I went and ordered a Bahama Mama tea with a double dose of caffeine. The young lady told me it would have 200mg of caffeine, which is A LOT but I was looking forward to it after pulling an all-nighter. $8 for the one drink. I wouldn't be complaining except I'm 100% sure there was absolutely no caffeine in my drink. Other than teas, I rarely drink caffeinated beverages so I always get that energy jolt and eye constricting sensation from drinking a single cup of regular coffee. I felt nothing from what they said is equal to two cups of coffee. They also told me the teas were sweetened with stevia but they tasted like Splenda, which I hate.
Have you ever had Kool-Aid? Or those 4C powdered "iced tea" mixes. That's what they're selling here. Nothing is actually tea-based and you can smell the sucralose sweetened powder in the air. You can always taste the distinct green or black tea flavor under the fruit flavors in a real fruit tea blend but my drink didn't taste like actual tea at all. If you want actual tea, you're better off going to a bubble tea shop where they use those tea syrup concentrates.
I tried calling them to resolve the issue of the missing caffeine in my tea but couldn't find a number on any of their pages or Google. Instead were a bunch of posts claiming and verifying it's an outlet for a multi-level marketing business called Herbalife. I always see young women peddling those products on social media but I didn't know they were doing brick and mortars now. I added an extra star for their entrepreneurial spirit! But I feel the marketing is really deceptive so now that I know what they taste like, I think you're better off going with a Refresher Fruit Tea from Starbucks. read more
