today I have very bad experience with home good the one in John r and 14 mile Troy .bought a salt shaker that was included in the price and I didn't know it came as a set. They sold it to me as is. When I wanted to return it, they wouldn't let me and asked me where is the other piece and the manager was very mean and the way she talked to me was as if I was a thief. The manager accused me of returning an incomplete item and that I put the price on it. I asked her to check with the cameras that I wasn't lying. This is the first time something like this has happened to me and I didn't like the way the manager dealt with me, she was very mean. read more

Store is a decent spot for a quick and easy wall piece or maybe a house warming gift. I bought two large faux wood wall mirror frames for my master bathroom years ago, but the material after 8 years was starting to show. The faux wood has been bothering me the last few years. I decided to replace them with two beveled mirrors, to help the bathroom look a little bigger. The beveled mirrors are a little longer than I wanted, but still the style I wanted. We would make them work. The downside of the wall pictures and most often the wall mirrors, is that your often find one, but will not be able to find a pair. I'd like to mirror, but there's only one in the whole store. I had to settle for another mirror that wasn't my first pic, but it would have to do. I think I paid around $80 for the mirrors back eight years ago and I paid the same amount for the new beveled mirrors recently. I was successful in finding three all clad pans that I wanted, sizes and non-stick looked great and we're reasonably price between $25-$40 apiece. I also found a larger Calphalon deep dish nonstick pan for $40 as well. I do a lot of cooking at home and prefer to have many different sizes of pots and pans to work with. read more

They have a great selection of just about everything for your home. It is very well organized, and tidy, unlike a place like Tuesday Morning. The best place to browse is the clearance shelves. I bought some tea bags for $3.00 that retail for $8.00, and the 'Best By' date is 2017. They also had boxed Neuhaus chocolates for a huge reduction in price. My cashier was super friendly. read more

Home Goods is an amazing place and one that every person in the area should be familiar with. Home Goods is owned by the same company as T.J. Maxx and Marshall's and the concept is the same. They take products from stores that go out of business, or update their merchandise, or other major discounts and turn it around and sell it for a fraction of the cost. Home Goods has exactly that: Goods for the Home. And they have a lot of them. I have bought everything from Calphalon pots and pans, to chefs' knives, to wall decorations and seasonal items. Anything you want for your home they have it. The have a lot of glassware and place settings. They also have sheets and towels at discounted prices. If you need furniture check here first for interesting but inexpensive items. I also love the art they currently have. It's unique and high quality but much less expensive than normal art would be. It's a great place to go and shop. Like similar stores, the merchandise is limited and changes often. If you see something you like it may not be there the next time. And if you don't see what you want, it may be there in a month. If I ever need anything for the home I always go to Home Goods first before wasting money at more expensive stores. read more

I know that there isn't a maintenance crew to clean up their parking lot but honestly, I was disgusted now dirty it was.... dirty as in there was unwrapped and used feminine products on the ground. Where is the manager to have some staff help clean it up? This is a great place to find some steals and good deals on home items. You'll end up buying everything and nothing that you really need. If you're anything like me, you'll buy things you won't even use until a few months later. Alongside with items being priced low, there are great steals at the clearance rack. Lots to find and buy! However, it was kind of messy and disorganized at this location. Also, it took a while to get checked out. The workers behind the register were slow and didn't seem enthusiastic while working. read more

This particular outpost rises head and shoulders above other stores in the chain. Whether they simply get better shipments or my visits coincide with the most interesting stock, I delight in coming here. Head's up though: you need to treat a trip here like an archaeological expedition. Put on your favourite battered leather fedora, pony up a cart and your patience, and expect a minimum one hour to peruse the aisles to do the place justice. At first dig, you might not locate much spectacular. Don't lose hope. Treasures await behind the initial sweep of a shelf. You may need to dig in to the products several deep, but rewards soon follow. Rather like a miniature household Amazon, Home Goods boasts a little bit of everything thrown together into broad categories. Have some crystal over here, linens over there, and household pots and utensils over yonder. Every so often something completely off-kilter shows up, like the pig-shaped coasters that appeared to be made of bacon at different grades of crispy (awesome!) and these invariably end up in my cart or causing a spontaneous snicker. Girl laughing for no reason in the aisle? Yeah, that's probably me. Certain aisles might come as a surprise, like the pet section or the surprisingly good stock of children's toys. Seriously, I've bought the showpiece toy for my little one for the last three Christmases here -- an awesome sled, a baby piano in red, and a stellar set of wooden blocks from a very expensive German company. At Christmas, put Home Goods on your stop if you have little ones to gift, and you shan't be disappointed. (TJ Maxx, I'm totally looking at you.) The kitchen section invariably sucks me in with its deep, diverse selection of things I know I need and never find. Cherry pitter? Essential for those who jar, can or try to transform sour Michigan cherries into edible pies. The selection of essential gear for any bar, ranging from different sized glasses to whiskey sour and about a billion ice cube trays, is deep and surprising. Tucked away behind the endless selection of cute pig, chicken, and cow-themed sieves, drain stoppers, and timers are some real finds: high-end knives, lovely pots, and ramekins at a fraction of the cost you'd pay at the likes of Bed, Bath & Beyond for the three times a year you attempt to make onion soup or creme brulee. My rule of thumb for places like this: if you're thinking on it, buy it and take advantage of the return policy than trust in it being there a second time. Savvy shoppers wipe out stock fast, and seasonal selections turn over very quickly. Home Goods receives a great selection, but especially for furniture and holiday decor, you're going to fight against every other customer in a seven-city radius. This is a great place for finding home decorations at a bargain price. It's not organized and a little messy at least this location was on a Wednesday night. I was weary about buying any of the food items like popcorn because who knows how long they gave been on the shelves. I think many that go to a store like this already have an item in mind before they go in. I was looking for a vase and I found the perfect one for a great price. This store gets me every time. I generally spend about an hour in here each time dreaming about all the things I'd buy if I had a huge house and unlimited funds. With that said, when I moved from an apartment to a house a few years ago, I was floored by the massive costs that come with furnishing a home. While I'd love to shop at the neat little boutique home stores in Royal Oak and Birmingham, or even Pier One, I simply can't afford it. Thankfully Home Goods has an eclectic mix of goods that appeal to my taste, which ranges from modern to French country to primitive and antique looking. I love the art area - so many great finds to adorn your home's walls. There also is a great selection of reasonably priced lamps and glassware. For great prices - or for folks that like to change up things in their home a lot, Home Goods is a great place to shop. read more

