This was on the list of restaurants to try. I'm glad I did we did a walk in with no reservations and was seated outside. They offered a blanket to keep me warm and also a purse holder. They were very accommodating. Started with some drinks and then ordered the following: -mushroom parfait: was rich and creamy it was delicious -corn ribs: every bite tender and charred and well flavored I enjoyed the seasoning -bluefin tuna crudo: the tuna was rich and clean and the sauce and the peanuts added some nice flavor and texture to each bite -Lastly the cod head with chef special spicy sauce I wish I asked for lime and rice to compliment and complete the dish but it was tasty.
This restaurant was just half a block from our hotel, so we decided to walk over for lunch. We were able to get an outdoor table right away with no wait. Even on a lunch around 2 p.m., the restaurant was buzzing with diners, creating a lively atmosphere. We ordered the Mushroom Parfait, Leek Caesar Salad, and the Sunday Roasts: Dairy Cow Rump and Rolled Pork Belly. The Mushroom Parfait was smooth, creamy, and had a subtle sweetness that paired beautifully with the toast. The only downside was that the toast wasn't quite crunchy enough, which took away from an otherwise delicious starter. The Leek Caesar Salad came with lettuce, radicchio, anchovy dressing, smoked bacon, and a large, paper-thin crouton. Surprisingly, we couldn't really taste the anchovy in the dressing, but the smoked bacon was excellent thick, chunky pieces with just the right amount of saltiness. The oversized crouton was fun to crack into smaller pieces before eating. I'd never had such thin slices of lemon served in a salad before, but they actually worked really well. Every bite had a nice balance of flavors and textures: salty bacon, crisp lettuce, slightly bitter radicchio, bright acidity from the lemon, crunchy croutons, and a light, creamy dressing. I just wish they had been a little more generous with the dressing that would have made it perfect. The Rolled Pork Belly was the highlight of the meal. It had beautiful alternating layers of tender lean meat and rich fat, topped with wonderfully crispy crackling. It was served with a sweet orange jelly that had a soft, pudding-like texture, pairing beautifully with the pork and adding just enough sweetness without making the dish feel too heavy. It was rich, flavorful, and surprisingly not overly filling. Unfortunately, the Dairy Cow Rump was a huge disappointment. The meat was incredibly tough and almost impossible to chew. Even after cutting it into small pieces, we ended up having to swallow some of it because it simply wouldn't break down. It definitely wasn't what we expected from a Sunday roast. Service was a bit of a mixed experience. Our first two starters arrived within about 10 minutes, but after that we waited over half an hour for our main courses. Considering it was already around 2:00 p.m., that was a very long wait, and we spent most of the time just sitting at our table wondering when our food would arrive. The server who initially took care of us was warm and friendly, but once another staff member took over, he never came back to check on us or update us about the delay. :(
Lovely dinner spot, conveniently located to grab a bite to eat before a show. We didn't have any expectations since our hotel concierge booked us here. The menu was pleasantly surprising, definitely unique and chef driven. We got the burrata, Cesar salad, and the beef ribs. The Cesar salad was one of the best I have had and the beef ribs melted in your mouth. The burrata was good, but not necessarily my favorite flavor combination. Service was lovely and we did grab the Chelsea tart for dessert. Our server described it as like a butterscotch candy and honestly that was spot on.
While the flavor of the food was great and my server was fabulous I believe this place is actually a victim of its own success. On arrival I was about 10 minutes early and stated my name for the reservation. I was promptly seated but the hostess seamed a little annoyed I was there early. Mind you I didn't ask to be seated early I just checked it. My server was amazing. He had a great personality and made me feel welcome. This is where I comment a victim on their own success. I was sat at the bar and he was extremely busy but the restaurant was only about 3/4 full at the time. So during that time I had to waited a longer than expected time to place my order and once I was finished it took a long time to be able to pay. I did have one food item related issue. I saw a hair on one of my potatoes on the Sunday roast. While my server was attentive and apologetic and promptly went to get it fixed.;I saw the kitchen staff making fun of it pointing to their hairnets. While they may have been trying to say it wasn't me it seemed more looked like they were saying it couldn't be because we are wearing g hairnets. However, I was brought out what I believe was a new set of sides. Unfortunately they were now cooked beyond recognition. It was hard to get a fork and knife through them but with a little gravy they softened right up. However, the original set I received looked perfect! The ambiance is great inside it is vibrant with a lot of energy. Again the food and the flavors were. I just hope the restaurant and try to figure out the best customer to server ratio either by eliminating a few seats or bringing in another couple staff members.
5 stars for the all around experience. Walked in without a reservation and asked if they had seating for one. They said they had a table, but it was near a doorway and it could get breezy. I accepted and was seated right away. I hadn't eaten much all day as I was mid-travel so ordered an Atlantic pale ale, whipped cod's roe, smoked beef ribs and mushroom parfait. Everything was wonderful, but my two favorites were the cod's roe and ribs. The mushroom parfait had a strong fish flavor that hubby would've loved. The place is busy and has the decor of a nicer bar/restaurant. Shout out to the girl working the section I was seated in, she was attentive to every table and communicative. Wish I would've got her name.
A month in advance we made reservations for lunch after arriving at London Heathrow earlier in the day. So glad we did since they were turning people away by lunchtime. Great vibe. Energy. Professionalism. Like many I found these guys on YouTube and promptly ordered their iconic Mushroom Parfait, Corn Ribs, and Potted Shrimp and Crab crumpet. All were excellent with the parfait stealing the show. Unbelievablly decadent without a trace of liver found in protein based paté. Mmmmm! A great find in the Picadilly Circus area, a breeze to walk from the Tube, and a wonderful way to spend a layover while on our way to Egypt. Has my "Give 'em a Whirl" meter making reservations for a return trip. No brainer, go here!
Just came for dessert, really good pie 10:10 The other yellow thing was good but yea get the pie absolutely killer. Only went cause they are well known on social media, check them out on their page ig or YouTube
Great spot. The food was perfect. The execution of each dish was spot on. We follow the chefs on YouTube and it peaked our interest so on our kids spring break we decided to try it out. We are so glad we did. The mushroom parfait and corn ribs were absolutely amazing. Unlike anything we have ever had before. The smoked cod's head while good was the weakest for us. Their homemade sriracha sauce made it. The tandoori cauliflower blew us away. A ton of flavor! The deserts we had were the cookie dough parfait and the apple crumble which are both excellent. The kids had the ribs which it is a single rib. They ate them and made order another order of corn ribs.
