5 stars for the all around experience. Walked in without a reservation and asked if they had seating for one. They said they had a table, but it was near a doorway and it could get breezy. I accepted and was seated right away. I hadn't eaten much all day as I was mid-travel so ordered an Atlantic pale ale, whipped cod's roe, smoked beef ribs and mushroom parfait. Everything was wonderful, but my two favorites were the cod's roe and ribs. The mushroom parfait had a strong fish flavor that hubby would've loved. THE FOOD WAS SOOO GOOD HERE! From my whole trip, this meal as a whole was my favorite meal. Let me tell you what to order! My husband and I ate here before seeing a show (Hadestown). If I could've ordered one more thing, I would've loved to have had the Chelsea Tart for dessert! BUT I WAS SO STUFFED! Everything was FANTASTIC! Corn Ribs (6/5): I didn't know corn could taste so good! I gobbled these up so fast. The kombu seasoning on here was PERFECTION. Balanced and insanely addicting. I don't usually finish my plate but my husband and I finished every single piece of corn. Mushroom Parfait (5/5): WOWOWOW. A mushroom lover's dream! The parfait itself tasted like a super rich mushroom cream cheese? It was SO good. It wasn't too intensely mushroom-y and the parfait was just insanely smooth and silky. The grilled bread was the perfect vessel for the parfait. And if you ask (and sometimes even if you don't ask), they'll give you extra bread! Smoked Cod's Head (5/5): A very cool menu item that really represents their concept. I've never had fish that was so meaty?? and delicate atthe same time! The texture almost reminded me of crab meat? I thought that the pickle flavor was a little too strong as I think it overshadowed the flavor of the patty. Out of all the dishes, it's not as unique. So if I had to pass on ONE dish, it would be the burger. Still a fantastic burger! Truffle Cookie Dough Soft-Serve (5/5): This dessert is INSANE. Like actually. But it's not for everyone! It's SAVORY! I loved and really enjoyed the savory notes from the truffle. My tastebuds were so confused and happy at the same time. It was not as chocolatey as I thought it would be. A month in advance we made reservations for lunch after arriving at London Heathrow earlier in the day. So glad we did since they were turning people away by lunchtime. Great vibe. Energy. Professionalism. Like many I found these guys on YouTube and promptly ordered their iconic Mushroom Parfait, Corn Ribs, and Potted Shrimp and Crab crumpet. We came the night before my birthday and ordered a bunch of plates (everything is shared). Highlights included the Mushroom Parfait, Beef Ribs, Octopus Crumpet and Steamed Mussels. A few dishes were a bit salty (Caesar Salad, probably the crumpet and mussels also). They bring out a nice sparkler with your dessert for birthdays - don't try to blow it out lol. Fallow is one of the most hyped restaurants in London right now, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. We went on a Tuesday at 5:30pm and it was already packed, with a lively, energetic atmosphere. Our waitress was extremely attentive and did a great job walking us through the menu and offering thoughtful suggestions. The tables are set pretty close together, though, so it can feel a bit intimate depending on your comfort level. One thing to note is that portion sizes aren't very large. We ordered three starters, two mains, and a dessert to share between two people, and we could probably have eaten a little more. We started with the corn ribs, beef ribs, and the potato waffle. The corn ribs were flavorful and a great small bite to kick things off. The beef ribs were cooked perfectly, very tender and falling off the bone, though they could have used a bit more seasoning or depth of flavor. The potato waffle was both adorable and delicious. It came topped with a quail egg, was perfectly crispy, and the Bloody Mary ketchup paired so well with the cheesy sauce. Easily one of the highlights of the meal. For mains, we ordered the flamed mussels and the venison haunch. I loved the mussels. The sauce was incredibly flavorful with a slight sour note, and there's toast underneath that soaks up all the goodness. So satisfying. The venison haunch was cooked well, but the flavor didn't really stand out. It came with a walnut harissa that was fine, but I think it would've worked better if the sauce were smoother and more cohesive. We finished with the Chelsea tart. It's good, but definitely very sweet, so you need to eat it with the ice cream to balance it out. Overall, solid food and a fun atmosphere, but I wouldn't say it was mind blowing given the level of hype. Still worth trying if you're in London, just be prepared to order a bit more if you have a bigger appetite. read more

