Everyone commented how gorgeous and unique my bouquet was. The shop went out of their way to order flowers that were out of season. I had succulents, roses, fern curls (fiddlehead), ranunculus, anemones, dusty miller and more! The boys had succulents and the fern curls. The women in my family had corsages. She even made arraignments for the empty chairs of our deceased loved ones. My bouquet was delivered to my room at the Inn on Ferry Street and the rest was delivered to the historical museum. I cannot wait to see my pictures and post them. It was hard planning a wedding in Michigan from Arizona, but from the work I have seen from Just Add Water, I had full faith...she even offered to help set up the wedding. I would love to see a wedding that the owner plans, it would be amazing!!! I have seen pictures of the Christmas trees she sets up in people's homes and they are decadent! She even made my friends family a dog made out of flowers! The shop is a little piece of heaven with the aroma of flowers filling the air and Hour Detroit Best Of awards adoring the wall. I don't want to spoil the process so I won't tell you everything! So just go ahead and make a reservation, the fee goes towards your reservation at the end. I'm going to wait 2 weeks before light my custom candle so that I get the best scent payout. It's worth the money. You can make a candle, room diffuser, and/or room spray. You write down all of your favorites and then narrow it down your list to the top 4 scents you think smell best together to create your own signature candle. You can also make a reed defuser, room spray, or soap as an alternative option. Before pouring the wax and mixing your scents, you choose from their selection of jars, ranging in price around $40-60. After creating your candle and naming your scent, it takes around 90-120 minutes for it set. I think the experience could be elevated with a few things: An option to customize your candle with glitter, color of wick, color of wax, ability to select a cute label with your scent's name or create one, even a label maker would do the trick. They have some cute vessels, but I would love to see more variety in different styles, colors, and sizes. I asked the owner, Marleen what ingredients were in the fragrance oils and she couldn't really give me a complete answer other than they are not 100% essential oils but they're synthetic and safe because they don't buy them from overseas. hmmm.... With that said, I'm sure they contain toxins like phthalates and ethyl methoxycinnamates. Reputable brands of oils will clearly label their products and disclose all the components. I try to use scents, body care, and household cleaners free from toxins so this is a little concerning not knowing what chemicals are in the candle. I'm sensitive to irritants which aggravate my asthma and also give me headaches. I just wish i knew for sure what was in this magical potion of oils we mixed. Overall, I had a fun time and made some great memories. It's a unique activity for a date night or group outing with friends that all ages can enjoy.
