but rushed. Our waitress was nice and clearly busy. Once the food was dropped, there wasn't much follow up, which felt more like a staffing issue than anything else. Overall, this feels like a true local diner with better than average food, a calm atmosphere, and a really solid chicken fried steak. Not a loud or boozy brunch spot, but a good choice if you want something simple and reliable. I'd go back. Deserves 3.5 stars.