Walked in and saw several tables available and the hostess told me and my date that they only have the table in the walk way entrance available for us because we looked at the menu first and walked to another restaurant to view their menu, despite there being several two seater table tops available for us. We of course rejected their offer and went to another establishment. Really weird service. Wouldn't recommend.
Fallow is one of the most hyped restaurants in London right now, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. We went on a Tuesday at 5:30pm and it was already packed, with a lively, energetic atmosphere. Our waitress was extremely attentive and did a great job walking us through the menu and offering thoughtful suggestions. The tables are set pretty close together, though, so it can feel a bit intimate depending on your comfort level. One thing to note is that portion sizes aren't very large. We ordered three starters, two mains, and a dessert to share between two people, and we could probably have eaten a little more. We started with the corn ribs, beef ribs, and the potato waffle. The corn ribs were flavorful and a great small bite to kick things off. The beef ribs were cooked perfectly, very tender and falling off the bone, though they could have used a bit more seasoning or depth of flavor. The potato waffle was both adorable and delicious. It came topped with a quail egg, was perfectly crispy, and the Bloody Mary ketchup paired so well with the cheesy sauce. Easily one of the highlights of the meal. For mains, we ordered the flamed mussels and the venison haunch. I loved the mussels. The sauce was incredibly flavorful with a slight sour note, and there's toast underneath that soaks up all the goodness. So satisfying. The venison haunch was cooked well, but the flavor didn't really stand out. It came with a walnut harissa that was fine, but I think it would've worked better if the sauce were smoother and more cohesive. We finished with the Chelsea tart. It's good, but definitely very sweet, so you need to eat it with the ice cream to balance it out. Overall, solid food and a fun atmosphere, but I wouldn't say it was mind blowing given the level of hype. Still worth trying if you're in London, just be prepared to order a bit more if you have a bigger appetite.
THE FOOD WAS SOOO GOOD HERE! From my whole trip, this meal as a whole was my favorite meal. Let me tell you what to order! My husband and I ate here before seeing a show (Hadestown). What a perfect date! We ordered: corn ribs, mushroom parfait, smoked cod's head, dairy cow burger, fries with kombu seasoning, and truffle cookie dough soft-serve. What a delicious meal! If I could've ordered one more thing, I would've loved to have had the Chelsea Tart for dessert! BUT I WAS SO STUFFED! Everything was FANTASTIC! Corn Ribs (6/5): I didn't know corn could taste so good! I gobbled these up so fast. The kombu seasoning on here was PERFECTION. Balanced and insanely addicting. I don't usually finish my plate but my husband and I finished every single piece of corn. Mushroom Parfait (5/5): WOWOWOW. A mushroom lover's dream! The parfait itself tasted like a super rich mushroom cream cheese? It was SO good. It wasn't too intensely mushroom-y and the parfait was just insanely smooth and silky. The grilled bread was the perfect vessel for the parfait. And if you ask (and sometimes even if you don't ask), they'll give you extra bread! Smoked Cod's Head (5/5): A very cool menu item that really represents their concept. I've never had fish that was so meaty?? and delicate atthe same time! The texture almost reminded me of crab meat? I know that's insane to say! But the cod was slightly sweet and meaty and just sooo good. A really wonderful dish! Good for more people! It was a lot to finish between the two of us. Dairy Cow Burger with Fries (4.5/5): A really great burger! THE FRIES WITH THE KOMBU SEASONING WERE SO YUMMY AND ADDICTING! The kombu seasoning is truly a star here and those fries were fantastic. The burger was really good (don't get me wrong)! But I'm from California and feel like we have equally good (if not better) burgers in the states. Meat quality was fantastic! I thought that the pickle flavor was a little too strong as I think it overshadowed the flavor of the patty. Out of all the dishes, it's not as unique. So if I had to pass on ONE dish, it would be the burger. Still a fantastic burger! Truffle Cookie Dough Soft-Serve (5/5): This dessert is INSANE. Like actually. But it's not for everyone! It's SAVORY! I loved and really enjoyed the savory notes from the truffle. My tastebuds were so confused and happy at the same time. It was not as chocolatey as I thought it would be. In fact, chocolate had very little to do with the dessert. The star was the truffle. I would've loved more chocolate (either as a sauce or as chocolate chips or if there was more chocolate in the cookie dough), but perhaps that's because I was craving chocolate. A unique and memorable dessert! A fantastic meal! If I ever go back to London, I will absolutely come back to Fallow again.
We managed to get a last minute reservation for late dinner. The host was extremely nice when we walked in and we were seated quickly. The waitress initially came to us and told us to order soon as the kitchen was about to close so we went ahead and ordered as we had looked at the menu before coming. We got our food out and asked for their homemade version of ketchup and the waitress disappeared for like 20 minutes so we had started eating. The waitress comes back by when we had clearly finished eating and asked if we wanted ketchup or any condiments. The service was mediocre, but the food was good and unique. It was still 2/3 fill when we left as we didn't want to linger. The corn ribs and the cocktail I got were the highlights of my meal. I would have given this place a 4 or 5 star if the waitress had been a little more helpful and friendly.
Really lively atmosphere at this restaurant. Service is nice as well, but there were some large gaps in between dishes. We came the night before my birthday and ordered a bunch of plates (everything is shared). Highlights included the Mushroom Parfait, Beef Ribs, Octopus Crumpet and Steamed Mussels. A few dishes were a bit salty (Caesar Salad, probably the crumpet and mussels also). They bring out a nice sparkler with your dessert for birthdays - don't try to blow it out lol. Anyway, overall great sharing menu for parties but somewhat inconsistent service. Service charge is included already.
I've been a big fan of these guys on their YouTube channel for years. These guys bring experience from having worked with Heston Blumenthal before opening Fallow. I was very excited to try the restaurant during a recent trip to London. They didn't disappoint! We had so many dishes including their iconic mushroom parfait, corn ribs, smoked cod's head, smoked beef ribs, rib eye steak, filet steak, and the fallow burger. We enjoyed everything but the standard dishes were the mushroom parfait, filet steak, and the smoked cod's head. I felt all of those three dishes were of very high quality, well executed and interesting. The atmosphere is modern, premium, but not stuffy at all. The service was very attentive, friendly and also unpretentious. As a Canadian travelling to London, the exchange rate doesn't help. But the pricing really wasn't too bad considering the amount of food and quality and service. I will consider that we got good value for the price and I would highly recommend checking out Fallow if you're in London. read more

