Leon & Lulu are the owners' dog and cat. I discovered that when I told my associate, Susan, that I was taking photos for Yelp. I was then given an impromptu tour that I truly enjoyed. The store is full of eclectic and vibrant decor that will speak to the hearts of artists everywhere, ranging from clothing, to furniture, to toys and museum quality gifts. It has a variety of quirky finds that I've never seen before. The intention here is almost like a local gallery exalting each stunning piece of art, no matter how small. The pieces ranged from the very tiny porcelain dog, which was about the size of your thumb, to the very large bears, that were furry and taller than me. Colorful, diverse art dotted the walls and were displayed in all different living room themes for all different tastes and styles of home. This was a clever idea. You could picture the decor in your own home. "Buy local" is the intention here and deteriorating properties were bought up by the owner and given a stunning facelift to elevate the community. This was a closed down roller rink. There was also a cinema next door that turned to a gift shop and off beat eatery. The unique history of each is preserved in the original artifacts throughout. Being that this is art focused and unique, don't have the expectation of Walmart prices. Of course you're getting one-of-a-kind quality pieces that will make your heart sing when you see your selected art displayed proudly in your home. I have to give credit to my wife for finding this place. She heard about it from a colleague and it did not disappoint. If you're looking for something unique, funny, fun, or more of a traditional purchase then this place is for you. We were able to purchase some very cool gifts for friends and family that were tailored to their personality. The shop's staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed them and they were also pretty available when we needed someone even though they were a bit busy. As for the prices I would put them on par for a place that sells the selection that this place has. You can find some items that are cheaper (not cheaply made), and other items that are pretty high (saw a pillow for around $300 ). Everything about it is spectacular & I'm rather hard to impress I'm told ;) it's in a former theatre & roller rink & the owners have spurred neighborhood development & backed charities galore besides having the best soup's & furniture & things you didn't know existed but just want. Bring your wallet but it's an experience. Loved the cocktails & the decorations on the table were antique roller skates! Also, IF you're from the area you'll remember Boblo & I included photos of some of the roller coaster cars. I love the mushrooms soup & the butter nut squash especially!! The service is excellent & I loved the hostess putting my heavy backpack on a child's antique chair underneath the table. This is the kind of attention to detail that is hard to find these days. There is outdoor dining that's a lovely space. I'd eat there every day if I could afford to when I'm in town. I never fail to visit at least several times when I'm in Clawson, Michigan. While there are some pricey furniture here, the little knick knacks are reasonable and unique. Many smart ass ones that if you have a picky friend to buy for come here. I have brought books, coaster, socks, and decor that adds character to my place. Anytime I am in Clawson, I try to make time to see what is new. Free parking in the back with a door to enter. I have previously bought a couple of items from Leon @ Lulu (which I still have and love) However, while the selections are beautiful the service was equally horrible! I visited the store looking for a few pieces to add to my staging business, yet my assistant and I were not greeted until after we were 10 minutes in the store. The prices are on the higher end -but there are so many unique pieces to choose from. After we were finally greeted we were followed around by one associate in particular. Oh my goodness! The items that we were planning to buy were nice but not nice enough to give our money to a blatantly bias business. I won't be back. read more

This is a great place to shop for gifts for others or to buy something unique for your house. The prices are high, but the pieces are made by local artists so you're paying for quality items. But they also have small tchockies and other fun / prank gifts too. The owner curates all the items and goes around the country and the world to stock the store. This is a wonderful, sizable store on 14 mile in the heart of Clawson. The store boasts a small section for clothing, lots of home decor and furnishings too. There's always a cool and fun sector by the registers for kitchen Knickknacks, books, kids toys and you name it, they probably have it. I have purchased bacon loving gag gifts to magnets for my bacon loving friend, to fun shaped ice trays, books from kids to adults, furry and soft cuddly stuffed animals for my niece and nephew to unique desk lamps, wall hanging and table top accessories. This is the kind of store you could easily get lost in for a solid hour or more, while discovering all of the special finds in every nook and cranny. Cha-ching! This huge, former roller rink is brimming with quality gifts, furniture, and a million other keenly chosen stylish knickknacks. A little bit of World Market, a little bit of a vintage toy store, a little West Elm, it's hard to explain succinctly what Leon & Lulu is until you set foot in it. I was here for a Yelp event and discovered this gem and can totally see how it's a destination spot for locals. They also own the former Clawson theater next door and have refurbished it in equally cool fashion. I want my entire future home to be decorated in Leon & Lulu gear. From a matching, custom, upholstered chair and couch, to a lovely new coffee table, and a set of vintage lamps. Oh and of course, the large owl rug that is now on clearance but still about $400 out of my price range. Yes, Leon & Lulu is a bit pricey but you'll get really unique and custom pieces here. Your house won't look like any one else's that's for sure! And still, there are actually some really reasonably ticketed items as well, including a handful of rugs that if they matched the current decor in my room I would buy up in a second. This space, a former roller rink (so it's huge and has gorgeous wood floors and skates hanging all over the walls), also carries smaller items like vases, knicknacks, picture frames, etc to decorate your home with or give as gifts. They also carry jewelry, some clothing (not really my style but some cute stuff), greeting cards, and plenty of stuff to keep the kiddos occupied while you search for a new dining room table. Super nice staff are on hand to explain the ins and outs of ordering the custom furniture but won't bug you as you spend your time doing laps looking at all the fabulous finds. read more

