I recently took my car to one of those chain service centers for an oil change and was told that I needed new gasket covers and a thermostat for a "discounted" rate of $700.00. Thanks but no thanks. Googled automotive service in/near Fallbrook and found Fallbrook Auto Works. The Yelp reviews were amazing and I asked someone who works for the local Chamber of Commerce about them. She said she friends use them and rave about them, so I took my Explorer in and Eric what the first garage stated I needed to have done. Long story short, my gasket covers are fine and all my thermostat needed was an O ring. $700.00 turned out to be less than $50.00 when all was said and done. My car's check-engine light came on while visiting from out of town for my brother's wedding. I brought my car to Eric's Repair shop first as it was closest to our hotel, but they were booked solid for the next 4 days & couldn't even take a look at my car. I called over to Fallbrook Autoworks and the receptionist told me to bring it right over! I arrived 5 minutes later as it's just down the road. I was greeted by a friendly staff and my car was looked at in less than 10 minutes even though they seemed to have multiple tasks going on. I am a college student going to Cal Poly SLO and I recently got really into working on my truck, as it is a 94 and stuff is starting to need replacing. I love getting my hands dirty and solving problems so I have always done all the work myself, no matter what went wrong with it. I rebuilt the engine myself at the end of August and it started right up, no problems. But, of course, on the day before I was supposed to drive back up to college, the engine started to crap out. I worked all night trying to figure out what was wrong and didn't want to just start throwing parts at it that might or might not fix it. So i swallowed my pride and I looked up a shop that was open on Saturdays. I brought her in to Eric right when they opened and explained to him what happened. He treated me like an old friend and told me he would take care of it. Well, after just a couple new spark plugs, a tightened distributer bolt, correct timing, and an hour later with more cash left in my pocket than I was expecting, I was on my way back up to beautiful slo. We lived in Fallbrook for a while and began using another auto repair shop. We were very unhappy with the work at the other shop so we asked around and got very good comments about Fallbrook Auto Works. We have had both of our cars repaired at Fallbrook Auto Works and find Eric to be fair and honest. For instance, our Envoy needed a new fan clutch, Eric replaced it with an aftermarket part which did not work properly. Just got my truck back after check engine light came on and I couldn't pass smog.. Eric diagnosed the problem and replaced a bad sensor, I had my truck back in a few hours. I live in Fallbrook but always drove my cars to Temecula/Murrieta to get them repaired at my favorite shops. I read the reviews on Yelp for Fallbrook Auto Works and thought I'd give them a chance since it would be close to home for me.. Well I have been there 3 times now. One time I brought my own parts in and had them do the labor, Every time the prices have been fair and work done right the first time. The last time, I brought in my Trans Am (my baby) for a power steering leak from the pump itself. I know that the pump is $250 + labor, well they are very honest and told me it was just the hose and replaced the hose. Eric the owner has been straight up and honest. I'm able to drop my car off late and pick it up late in the evening (I commute and get home around 6:00pm). Work is typically done from drop off to pick up the next day, Anytime you go by there, they are packed with cars and have a few technicians working late. I have found my favorite shop for all my car! read more

This is the place I will be taking my car to from now on. Very nice staff, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. I went there for the first time last week to get my breaks done along with new wiper blades installed that I had purchased and a couple of minor misc. items I wanted them to check out for me. I asked them to do a once over and do oil change etc. if needed. They got me in the next day and called a few hours later to come pick up my car. When I got there I was told my breaks were at 50% and they didn't need to be done at that time. They installed the wiper blades, topped off my fluids (didn't need the regular maintenance done yet) and charged me $0. Now how can you beat that. Wow wow wow! I took my old Saturn in because the "Check Engine" light came on and I couldn't get a smogged until it got cleared. Eric diagnosed it for FREE, got me a ride back to my house and then told me it was just a hose that needed to be reattached, did so, and then said "how can I charge you for that? " so he didn't. Amazing service! Great knowledge! Great Prices! After being scammed by the only AAA approved mechanic in Fallbrook, we ended up trying Fallbrook Auto Works. What a difference! First off, they are very busy, which told us they know what they are doing. Always lots of cars, and we still received our vehicles in a timely matter. Shortly after fixing our first vehicle, the second vehicle started having problems. So, we went back to Eric. Again, helped us out in timely manner and great price. Seemed ok for a couple of times, then, on another occasion I made an appointment 2 days before and in the morning of the date of the oil change my wife had to wait all day. she came back two different times and they didn't even touch it until the afternoon.. then 6 months later almost all of our oil leaked out!! The filter was loose! 3 out of 4 quarts leaked out. We didn't know til our motor was making noise! we've never experienced this..I will never go back! This place is awesome. Well, not really the place, but the mechanics here. The place looks a little less than appealing but, hey, it's a mechanic shop, right? I brought in a quad atv that i had just purchased for some carb work. They had worked on it in the past before i bought it and went ahead and made some additional fixes for me on the house just to ensure the customer was happy and to show they stand behind their work. I loved these guys! Eric was probably the friendliest guy I've ever met at a shop and the tall blonde guy (motorcycle mechanic) was also just as awesome. They are very accomodating and know what they're doing, even on things other than cars like bikes and atvs. And by looking at the receipt I got with the bike for the previous carb work they'd done, I would say their pricing is more than fair. I really loved the vibe I got from these guys and how they worked with me around my schedule to get this bike ready to ride in time. Totally satisfied customer here; highly recommend! To all those who are scared to go to a mechanic because ultimately u know that ur car, finances are in their hands & sometimes u can walk away going, hmmmm, I wonder if I really needed that part etc etc. Meet Eric, the mechanic that will put your faith back into Humanity. I took my 01 Benz CLK 320 to Fallbrook Auto Works/specifically Eric after a recommendation from a local knowing I'm fairly new to Fallbrook & this is my first German car. After only a month, I had put 87 gas instead of required 91, within 48 hours I had a check engine light fiasco that of course I thought I'd caused. So I'm imagining best case scenario, it's a fuel filter or an O2 sensor...worst case, new cylinoids or a new fuel pump, all things prob 3x's the cost of the same parts on a Ford...and I'm stressing. However, came in at 3:00 on a Thursday, told him what had happened & instead of being expensive, it was the opposite. It was free- a hose was disconnected. 5 seconds & my car is back to normal. I'm so incredibly impressed with the honesty of the mechanic, I had a a diagnostic already done & brought in the codes- but he ran one himself free, lifted the hood & touched something & said try it now. So many mechanics would have told me I needed a new O2 & Mass Air Flow sensor or something else that makes sense & I woulda never known otherwise.
