It's your usual JcPenney store and experience. However, one thing I've noticed within the last year is that since they closed down the dedicated return counter, they now have you get in line with patrons who are buying their items at the front of the store. There have been numerous time a that I've brought in a return and they person doing the return huffed, puffed, rolled their eyes, and sighed because they had to perform a return. I took my child to the Roseville Mi portrait studio recently. The woman who took the photos and the girl who helped me order were awesome. I have one complaint though. There was another photographer there, a young dark skin girl. She was dressed so inappropriate and non professional. She had a zip up hoodie with a huge picture of satan on the back of it. This is one of the nicest JCP's I have ever been too! There are 2 reasons I always come to this JCP: 1. They have a sephora! I can skip the mayhem of Partridge Creek, and get what I need. 2. They have a men's Big & Tall section for the Hubs. (That is VERY VERY hard to find, the JCP at Lakeside does not have a B&T dept!) For those 2 reasons I will always shop at the location! The entrance off Gratiot can be a bit tricky, but you can skip all the craziness, and enter the "back way" by the Super 8 on Little Mack! :-) read more

Hit or miss they have some great sales at times always head to the back to the sighs that say 80% off they are usually in the back for each department. And worth looking threw.i have gotten some nice jewelry sterling silver for under 5 bucks Great for stocking up on Christmas gifts. My daughters plus size and they have a good selection. read more

Frantically zipping around the lingerie racks at Macy's, I was shocked that this formerly upscale-ish store had NO white slips and one tan elastic band-aid thingie that didn't fit the bill. And when I say one, I don't mean one kind...rather one pitiful size xs juniors deal hanging crookedly off its hanger! I was getting married in a few days and needed a simple slip. I usually hit up eBay for deals on stuff like this, but I'd waited too long, thinking I'd be in and out of what used to be a decent unmentionables spot. In horror, I imagined me on my big day, walking through the blaring sun in my white (yes I did) cotton dress, giving a blaring slipless peepshow of my goods for all my guests to see. The hour was late, panic loomed. Enter my good pal JD, who just happened to find herself there as well. "Go to Penney's!" she blurted out, and my face scrinched up. A child of the 70's, ol' JCP figured prominently in my world as the place our Moms would make us go for "sensible" school clothes. Okay, I did once sniff out a pair of wicked light purple Gloria Vanderbilts (for Murjani!) with dark purple stitching there that was the envy of my fourth grade cohorts, but that was an anomaly. In desperation, though, I succumbed. These days I much prefer thrifts, little boutiques, and Internet shopping to stores and malls, but this place blew me away. I had called ahead, and the fabulous Alyssa had held a couple of perfect choices aside for me. She could not have been more of a sweetheart...in fact everyone there was totally friendly without coming off too Stepford-y! I was floored. I saw a bunch of other cute and unique tops and things that caught my eye...and for a steal!!! The shoe section is also great! Hmm...no earth shoes or polyester in sight-looks like Penney's has changed with the times. Speaking of which, they have Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson, and now gay-friendly images in their catalog. In a time of rampant attitudes of ignorance, I admire this greatly. Selection, service, and company values like this will keep me coming back for more. There I was in sunny wedding land with a bouffant, a grin, and a cool new husband. When a breeze kicked up, I worried not, knowing my assets were covered thanks to this wonderful place, reborn in my shopping psyche. read more

I always thought of JCPenney as my Grandma's store until this location opened. I never really venture into large malls or department stores because I'm a quick in and out top shopper so the fact that this is a free standing store and not attached or inside a mall is fab for me. I went here for the first time on "black Friday" with my BFF about 3 years ago and had quite possibly the best day after t-giving shopping experience ever. So great it is our first stop every year now. The times I have gone to this store is endless. They even have a Sephora inside. The sales are always phenom and the selections are just as great. Oh and the SHOE department! LOVE IT!! The people who work in this store are so super friendly and very helpful as well. I had to return some jeans i received for Xmas and the line was pretty long at the customer service counter which I expected. Each customer was greeted with a smile and was taken care of so quick and sent on their merry way. I actually have on some boots from JCP right now and they are probably my fave this winter! Warm cute and reasonably priced all work in my book. If you are like me and don't care for the hustle and bustle of a mall check this place out I think you will be just as surprised as I was with this store! Keep up the great work JCP!! read more

