TJ Maxx is known for its discounted brand-name goods, but my recent experience was disappointing…read more While the thrill of finding unique, often irregular items can be enticing, the quality was questionable. Returns, especially for items bought from other stores, became a frustrating ordeal, compounded by rude associates who offered little assistance. This lack of customer service overshadowed the shopping environment, which could otherwise be enjoyable due to the variety of products. Until TJ Maxx addresses both merchandise quality and staff training, I recommend seeking other retail options that prioritize customer satisfaction alongside affordability.

Not sure how anyone can like their "election" and in-stock items, they're out of their sale items…read moreevery day. Worse yet, this store has the worst quality dairy products of any store I've ever been to. "Shop this store" on the Meijer website, and look at the reviews for the Meijer brand milk and cheese, it's disgusting. Milk goes bad in days, cheese gets moldy long before its "best by" date. On top of all of this, they recently commenced a far Left, "woke" advertising campaign, which precludes my patronage. No thanks Meijer. I previously enjoyed "shopping local" at Meijer, given that they were founded in MI. Never again, I'd rather shop anywhere else.

While I genuinely appreciate Ollie's for its exceptional deals, I must express my concern regarding…read morethe staff's attitudes. During a recent shopping trip, I encountered a situation that highlighted this issue. As I was in dire need of using the restroom, I inquired about its location. To my dismay, I was informed by a disgruntled employee that there were no public restrooms available. Recognizing my urgency and the imminent risk of incontinence, a female employee intervened and kindly requested that I be allowed to use the restroom. Despite my gratitude, the employee remained dismissive and turned away. Subsequently, he contacted another employee via walkie-talkie to unlock the restroom door. In a state of panic, I rushed through the store, nearly damaging my clothing due to the prolonged nature of my urgency. It is perplexing that there are multiple stalls in the restroom, yet no single toilet is accessible. I suspect that this may be attributed to a lack of concern for customer needs or a preference for avoiding unpleasant situations. However, there are effective ways to address such issues. It is unacceptable that I had to endure such discomfort and distress(tears) in a shopping center to get help. Apart from this incident, I had no other complaints about the store.

I've shopped at Value World many times and there are definitely some positives worth mentioning…read more The staff I've interacted with have always been very friendly and knowledgeable, and I really appreciate the promotions and discounts they offer on a regular basis. When things are running smoothly, you can find some good deals. That said, I'm increasingly disappointed with a few things. During promotions, the store is clearly understaffed, and the lines become excessively long for everyone. It turns what should be a fun, bargain-hunting trip into a frustrating experience. I was also told by a staff member that they are instructed to look up every item online before pricing it and putting it on the floor. That approach might make sense from a business standpoint, but it takes away from the feeling that you're getting a fair "thrift store" deal and can really slow down the process of getting items out for customers. What bothers me most, though, is learning that this is a for-profit-only company that doesn't appear to represent any cause or give back to the community. There are donation bins in front of the store, but there's no clear indication that those donations go to a good cause or help people in need. In contrast, many other resale and thrift stores are transparent about supporting local charities, community programs, or people in need. It's disappointing that Value World doesn't seem to do the same, especially when they rely on donations and present themselves in a way that can easily be mistaken for a charitable thrift store.