Had to see what all the hype was about. All these big YouTube food influencers going to this restaurant in SOHO. Came for an early lunch on Saturday. Didn't realize their actual menu does not start until noon - had a brunch menu instead. Inviting environment with an open kitchen with seating around it. Also a great patio. Had chicken and waffles. Nice taste! Hash browns on the side were great. Pricing was on par for London. Will give it another try if ever back in London! read more

Walked in and saw several tables available and the hostess told me and my date that they only have the table in the walk way entrance available for us because we looked at the menu first and walked to another restaurant to view their menu, despite there being several two seater table tops available for us. Fallow is one of the most hyped restaurants in London right now, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. We came the night before my birthday and ordered a bunch of plates (everything is shared). Highlights included the Mushroom Parfait, Beef Ribs, Octopus Crumpet and Steamed Mussels. A few dishes were a bit salty (Caesar Salad, probably the crumpet and mussels also). They bring out a nice sparkler with your dessert for birthdays - don't try to blow it out lol. Id like to thank Fallow for saving my american dreams of a proper Sunday roast. I made a mistake. I thought roast was the evening meal and waited too late. By the time I started my hunt, 4 pubs turned me down and finally someone sent me to Fallow. I was so excited to try it and I wasn't disappointed (with maybe one exception). The sides were phenomenal. The drinks were great. The location was beautiful. Did you know that British roast isnt the soft fall-apart meat we have in America? I did not. So I was maybe a little underwhelmed by that, but I do think it was on-point for UK expectations. And they had several meat (and non-meat) choices. Overall it was a great experience and I'd go again. read more