I haven't visited a Sephora in awhile and I was in the area shopping when I decided to stop by the location inside JCP in Roseville. First off there were 2 individuals working and no one spoke me to until I walked around for at least 30mins. They were helping women with a few products but it would have been nice to be acknowledged. One them even walked right passed me and greeted another women walking in. I didn't let that ruin my experience I continued to shop however I did feel a certain way and eventually left. Toward the end of my visit they spoke to me more but by then it was too late. I am assuming the next lady who came in was a manager and honestly her presence didn't make me feel any better. Coming from retail management myself for over 12 years I am very disappointed and I LOVE Sephora but quite often I have experienced a sense of coldness or plain ignorance when visiting that location. read more

Every time I visit JC Penney, I am greeted by friendly associates asking me how they can help, or if I am finding everything okay. They are all so sweet! The prices are unbeatable. I recently had to buy a few outfits for my new job. I went to JC Penney and found very good quality, stylish clothing at very inexpensive prices. I love this store! The only issue I seem to run into is the store being somewhat dirty. The clothes on the racks sometimes have dirt of dust on them, which is very unappealing. I used to bypass JCP all the time since I figured there was nothing I would want to buy from them. Then one day my Grandma asked my cousin and I to get some shoes for her.This location has to literally be the best JCP in the metro Detroit. They even convinced me to apply for a credit card. The big plus is that it has a Sephora on the inside and you can use your JCP credit card (online and in stores) when making your makeup purchases. However, the actual Sephora stores won't let you use your JCP card. I found that out the hard way. Enjoy! read more

This review is solely based on the appliance department. I went to 3 stores before coming here. Bill is so friendly and helpful. I bought a over the range microwave and a fridge. I've been here twice now to pick up online orders. One of the workers gladly showed me where the "pick up from store" department was (straight back in the kitchen/linen area). Again, the cashier was helpful and professional. My only gripe was that they were understaffed and I had to wait longer than normal to be assisted. read more

This place is slow as shit. Service is horrible as shit and even on the phone they suck. I asked the lady to transfer me to the men's department and she hung up. I called back to get no answer 3 times and when I came in the same lady I assume who hung up I called while she was standing there and she literally looked at the phone and fanned it off lol. I went to JcPenney to find some slacks. I am short so it is harder to find a pair of pants that I like or are not polyester like I am a grandma. I could not find a pair of pants in my size that I had liked. I was lucky enough to have a worker come by the fitting room and help me. She went out of her way to find the slacks I liked in my size. She was happy, enthusiastic and more than happy to walk the whole store to get what I needed. I was very happy with my service that day and it made the rest of my day good. We have been to the JC Penny at 1700 County Road B W, Roseville, MN a couple of times and have found what we needed but the customer service was absolutely horrible. We asked where something was and the staff member had no idea where it was so she then asked another staff member. He gave us a sneer, lifted his finger and said, "Just a minute". He then proceeded to ask her where something he needed was. He left and never came back. When we looked at some other items the salesman was so overbearing and demeaning that he actually argued with me about what color item I actually wanted. I was so turned off by his attitude we ended up ending our shopping trip early. We want so much to like JC Penny but with a staff that has no idea where things are and that make you feel as if you are not wanted there at all, we would rather shop somewhere else. read more

This JCP is great! Well stocked and clean, friendly employees. I'm not a huge fan of the Sephora, mostly because the few times I've stopped in, the ladies working there had to be pried away from their chatting to answer questions and ring up purchases. The salon at this JCP is fantastic! I've been getting my hair cut and colored here for about 2 years. I've never had a bad cut, and the color is always fabulous! (Thank you Breezy!) Every stylist is incredibly friendly, and they have recommended some great products for me! Plus, when I'm slacking and forget to make an appointment, I can usually get seen as a walk in. Various members of my family used to travel from Canada to specifically shop at JCP. Since their new CEO and policy has been in effect, not wasting our time coming back. Friday sale prices not marked on the items, website stock (store as well) not available, etc. Cluttered isles better, I'll give them that. Not where I will spend my money in the future!
