After explaining to her what I couldn't eat due to my surgery, we found a delicious shake that fit my requirements. I wanted to grab one "to go", but we were fearful that it would separate and wouldn't be very good later. FEAR NOT! She put all the ingredients in the cup and wrote the remaining directions so I can mix later or tomorrow. Both shakes were beyond delicious, and the fact they are nutritious is a BONUS! Thank you for helping me meet my dietary intake goals post-surgery. I couldn't be happier!

If we don't recognize the gift that has been laid in our lap, the loss of this restaurant will be on us. Breakfast today - we shared the Chef's Biscuits (wonderfully tasty!) along with the The Cakes. (If you remember Sweet Sue's Restaurant cakes then you have found your replacement). The crispy chicken, biscuits & sausage/bacon gravy could only be better by adding more & more .... Then again, if I could eat that much, I'd weigh 500lbs. The cakes (pancakes), light & fluffy with a crisp edge. There are two to a stack but I could've eaten more as they didn't leave you feeling heavy and bloated. (Refinery - you might consider a short-stack and a regular stack with 3. They were that good!!) Already looking forward to going back. Highly recommend and our new go-to for some tasty, creative & filling dishes.

I had the "Hot Mama" and it was by far the most awesome smoothie I'd ever had. Not only did it have enough "heat," I felt amazing after having it. I will definitely make sure anytime I come to Rochester, I'll be making a stop at JJ4L. At the time, I purchased several juices to take home. Anti-inflammatory, Blue Dream, and Dragon's Breath. They were all fantastic! The staff were very friendly and explained multiple options based on my preferences. The store was clean, bright, and inviting.

It seems like there's only one person making the smoothies while others are in the back prepping produce. Last time I came in, there were five people ahead of me, one person doing everything, and I ended up leaving. Today was better someone rang me up, and there were only a couple people ahead of me, so it moved faster this was a plus! Honestly, it feels a little hit or miss these days. I totally understand food costs, rent, staffing, all of that can be tough to balance. Just know that while the smoothies are great, you might be in for a bit of a wait. That's all I've got! We DoorDashed the order and the food came nicely prepared and packaged with order labels and our names written on top of the lids. Pleasantly surprised to discover that Shaloka is a food court stand in Eastview Mall. The quality of their bowls exceeded my expectations of typical food court food. What sets Shaloka apart from Tai Chi is their fruit bowls (Açai and Pitaya/Dragonfruit) and also their Signature Bowls. The fruit bowls are super refreshing and are akin to a smoothie in a spoon and bowl format. Their Signature Bowls also take the guesswork out of it. They are recipes that have already been tested. They are still customizable and you can even build your own like at Tai Chi if you wanted to. I got their Signature Hawaiian Classic bowl and it was delicious. Ahi tuna, salmon, avocado...enough said. It was yummy and I actually really loved their brown rice. It was short grain and had some good texture. Overall, it's the best poke i've had in Rochester, which isn't saying too much because there aren't too many other options. But still, the bowls are well-composed and feel more like a whole dish than a bunch of toppings thrown on top of rice.

You can select your choice of milk: almond milk, chocolate almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk. They also offer 2 house-made milk options for an upcharge: cashew milk and almond milk. The combination of mint, cacao nibs, banana, and dates creates a flavor that reminds me of a healthy version of a mint chocolate chip treat, while the cashews added a creamy, satisfying texture. I especially appreciate that the supergreens blend in seamlessly without overpowering the taste. It's refreshing, naturally sweet, and filling without feeling heavy. If you're looking for a smoothie that's both nourishing and indulgent, the Grasshopper is a standout choice. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience feel personal rather than transactional. The space itself has a calm, Zen-like energy that matches the wellness focus of the menu. It's just as nice a spot to sit and relax as it is to grab something on the go. I'd probably visit daily if I lived closer!

They offer a variety of classes and even have a reasonably priced two-week pass for newcomers to try different options. I don't come as often as I used to because I live in the city, and it's not just a quick drive. I was more active with Breathe when they had locations in College Town and at Hutchinson House on East Avenue. That said, it's worth the trip--I take a restorative yoga class with a sound bath here, and so far, it's the only place in the area that offers this as a regular class. The space is lovely, with a great selection of gifts, books, clothing, and more. Parking can be a bit frustrating, as the lot behind the building sometimes fills up, and street parking may be necessary.