I visited Home Goods yesterday with my mother on a whim since we were in the area, and again I was reminded of how I enjoy never knowing what to expect. The store has actually gone through some renovations--it has a more TJ Maxx-esque checkout system in place with a computer voice akin to the Jetsons that tells you to proceed to teller number 3 if that is your fate. I love that there is stuff from everywhere for basically any aesthetic. If you want a captains wheel off of a boat or a framed picture of a yappy dog, they have it. Their seasonal décor is always a highlight! Yesterday I purchased this shiny black owl supposedly for Halloween, but perfect for all seasons, for $6.99! They also had huge glitter skulls that I kind of wanted just because. There are clearance sections throughout the store. The one drawback that Home Goods has is that frequently clearance is synonymous with broken. There may be nothing more heartbreaking than finding the perfect lobster statue only to realize it's missing a claw. Well, maybe it's not that same as heartbreak. . . it just breaks one's retail heart. In the back of the store there is an excellent selection of rugs and furniture pieces worth scoping out too. I purchased also yesterday an end table made in India (think small, wood covered in tin? etched with designs) for $24.95. I think it's a deal. Another drawback is that there is no delivery so if you like one of the bigger pieces, you had better have a strong back and a lot of bungee cords. Home Goods also stocks bath stuff, sheets, wall art, glass ware, lamps, picture frames, gourmet food things, and garden and dorm décor. It really is a perfect place to find that something you didn't know you needed. read more

Home Goods is an essential stop if you have just moved or are redecorating. Every visit is completely different because they always have new random crap that didn't sell at other stores. I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the office of the person who purchases inventory for Home Goods. I bet some pretty weird shit happens in there. I never intend to buy anything when I visit, but I always end up seeing something that I NEED TO BUY and I spend at least $100. A painting of a motorcycle? YES! A turtle made of driftwood? BRING IT! A weird italian crystal decanter with 5 matching cordial glasses marked down on clearance because one glass is missing? OF COURSE! No matter the decor, Home Goods will have some random orphaned doodad that will accent it perfectly! If you have a roof over your head, you owe it to yourself to check out Home Goods to make your life a little more stylishly cluttered. read more

This place is the jam! They've got a ton of name brand cooking supplies on the cheap as well as anything else you could want for your home. This is a great place to shop for gifts and if you have some time to spend here, you can dig around and find some really really great merch. FYI this location is much better than the Novi store in relation to the selection and quantity of merchandise available. Also a great place for linens! Normally I have great experiences at this home goods, but I could not accept the fact that one of their employees was extremely rude. My family came in looking for mirrors and as we went into the mirror section we saw a large mirror that we liked. Since it would be too dangerous to carry the mirror ourselves, we proceeded to ask help from an employee, who I later found out to be named Gina. After we asked for assistance she completely ignored us. We asked for help 2 more times but she continued to ignore us and even walked away from us. I had never experienced such bad customer service from a home goods than this one. read more

But the prices are really good and there's always a wide assortment of stuff to choose from. Aside from that, it's just fun to walk around and see what there is since it's such an eclectic mix. I've been stopping in there for a long time. The glass selection is a guilty pleasure. I have to try to hold myself back since every decorative dish, hand blown serving dish and colored bar ware calls out to me. I want them all. This is also the very best place to purchase oriental style rugs. Great prices. The selection changes frequently so if you don't see the pattern and color selection you are looking for today just come back next week and look again. Staff very friendly- but the management team at this store is very rude. I go out of my way to avoid this store since an encounter with the male manager, Jim at this location. Very rude, ignored me and when I had a question, he blew me off, coffee in hand, like he had better things to do......avoid. There are plenty of other Homegoods in the area to visit. read more

Went here with my mom to get her some random decorating stuff and we always just have good luck. Got a giant metal compass and a ridiculous fireman puppet that my mom proceeded to do a voice for and crack herself up with all weekend, so, you know, totally worth it.
