When it comes to organization, this is the place to be. Whether it's a room, closet or any other space that needs tidying and organizing, this store is worth checking out. We were looking for small bins to tidy up our cupboards and linen closet and found just what we needed. We also found a nice coat rack for the wall by our back door. The staff was super friendly and helpful with their suggestions as they guided us to what we were looking for. As of this writing 5/10/26 they're condensing the store to make room for Bed Bath and Beyond merchandise, so there's some great clearance prices. We're looking forward to returning for more organization ideas and to see the look of the store once the transformation is complete. Keep this store in mind if your spaces need organizing because there is definitely something for every room and everybody. read more

I went in for a few items, only found one of the 3 items. So much stuff in here. Good thing I was focused on what I was looking for here. I was looking for wicker cubed bins, 5-6 of them for the master closet, but with lids on them, only had the bins, no lids. I was also looking for some tension rod shelves for the closet, nothing with tension rods here at all. I was at least able to find the under shelve drawer at least and some over the cabinet doors storage and towel rack I wasn't looking for. $82.62 for the 6 items, reasonable. read more

I love everything about the Container Store other than its prices! You can literally find all storage items here that you've ever dreamed of and many others you have never dreamed you could store in fun ways too! I especially love that Marie Kondo has a collaboration with The Container Store now as well! :) Everything is great here, but I definitely avoid coming here too often given the prices, but when the need arises for something either in a pinch or I'm looking for some storage that is cute and uniform, I definitely come here to take a peek at what they have either to purchase them or for inspiration on what styles I like best so that I can find it elsewhere on the internet for cheaper. Sorry to The Container Store for doing that, but they're just in that spot that's slightly and uncomfortably out of my budget to do a bunch of consistent shopping at for me! read more

Not sure why I've never reviewed this place, I've been here a few times including the grand opening. I wanted to get a shoe rack from Amazon yesterday but then realized I still have a gift card for the Container Store. I bought a stackable shoe rack plus a flip flop hanger today. I did curbside pickup and after I "checked in" from the email, an associate showed up within five minutes to bring me my order, which was fast. The only reason TCS doesn't get 5 stars from me is because it's pricey. However, if you sign up for their emails, you get 15% off your first purchase, as well as other coupons throughout the year. read more

Say it ain't so! Hopefully this place isn't prepping to go out of business. Only the Troy and Novi location left and this one (Troy) has some pretty empty looking shelves. We've come in here a few times recently trying to get some organizing items for our new home and most of the things we're looking for aren't here anymore even though their website says they're in stock. This store is awesome though when the items are in stock. They have a lot of different items to help you organize your life's items. The best part is probably walking through the entire store and coming across an item you need that you had never thought of before. Our wallets think otherwise, but oh well! I like the Container Store. It's one of my favorite shops in the United States. My husband and I can't get enough of this store. This shop for some reason has a different atmosphere. It might have been the day I went. But for some odd reason, associates aren't very friendly at all. They somehow felt a little dodgy to be honest. No eye contact, just look down and duck into an aisle. None of that, "Hello sir, welcome to such and such,,, can I help you find anything?" Nope,,, couldn't be bothered. I happen to know what I came in for, so I knew which direction to go. I would hate for someone's first time in this shop. God forbid if they need help finding something. Even the cashier when I was checking out was sort of disconnected. Didn't even ask if I was a POP member, (which I was btw.) I swear,, was it because of us? Love that they had someone at the front door notifying everyone that they have wipes and hand sanitizer for their use and that they are credit card only. Very proactive. Inside the store is so fun - so many different things that fave me so many ideas. Show racks for the back of a door, canisters for the kitchen, and I even bought a cabinet for the garage. I came here to get some travel bottles my husband loves. The place was empty with no other customers in there. However, the whole time I was in there, I was only approached by one sales associate on how I was doing. Honestly that is my only thing they need to work on. The place was clean and very kept up. I'm not sure what I can say about The Container Store that people don't know, so I'll just give a straight up review. They have a lot of containers and Storage Solutions. LOL. They have all different size shelves and containers and storage for food, your kitchen, your closet, your bedroom, or whatever your heart desires. I think that there's two kinds of people that shop here, the people who know exactly what they want and they come in searching for it, or the people who say hey I should get into organization more or I absolutely have to organize better, and then they come in look around the store and go oh well this is overwhelming. No matter what type of person you are asking the staff what you're looking for is the best thing to do. If you have time to kill, come in and just look around down every aisle. But if you have 30 minutes or less maybe pick up a few things or start your planning, go directly to the desk or counter and ask somebody what you're looking for or tell them what you're thinking about. They can direct you to an aisle or two and then you can get an idea of what they have and then go home and better plan. In my opinion taking a picture of what you are trying to have a solution for and then using that when you get to the store is a good way to go. The prices for most things are average to average high if that makes any sense. You can get a little container or storage solution for a couple bucks, and then there are some baskets and containers that are super high-priced and in my opinion you could pick up cheaper at Meijer, Target or any kind of Big Box store. It's up to you if you want to pay the price just for the convenience of it being at that store. They do have great solutions though, and solutions for things that you may not have even ever thought of. So you could use it as inspiration to go somewhere else, or just buy what you could hear. If you're planning on coming in maybe check out some prices online first so you don't get sticker shock. They have good stuff though and it's good quality. read more