We managed to get a last minute reservation for late dinner. The host was extremely nice when we walked in and we were seated quickly. The waitress initially came to us and told us to order soon as the kitchen was about to close so we went ahead and ordered as we had looked at the menu before coming. We got our food out and asked for their homemade version of ketchup and the waitress disappeared for like 20 minutes so we had started eating. The waitress comes back by when we had clearly finished eating and asked if we wanted ketchup or any condiments. The service was mediocre, but the food was good and unique. It was still 2/3 fill when we left as we didn't want to linger. The corn ribs and the cocktail I got were the highlights of my meal. Id like to thank Fallow for saving my american dreams of a proper Sunday roast. I made a mistake. I thought roast was the evening meal and waited too late. By the time I started my hunt, 4 pubs turned me down and finally someone sent me to Fallow. I was so excited to try it and I wasn't disappointed (with maybe one exception). The sides were phenomenal. The drinks were great. The location was beautiful. Did you know that British roast isnt the soft fall-apart meat we have in America? I did not. So I was maybe a little underwhelmed by that, but I do think it was on-point for UK expectations. And they had several meat (and non-meat) choices. After watching favorable YouTube commentary about Fallow online before our vacation, we booked a reservation for our trip to London. Admittedly our expectations were high, but we were blown away by the wonderful experience. Upon arrival the restaurant was completely full, ( a challenge for many establishments) so we tempered expectations about service. But to our amazement, the service was impeccable. Our server, Anna, was one of the best waitstaff we have ever had. She explained the menu, made thoughtful recommendations, and curated our dining experience to the nth degree. A dedicated sommelier made a great wine recommendation. As each dish arrived, we were delighted with the quality of the dish and the perfect seasoning and presentation. A real culinary delight. One of the top 3 restaurants I was excited to try while in London. I live the Youtube account by the Fallow chefs, which I learn so much from, which added even more to the hype. Didn't have a reservation. Attempted a walk in during the early dinner hours. Was able to score a table. By the time we finished eating, later into dinner time, it was a full house, so highly recommend a reso if you're going peak hours. Atmosphere is modern, stylish, hues of dark, with a buzzy energy. Open kitchen with a lot of young chefs working, which I thought was cool to see. Corn ribs - a menu staple. Kombu seasoning made them very savory and tasty. Confit smoked cabbage - large head of cabbge with miso butter and pickled walnuts. Also added the black truffle supplement for £12 on the waitresses recommendation. Didn't think the truffle was necessary but it was a good value. £12 and they shaved a healthy amount of fresh truffle. UK dairy beef tartare & oyster - tartare served with oyster mayo in an oyster shell. Visually, not what I expected, but this was tasty and clean. Burrata - fresh burrata served with caramelized onions and chili dressing. An okay dish but felt it was a bit one note and a bit oily Smoked cod's head - their most popular dish. Huge cod head served with house made sriracha sauce and leek oil. Really tasty and generous portion, however, the flavor did start to get old after a while due to how big it was and not having a contrasting flavor to cut it. Overall, I can see why this is one of London's hottest restaurants. They do their sauces VERY well and that's why basically every dish has some form of unique sauce. However, I found that sometimes, this became overwhelming as a lot of the flavors were stronger. For two people, I would probably cut the burrata and find a different dish that was more fresh and bright, just to contrast the flavors. read more

The food was good, not great. The service was bad. 2pm Tuesday. Set lunch. Wine came after starter was finished, and I had to ask for it. Salad and main came together nearly an hour later. Woman next to me was concerned and flagged down a server to ask where my lunch was. Tart took another 30 minutes and a second glass of wine was forgotten until I asked for it, again. I have to say that Fallow is quite overrated, mainly because the portion sizes are just too small to justify the prices and while the food was not bad at all, it also wasn't as good as expected. I got the Royale with Cheese, which was a croissant sandwich with egg and bacon. It was sort of the quality you could get if you just put these ingredients together at home, and the croissant was a bit tough as opposed to fluffy. It was also 16 GBP for a portion that I would consider 50% of a proper meal. The environment is quite nice though, with dark-colored, modern decor, including some plants hanging from the ceiling. Our waitress was very friendly and the service speed was okay. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but still not one that I would really want to have again, especially given the alternatives in the area. read more

We weren't able to get reservations for their famed Sunday roast, but decided to try their regular menu during the week. It was a rainy late lunch on a cold day and although we had reservations we were seated at a table near their side door. Every time someone opened it, we were met with a blast of cold wind. We asked to move, which they kindly accommodated us and moved us by the front door, which had the same result. In addition, once we were moved, we were ignored and it took forever to have a new server realize we were there to take our order. We all went for the pre fixe menu. One had the burrata in chili and onion, and two of us had the upcharged potted shrimp and crab on a crumpet. The burrata was completely overpowered by the chili. The shrimp and crab was not very flavourful and the crumpet had the consistency of a soggy sponge - no crispy edges. Hugely disappointing. Second course one had the burger. A tiny plate the exact size of the burger. No other accompaniments. (We ordered the fries on the side for an additional £7). We were expecting an amazing burger - it was not. It was a plain smash burger that was blackened on the outside and raw in the middle. The others got the mussels in the flamed bacon butter sauce - but it tasted like mussels in a French onion soup without the excitement of the cheese. The mussels themselves were plump, fresh and briny, but the sauce was salty and did not compliment them. They were lying on another soggy salty bread. Obviously, a theme here. Desserts were forgettable and boring. For the hype and price (which I was willing to pay), I do not feel that we got the experience we were promised, nor do I think it was worth the expense. It was a horrible meal and we were all disappointed. They also add a 15% gratuity, where most restaurants in London add about 12% service charge. When I opted to give them 12%, due to the wait time between servers turning up at our table and wind chill factor, a staff member sought out to embarrass me for it. I would not return here. Save your money. There are many other amazing places in London to go! read more

