We were wanting a smaller, less bulky recliner for our upstairs bedroom and this style fit our needs. The craftsmanship seems to be well made, great quality and the pricing was a bit on the higher side. The delivery crew took great care getting the chair up the stairs and around the corner without scuffing the newly painted walls or the chair itself.

Our whole living room set and dining room set is from there. Not exactly the most cheap place or low end. Let's see what we can find today. Nancy greeted me at the front door. She asked me what I was looking for and I told her a bedframe. She told me that there's displays set up all around the store and to feel free to look around. I perused around the store looking at every bed and the location. I only saw a couple beds that were of interest to me. I finally went back and looked for Nancy and asked her if she had any darker finished wood bed frames. She flipped her page and I noticed that they had a lift bed available. Interestingly enough we've been looking at lift beds for the last couple weeks now. This is the first time I am seeing it at a store other than IKEA. The bed I picked out by Durham with the Soma wood finish came to just under $3700. With the current discount from 40% to 70% off it would be $2,771. It's made of solid wood and I picked a simple wood panel board as well as footboard. It also has solid wood bed rails. The lift itself is a steel metal frame. There's a $99 delivery charge. Their delivery workers and staff will install and unpack the bed frame for us. The lift bed allows for storage underneath the bed, and the metal steel frame will provide the appropriate support for the mattress. And no longer requires the boxspring. Nancy said it could take about a week before she gets word from the warehouse on when the bed will be available for delivery. She said it could take up to 12 weeks to get the bed, but she would know more when she hears from the warehouse. She will let me know in a week or so and text me an ETA. No contact after two weeks about my delivery date. I had to reach out to the store to find out for myself after a few weeks after my purchase and no calls. The customer service was already tepid up until the sale was in the bag and papers were signed. Not what I was expecting for a more expensive store and definitely not the same level of customer service as what I received from their Novi location. I suppose I should have gone back to their Novi location since I have always had better customer service and experience there than I did at the Troy location. No word after 3 weeks about timing for my lift bed delivery, yet I received a text from the sales woman asking to leave her a review after a week. Does she really think she's going to get a glowing review without following-up with me and letting 3 weeks go by without any information about my order or any timing updates at all. It feels like good customer service is now become more of an exception rather than a rule. Follow-up and follow through should be a rule and not an exception in this or any service industry. I spoke with Delora at the billing or main desk area. She said Nancy is usually good about following up with her customers. She gave me the latest ETA for delivery for end of April. Who knew it would take 3 months to get a Wood Lift bed. I received a thank you card from my sales rep, Nancy P. Over a month after purchase. I kind of felt bothered that she has asked for a survey and now this empty thank you card to me. It feels very much like her going through her normal process or motions as the role of a sales woman at this point. A call or text to let me know what I could expect my ordered bed is all I cared about. If you want to know anything about your delivery, best to reach out them, as they would likely not have contacted me until it was due for delivery and to collect the other half of the dues. I paid half the day of the purchase, and I will pay the other half the day before it gets delivered I finally got a call by end of March that my bed was in stock and ready to be delivered and assembled. I spoke with Shelly. She and I arranged payment for the other half of the statement ahead of delivery for the first week in April. The bed took about 10 weeks to come in for delivery. Does that mean my bed is newly built then. I put the order in on January 21st. I got a call a few days prior to the delivery date that gave me a 3 hour window, 8AM to 11AM. The delivery was the easiest part of the entire experience. Called me about 10-15 before coming to the house. They were in and out in less than 40 minutes. The new lift pad goes up quite easily from the metal frame. It definitely takes much more force and energy to drop the bed back down. The color matches the existing dresser and bedroom set in the spare bedroom perfectly. I do like the simplicity of the headboard. Hopefully won't bed lifting and dropping the bed too often.

We were able to purchase some very cool gifts for friends and family that were tailored to their personality. The shop's staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed them and they were also pretty available when we needed someone even though they were a bit busy. As for the prices I would put them on par for a place that sells the selection that this place has. You can find some items that are cheaper (not cheaply made), and other items that are pretty high (saw a pillow for around $300 ). I will definitely be putting this place on my list of shops to go for the next time I need to shop for friends and family!

Everything is handmade by artisans, solid wood, and full of character, not mass-produced furniture pretending to be special. The new owner spent nearly two hours helping me sort through options, explaining woods, finishes, and layout decisions. He has a degree in interior design, and it absolutely shows. That experience is why I ended up buying everything for my condo from him except the sofa and bed. They don't carry sofas and offer headboards only, but for dining, storage, tables, and statement pieces, this place is unmatched. Locally owned, sustainably made, and genuinely special.

He also reeked of cigarette smoke. Not at all what I'd expect from a store on the outskirts of Birmingham.     Buyer Beware! We…read morerecently purchased four Poltrona Frau dining chairs from this company for ~$12k, only to find the frame of one cracked. Arkitektura has been extremely unhelpful. We purchased several Poltrona Frau pieces in the past - dining table, lounge chairs, twelve dining chairs, coffee table. The furniture is exceptionally high quality, but on one occasion we had an issue with the workmanship on a piece, and it was immediately replaced. We thought that was an attribute of how Poltrona Frau stands behind their products, but it turns out it is an attribute of the Poltrona Frau distributor. The only difference between our past orders and this last order is that our others orders were purchased through Perigold, and included free delivery to our home. The Perigold Customer Service team immediately worked to remedy the situation and replace the defective chair at no cost to us. We've had the opposite experience with the a Arkitektura team. They have made this our issue, and instead of working with the manufacturer to fix this, they told is they'd sell us a replacement. I will never trust this company with our business again. Possibly the worst service I have ever encountered. Additional background: This firm has a sketchy warehouse where orders are shipped to. Because we were unable to get them to schedule a delivery for several weeks after the chairs were received at the warehouse, I sent my husband to pick them ip. The warehouse manager carried the chairs and loaded them onto our truck in a way where the cracked frame of the chair was facing him and not visible. As the chairs were unloaded from my husband's truck less than ten minutes later the broken framed was noticed and the company was immediately notified. Again, they refuse to take any ownership and have made this our issue. I recommend purchasing any high end furniture with a company that actually cares about their clients. That is not the case for Arkitektura.