I'm not in favor of buying a roomful of storage containers just to throw stuff in and forget about it for years. However, I do think they are advantageous when used strategically and I believe one of the keys to outstanding organization is subdividing. That's where The Container Store and spatial reasoning comes in. I can't believe this was my first visit. I enjoyed browsing through the store. Some areas of the store seem better organized than others, which is kind of ironic. I found some handy clear containers of all shapes and sizes to wrangle the hall closet. I cringed at the checkout as I think the markup for plastic containers is outrageous. At least I know what business I'd like to get into (well this or a Chick Fil A). Actually I'd like to do some organizing as a side job. It's always rewarding and satisfying to see the before and after. I want to share my excellent experience yesterday dealing with Michelle Miller, the visual sales manager at the Troy, Michigan Container Store. i visited the store to see and, if satisfied, to buy wine racks. Michelle was extremely helpful. She spent considerable time explaining what was available and suggesting various alternatives. Once I decide upon what I wanted she went on line to order it since she did not have everything in stock that i wanted. Unfortunately once the order was entered on line, we learned that the items were no longer available. Of course this was not her fault. Type-A personalities dream! I had not been to this store until now because I had assumed it would be expensive, but to my surprise, I found the items to be quite reasonable. I like the way the store is laid out and the employees are very helpful. My only suggestion would be to include a picture of what you can do with some of the organizational items. I am not imaginative and I look at some things and know I could use it for something, but I am not sure what. The items that do have pictures on the tags are helpful, but I bet they could sell more to unimaginative types like me if they show me what I can do with all of their stuff. read more

I can't begin to tell you just how much I love the Container Store! I found them when I lived in Scottsdale, Arizona and have been a huge fan of theirs since. Being an organizing freak, I could spend all day here just looking and getting stuff to organize my home with. When I heard they were coming to Michigan, I about jumped for joy! I came here today to look at some stuff to purchase with my Mom since she's not as familiar with them as I am. They just opened, so their having tons of sales on everything. The staff here is really helpful with stuff, and seems to be well trained and educated. What I love about this store is that you can find just about anything you want to get your home together and to stay organized. Prices vary, and most everything is of quality. Weather it's a closet makeover, or just some bins to stuff shoes in, this place has it all. I love it here! read more

I have been to this store about 8 times in the past 2 weeks or maybe more, And every time that I go in and ask for help they are so helpful with assisting me in what I need help with. One of them even went as far as to help me with measurements to see if the size would work for the space I had and gave me selection. For a place dedicated to spreading a message that promotes organization and cleanliness, you would be shocked to see the inside of this store. Maybe I came at a bad time, but I couldn't even move a cart down any of the isles. Every single isle had boxes and boxes of inventory to be stocked. I guess they don't stock at night? It was a complete disaster getting through anywhere in the store and I was ready to leave pretty quickly. Besides the forty velvet hangers in a box deal, their products are all overpriced and mostly IKEA-quality. For most stuff, I've seen a better deal on Amazon. read more

I had originally heard about the container store on the TV. That's when I thought that it would be super expensive but I didn't think that it was too bad priced. However the customer service on the other hand could use some work. The woman that checked us out was amazing she was happy bubbly exactly who you want to see in the store. However I walked by the different departments and many employees in only one person asked if I was finding everything ok. Which in fact I wasn't finding everything OK. I recently discovered this store and I never how much a person could like storage. There is a container for everything. I first stopped in looking for storage for some paperwork and boots. I found what I was looking for as soon as I walked in. I naturally had to walk throughout the entire store to check everything else out and ended up buying more than I anticipated. If you aren't sure exactly what you're looking for, like I wasn't, find someone and ask them. I need to write about the person who helped me. Her name is Dorothy. She went above and beyond to help me match new products with a very old system I have. It was a real dinosaur, and it would've been very easy to dismiss me, and my old product. The person who walked up to me initially was useless and then told me if had any questions ask someone else because she had to go home.... I might also add-- the initial sales person insisted that I bring everything into the store even though it is awkwardly large, rather heavy, and we didn't even know if the pieces would match--So there was a likelihood all the effort would've been for nothing. Again, she was useless. I didn't expect much from anybody at that point. BUT it was after that that I met Dorothy. She and I made several trips outside to my vehicle to see my system and to measure, and then more trips outside to measure different dimensions. Dorothy not only helped me with what I needed, but had ideas and suggestions for what I had. I had obscure questions and she took great pains to find the answers for me. I've made subsequent stops back to the container store for more pieces for these units, and for other items. Dorothy recognizes me and remembers my name. Even before This particular day that I'm writing about, she has helped me many times before, With the same professionalism and enthusiasm. Above and beyond most people I've ever seen. DOROTHY is a definite asset. And even though there was no manager to talk to that day, or survey automatically printed out with my sales receipt (which I find irritating actually) I needed to write her praises somewhere. Drove over 40 minutes to be treated rudely. Still spent close to $80 for a bunch of plastic travel crap, which I could clearly find elsewhere without the attitude from the (lack of) floor assistance. It is evident most of the associates hate working there, and I can see why. Going to return all of it and be treated better at Target.
