Yesterday, Friday November 8, 2024 I sang songs written by author/musician Heather Buchanan and Tracy Kash for Heather's newest novel titled, VICTORS. It is about Black musicians who went to France to help fight in World War I. Ultimately, they were largely responsible for our victory and when they weren't fighting they were playing music, sharing the new jazz sound which influenced not only Europe but the world. My dress, purse, fan, long strand of pearls and headpiece, all purchased from the Peacock Room in the Park Shelton were a smash hit! She agreed to hold the jacket for an hour until my friend could give me her opinion. After returning prior to the hour being up prepared to purchase the item. I asked about the return policy as any informed costumer should. I was told another costumer walked in after me wanting the exact item I did. If I planned on returning the coat she'd prefer to sell it to the other lady. I completely respect an owner wanting to make a sale. It isn't respectful or even kind to treat any person as though she doesn't belong it the store. Great merchandise delivered with a snotty attitude.

Although the shop is small, there is a large variety of items for all Divine 9 sororities and fraternities, as well as other black business & social organizations. Black Leaders Detroit was doing a $50 gift certificate Black Friday giveaway which could be used at Tauntus Greek Store. Shop employees were stationed throughout the very busy store, helping customers, and checking people out via mobile phone. I definitely plan on checking out Tauntus Greek Store wherever I'm in Detroit.

You will find entire outfits here, that are so flattering, yet affordable (e.g. $26-$36 for many items and $20 or less for jewelry and accessories that complete the outfit.) The clothes/accessories are also unique, but totally wearable, dress up, dressed down, casually on the weekends, to work, out to a concert. Everything. Versatile! I browsed around and found a plethora of cashmere sweaters from rack to rack. I have never seen so many different cashmere sweaters in one boutique shop. It was quite fantastic. My grandmother, great aunts, mom, cousins and I all have a love for cashmere sweaters. It's the perfect fabric for 3 out of 4 seasons. I found 5 different cashmere sweaters and all different styles, cuts and colors too. The burgundy with the two cut out on the upper chest looked fun, but it wasn't so flattering on. Plus I tend to wear them to keep me warm and the cutouts would make it drafty for sure. The dark color didn't suit me well either. The gray with the angled shoulders looked unique, but made me think of Star Trek every time I looked at it. Didn't suit me either. The pink and gray vintage seamed was loose but not too baggy. My husband found it baggy on me, but it was quite comfy. The other pale pink sweater fit me like a glove and the sleeves were nice too and the whole sweater was form fitting. The first gray sweater is my absolute favorite. It caught my eye on the mannequin and that's the one I bought since it fit me perfectly. I liked the cinched or gathered design all over the sweater. It fit me well and the design is subtle but unique enough. 3 new cashmere sweaters to keep me toasty and warm this fall / winter for years to come. Service was good. Will be back for more cashmere sweaters in the future.