One of the top 3 restaurants I was excited to try while in London. I live the Youtube account by the Fallow chefs, which I learn so much from, which added even more to the hype. Didn't have a reservation. Attempted a walk in during the early dinner hours. Was able to score a table. By the time we finished eating, later into dinner time, it was a full house, so highly recommend a reso if you're going peak hours. Atmosphere is modern, stylish, hues of dark, with a buzzy energy. Open kitchen with a lot of young chefs working, which I thought was cool to see. Corn ribs - a menu staple. Kombu seasoning made them very savory and tasty. Confit smoked cabbage - large head of cabbge with miso butter and pickled walnuts. Also added the black truffle supplement for £12 on the waitresses recommendation. Didn't think the truffle was necessary but it was a good value. £12 and they shaved a healthy amount of fresh truffle. UK dairy beef tartare & oyster - tartare served with oyster mayo in an oyster shell. Visually, not what I expected, but this was tasty and clean. Burrata - fresh burrata served with caramelized onions and chili dressing. An okay dish but felt it was a bit one note and a bit oily Smoked cod's head - their most popular dish. Huge cod head served with house made sriracha sauce and leek oil. Really tasty and generous portion, however, the flavor did start to get old after a while due to how big it was and not having a contrasting flavor to cut it. Overall, I can see why this is one of London's hottest restaurants. They do their sauces VERY well and that's why basically every dish has some form of unique sauce. However, I found that sometimes, this became overwhelming as a lot of the flavors were stronger. For two people, I would probably cut the burrata and find a different dish that was more fresh and bright, just to contrast the flavors. read more

Fallow is one of the most popular restaurants in London, and it definitely lives up to the hype. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I especially loved the appetizers--the corn ribs and mushroom parfait were both outstanding. I highly recommend trying these two small dishes. The ribeye on the bone portion is quite large, making it perfect for two people to share. read more
4.5 Second time visiting this top shelf venue. Service is outstanding. High end dining experience without the pretentious dress codes or snotty servers. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Cocktails are masterfully prepared, I suggest Corpse Survivor #2 (you'll thank me). Small plates and mains are expertly prepared and served with flavors you haven't experienced. Try the corn ribs and potato waffle. The beet root small plate is an amazing array of textures and flavors. The beef fillet was delightful. Dessert was the Mayan chocolate and it was unique and lovely. A must when you come to London. read more

Tried the corn ribs, beef tartare, cod's head, and Chelsea tart at the recommendation of the waitress, Deema. Every item was fantastic, and the service was phenomenal. The cod's head in particular was very outstide of my comfort one, but I was so pleasantly surprised. Deema provided incredible service the entire meal. read more

Stopped in for a quick breakfast before sightseeing. We had breakfast sandwiches (croissant royales) and a side of hash browns. Did not have a reservation but was seated quickly, great service from the host and wait staff. Despite being busy for breakfast it was still quiet and we were able to eat and head on our way with no issues. Cool vibe with exposed kitchen so you can see what's going on. Would recommend. read more

I have to say that Fallow is quite overrated, mainly because the portion sizes are just too small to justify the prices and while the food was not bad at all, it also wasn't as good as expected. I got the Royale with Cheese, which was a croissant sandwich with egg and bacon. It was sort of the quality you could get if you just put these ingredients together at home, and the croissant was a bit tough as opposed to fluffy. It was also 16 GBP for a portion that I would consider 50% of a proper meal. The environment is quite nice though, with dark-colored, modern decor, including some plants hanging from the ceiling. Our waitress was very friendly and the service speed was okay. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but still not one that I would really want to have again, especially given the alternatives in the area. read more