What an adorable shop?! Reminds me of Pier One which I love!! Lots of cute home decor, Christmas, Halloween, and Autumn/Thanksgiving decorations. They had cute light up Christmas bulb jewelry and lots of cute Christmas decorations like beer and wine glass ornaments that actually look like they have beer and wine in them. They had lots of cute Thanksgiving and Christmas place settings and dishes, and big Christmas stuffed sloths and Santas and adorable snow globes that look like vintage TV sets. The store is very large. Most of the seasonal home decorations are up front, then there are couches and furniture in the middle of the store, and books, toys, coffee mugs, jewelry and giftables are toward the middle near the cash register. Most items are kind of on the pricier end. There's also a wine bar towards the left. You can order glasses of Chardonnay, Merlot, and Riesling while you shop and a glass of wine is around $10-$12. Leon and LuLu is located in what used to be a skating rink so they have lots of roller skates and skating rink memorabilia decorating the store. Next door is Three Cats Cafe which is a bar and restaurant connected to Leon and LuLu. Three Cats Cafe used to be a movie theatre which you can tell from the exterior which has a mannequin movie theatre associate sitting in the window. Three Cats Cafe is very cute inside too, dim lit, with chandeliers and cozy and they sell greeting cards and Michigan goods inside. Leon and LuLu is an adorable store and so fun to walk through, especially during the holidays. read more

Just the cutest store for odds - n -ends type things! Tucked away in an old skating hall, this store has an eclectic feel of furniture, accessories, home good and beauty. This is the kind of store you spend a few good hours in, if you want to spot everything they have! They staged a few of the areas, kinda cool way to display items. They had things hanging from the ceiling, walls, tucked away and put on display. I toon a few pictures of items I'll want in the future. Essentially I walked away with some items I never thought I needed... like a item called 'Angry Mama' that you out in the microwave to soften hardened food specs, for help cleaning. While you're here, don't forget to stop over at the Cats cafe and Leon and Lulus showroom! That in itself is pretty magical, for being housed in an old cinema theater. read more

Having read all of the reviews and visiting few times. I am blown away that no one experienced the pretentious employees of this store. I have gone with my daughter in law, a friend from Chicago. Yes, wonderfully delightful and unique merchandise beautifully displayed However, after taking my friend there Saturday, I will never return. I don't care how cool I think their merchandise is or if I have money burning a hole in my pocket. I'm out I interacted with four different employees, each one was more unpleasant than the one prior. Zero eye contact at cashier desk. I asked if they had water and was told yes in the bar. There was no bottled water and No one to assist. Had to go ask for assistance. Was told She could not help. What a wonderful place to explore! This place reminds me of the brian child of Frankenmuth (bronners), Urban Outfitters, papyrus, and Anthropologie mixed in one! There is literally something for everyone here- young to old, infants to adults. You can find all sorts of neat Knick knacks, off the wall fabrics which can be apparently customized on your furniture, clothing, accessories, and gifts for others here! My love for Leon & Lulu keeps growing every time I go here. Last time I went here I was looking for a birthday present for my sister. I walked in the door and immediately found the perfect gift for her. It's a small handbag that has the skyline of British Parliament on the side. It was the exact gift I was hoping for and it was on sale for only $13. This is why I love L&L. You can find something for almost anyone in this store and it's not going to cost you a fortune. I walked out of here feeling great because I found the perfect gift, I purchased a unique item that you can't find anywhere else, and I purchased locally which I think is very important in the new economy of Michigan. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I was offered a complimentary cup of coffee when I walked through the doors. I was given a lot of help and suggestions for other items as well. OMG! What adorable, unique goodies!! We stopped in the 'big' part of the store somewhat accidentally, on our way to an event at the new part with the huge marquee. While some of the furniture and things that I would LOVE to look at in my home everyday was priced a bit out of my range, there were also some great trinkets and gifts I haven't seen anywhere else. My daughter would love the great dog section and all the stuffed animals. And hubby said he may need to head back for some Michigan items that will be much appreciated by those who need to know more about Michigan's fabulousness, and those who remember it well but have since moved away. read more