The ambience is dark and chic modern. The lighting is really cool and the energy is high with every detail clearly thought out. Service was great for the moment we walked in. Some of the staff are quite serious but still very accommodating. There was a lady who kindly swapped out a drink that wasn't up to our expectations. She did not crack a smile at all and was not seemingly warm but again very willing to offer a new option. The presentation of the food was all quite beautiful and I have to say the videos on Instagram really wet my appetite for this culinary adventure. The cabbage with the black garlic and miso butter was insanely good, and the venison tartare was unlike anything I've ever had. The duck was not my favorite as I prefer a more rendered breast but the flavor combos were well thought out and again the presentation was beautiful. The back of my husbands chair was to the bar and he got bumped into at least ten times during the meal. Not very relaxing! We came here specifically for the Sunday roast. The meat, which is supposedly the star of the show, was disappointing! Not high quality, very tough to cut and chewy. Also a small portion size. From a pop-up to this fill house restaurant with red leather banquettes, marble counters and, an open kitchen, personally I think the best seats in the house is the chef table. The dish that has garnered most attention and which will split the crowd is the cod's head with sriracha butter sauce. It's as described: a cod's head, the bit of the fish that might otherwise be thrown away, eye intact, slow-grilled until the skin has taken on a sweet chewiness, then drenched in a tangerine-coloured sauce with the light kick of chilli and garlic. I definitely pick around to find every bite of the meat - not just the cheeks, The sriracha could have over powered the sweet flavors of the cheek. I would come back to order the lamb chop on the menu that looked delicious. Something for next time! It was our first visit and, although we arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation, the hostess gave us a new reservation and seated us promptly in a quiet corner of the bar area. Our server Jordan provided excellent service and helped us navigate the menu choices. We loved everything we ordered, but the most memorable items were the corn ribs, mussels, sirloin steak, and especially the yummy desserts recommended by Jordan. We did our research on the menu before going so we can anticipate the portion and cost. It shocked us how some dishes costs so much with just a few things but it's becoming the new norm nowadays. The restaurant was very busy which is not surprising considering how fully booked it always is. The tables are very close to each other so you don't really get too comfortable. However, the service was nice. Food is splendid. Unlike a lot of other over hyped and overpriced restaurants, the food here actually tastes really good. We visited over Christmas and it was the highlight of our trip. We ordered way more food than we could eat, but we wanted to try as much as we could. The corn ribs were ridiculously delicious, I couldn't stop eating them. We also had the pigs head, which is more than enough for 5 people (and we were only 2!) The presentation is great, the taste is off-the-charts, don't miss it (and you'll have lots of leftovers to take home). The staff is so friendly and helpful, and a special shout-out to Terrence who greeted us at the door and chatted with us while we waited to be seated. I've seen a lot of good stuff from the Fallow team online and was excited to try it out. We visited between Christmas and New Year but even so the service was very muddled. Dishes we didn't order brought to our table, one dish forgotten about entirely. The decor is decent but on a Saturday night it was weirdly dirty. They've got these big glass lights hanging from the ceiling and they were covered in greasy finger prints and kinda gross to look at. Oysters were fine. The house made sriracha is much too thick and overwhelms as a texture despite not having a great deal of flavour. Corn ribs were very good. The cod head was totally underwhelming. Not especially precisely cooked -- it was edible and tender but like other dishes had very little flavour. The thing comes with what amounts to buffalo sauce and nothing else which is a shame as it looks charred and delicious. They kindly sent some fries from the kitchen which were well-seasoned but soft and mealy without much crisp. Service was rapid (forgotten and extraneous dishes notwithstanding) and drinks arrived quickly, but overall it was pretty weak. Next time I'm in London I'll give it another go outside of the festive period and see if that improves things. However their YouTube channel is great (although don't expect the ingredients they list in the description to match the video!). read more

The food was delightful ! The service was excellent . The flavors of the corn ribs was incredible. Very addictive. The mushroom parfait exploding with flavor and so delicate to the palate. The ribs were scrumptious and the cauliflower had a wonderful Indian spice flavor . To top it off, the corn ice cream and the rice mousse were light and so refreshing . The strawberries go so well with the rice mousse and the crunchy caramelized corn flakes on the soft serve corn ice cream was a lovely contrast. We highly recommend this wonderful restaurant !