By far one of the best meals I've ever had in my life, made infinitely better by the wonderful staff. If you go, ask for Dima. She could teach classes on hospitality. There's also an Australian man who wanders the premises suggesting you order corn ribs and the leak salad. Listen to him. Biggest highlights were the corn ribs, oysters, beef ribs, octopus crumpet, and potato confit. Whatever you do, you must order the mushroom parfait. Book an appointment to visit because Fallow fills up quickly. We ordered several dishes and some are pictured here. In my opinion, the grilled cod head was fantastic. I also enjoyed the crumpet as well as the pie. Corn ribs were just okay and the mushroom dish was not executed at the same level as other dishes. The rhubarb cocktail was not something I would order again or recommend to anyone. Overall, I would come back. read more
I stumbled on this place for a Friday night dinner. I was able to snag a seat at the bar but the place was very full. I tried a few different dishes and drinks. My favorite was the duck pancake and rhubarb spritz. There's alot of creativity in the dishes so I enjoyed trying them. read more
The ambience is dark and chic modern. The lighting is really cool and the energy is high with every detail clearly thought out. Service was great for the moment we walked in. Some of the staff are quite serious but still very accommodating. There was a lady who kindly swapped out a drink that wasn't up to our expectations. She did not crack a smile at all and was not seemingly warm but again very willing to offer a new option. The presentation of the food was all quite beautiful and I have to say the videos on Instagram really wet my appetite for this culinary adventure. The cabbage with the black garlic and miso butter was insanely good, and the venison tartare was unlike anything I've ever had. The duck was not my favorite as I prefer a more rendered breast but the flavor combos were well thought out and again the presentation was beautiful. I would go back and try something else most likely the burgers. Brunch also looks great. read more

The food was good, not great. The service was bad. 2pm Tuesday. Set lunch. Wine came after starter was finished, and I had to ask for it. Salad and main came together nearly an hour later. Woman next to me was concerned and flagged down a server to ask where my lunch was. Tart took another 30 minutes and a second glass of wine was forgotten until I asked for it, again. The worst part was that I was sitting at the kitchen counter and the restaurant was not wildly busy. Extremely disappointed. Restaurant response was a tepid 'whoops, thanks for telling us that we treated you poorly, hope you come back". I'll skip anything this hyped on social media for the future. Can't decide if this is a 3.5 or 4 star review so I rounded up. Service was kinda slow and not very attentive or friendly. Seating was really close together. The back of my husbands chair was to the bar and he got bumped into at least ten times during the meal. Not very relaxing! We came here specifically for the Sunday roast. The meat, which is supposedly the star of the show, was disappointing! Not high quality, very tough to cut and chewy. Also a small portion size. But the potatoes, greens, cheesy cauliflower, and Yorkshire pudding sides were really good. We also had corn ribs for a starter which was excellent and mushroom pate which was good as well. I really want to like this place, so if I tried it again I would do another main course and not the Sunday roast. read more

We weren't able to get reservations for their famed Sunday roast, but decided to try their regular menu during the week. It was a rainy late lunch on a cold day and although we had reservations we were seated at a table near their side door. Every time someone opened it, we were met with a blast of cold wind. We asked to move, which they kindly accommodated us and moved us by the front door, which had the same result. In addition, once we were moved, we were ignored and it took forever to have a new server realize we were there to take our order. We all went for the pre fixe menu. One had the burrata in chili and onion, and two of us had the upcharged potted shrimp and crab on a crumpet. The burrata was completely overpowered by the chili. The shrimp and crab was not very flavourful and the crumpet had the consistency of a soggy sponge - no crispy edges. Hugely disappointing. Second course one had the burger. A tiny plate the exact size of the burger. No other accompaniments. (We ordered the fries on the side for an additional £7). We were expecting an amazing burger - it was not. It was a plain smash burger that was blackened on the outside and raw in the middle. The others got the mussels in the flamed bacon butter sauce - but it tasted like mussels in a French onion soup without the excitement of the cheese. The mussels themselves were plump, fresh and briny, but the sauce was salty and did not compliment them. They were lying on another soggy salty bread. Obviously, a theme here. Desserts were forgettable and boring. For the hype and price (which I was willing to pay), I do not feel that we got the experience we were promised, nor do I think it was worth the expense. It was a horrible meal and we were all disappointed. They also add a 15% gratuity, where most restaurants in London add about 12% service charge. When I opted to give them 12%, due to the wait time between servers turning up at our table and wind chill factor, a staff member sought out to embarrass me for it. I would not return here. Save your money. There are many other amazing places in London to go! read more
