Poor little Squeaky shrimp with his big brothers!
Kelli D.

We live in Texas in an area where Tex Mex is not only great food but also something that we seek! We have narrowed down 23 restaurants around us that serve Tex-Mex based on what we would like to eat that night. Do we want enchiladas? We go to Big Sombrero. Do we want street tacos? We go to Pancho's Tacos on 104. Husband wants menudo? Heading to El Pichon in Plantersville on Sunday! But for fajitas? It's only Fajita Jacks and it's ALWAYS their Fiesta Fajitas. The tenderness of the shrimp ... that butter sauce ... those shrimp ... that fiesta sauce ... OMG!!! The only time they had a mishap was when we received Squeaky in with our regular sized shrimp this past time LOL! That's OK, we'll definitely be back and give them a mulligan because again ... that steak tenderness ... that butter sauce ... the chicken ... those shrimp ... that fiesta sauce ... OMG!!!!

After a day out on the lake, my friends and I were parched and in serious need of a good meal. Fajita Jacks came highly recommended by some locals so here we came! It is located in the Waterpoint Shopping Center with alot of other restaurants and shops. From the outside it looks huge and it definitely is inside as well. What's cool about this spot is that it sits right off the lake so the patio has killer views. The also have boat slips, so you can dock your boat and come have a bite to eat anytime. We were a pretty large party but came right between lunch and dinner so we were seated pretty quickly. Stormy was our waitress and she handled us with ease. She was very friendly, knowledgeable about their menu and overall did a great job from start to finish. They started us off with a bunch of chips and salsas. I judge a place on their chips and salsas and this place did a good job with it. Someone ordered a few quesos for the table and this was also solid. I didn't partake in any margaritas, but a quite a few were had at the table and everyone seemed to enjoy them. The menu is large and has all the options you typically see at a Tex Mex spot. One thing that was missing was my go to dish, the tried and true chimichanga. It's a simple deep fried burrito that is usually covered with a sauce or queso. I asked if there was anything similar and she said they could make a chimichanga. Great customer service. Our food came out pretty quick. I will say, my chimi was alot smaller than any I've had in the past. I usually have leftovers but demolished this dish here. That being said, it was tasty. They claim to have the best fajitas in the area, and I can say the fajita beef inside was quite delicious. The rice and beans on the side were also good. Overall, Fajita Jacks was a great find for the area. I wouldn't necessarily make the drive from home to come here but would come back if in the area.

California burrito

You're definitely paying for the view/location. The prices are crazy! The quality of the food does not match the price. Ordered the California burrito even though $21 seemed like a crazy price for a burrito. I was expecting to have leftovers, as California burritos tend to be large. This thing was half the size of the burrito you get at the taqueria chain that is famous for them, for twice the price and half as good. The waiter noticed I was not happy with what I was brought, and sent the manager over. He asked if there was a problem. I told him I was missing half of my burrito. He said he would pass that on to the GM. He did send out a second burrito, so I did end up with leftovers. Still could have eaten way cheaper at Pappasitos.

Nicely decorated restaurant with outdoor seating by the lake. We sat outside & ordered the Vege fajitas for 2. Chips with the salsas were good. However the Vege fajitas were just bland & could have been seasoned better. Service was quite slow. We weren't given any silverware for our food and had to wait around for our server to show up. He was also quite stingy with napkins, as we have a toddler, and it can get messy, he literally counted the napkins before handing them to us, and they were just 2! We had to wait around to ask for more. My toddler wasn't given any special cutlery & instead of waiting around we shared ours with her. Other than the ambiance, this place is a lack luster.

The view was great, the food and drinks were great but what took the cake was our AMAZING server Freddie! He was quick funny and sweet. We will definitely be back asking for him!

Green Salsa is a must !!

Pretty good and fast service ! Only been once but I'll probably be back Definitely ask for the green salsa !! No extra charge & knocks the red out the park Beef was soft and pulled apart super easy Will say the rice & charro beans were a 100% miss though, would ask to sub it next time

This place is located in Montgomery technically but is right next to Conroe you can see the lake driving up it was so beautiful. It's a prohibition style speakeasy with the hidden door and the ambiance is so beautiful inside with an amazing bar and just a great vibe. We loved how the waitresses were dressed in dresses from the time it was so classy and fun. And we went on a night they had live music and it was sooo good. Now let's talk about the drinks there were so many choices of cocktails bourbon whiskey you name it. I let the waitress pick mine it was something with pear and it was yummy. We both loved our drinks. My husband loved his old fashion. The food was absolutely delicious we enjoyed the crab toast and lamb lollipop and the Chilean sea bass which were all to die for. Oh and Lavendar creme brûlée for dessert. We met Rob and his wife the owners who are the nicest people and now we can't wait to come back with friends to salsa night. If you're looking for a nice dinner spot with great drinks food and music on certain nights just the best service you have to come try this location you won't be disappointed. Our waitress was admittedly new, but when our food arrived an hour and a half later, it was so disappointing. Three of us ordered ribeyes, and none of them were cooked to our order; plus, they were charred on the bottom & sides. The wagyu burger was burned as well. We also ordered a bottle of wine, but the first 3 choices were out of stock!? Really? Our choice was to jump into a $60.00 or $80.00 bottle. The service team never checked in on how our food tasted or how we were doing. It's like they knew that they ruined our dinner and experience. About this, they call it a speakeasy because the doorway is a bookcase that is as obvious as the nose on your face. The dude hosting the stand at the door, did not even ask if we enjoyed ourselves. For these prices, they should be ashamed of the food they served us. Seriously! Do not waste a dime here. I am making sure everyone I know does not make the mistake we did.

The $20 ribeye special (12 oz with a side) is a standout deal that's honestly hard to beat. We sat inside near the bar, and the atmosphere struck a great balance--casual, a little lively, but still comfortable enough to enjoy a conversation without feeling crowded or rushed. I order my steak well done, which can be tricky, but they handled it the right way. The first one came out slightly under, and our server Madi addressed it immediately with no hesitation. What really stood out was her approach--professional, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. She even brought out a fresh serving of cilantro rice while I waited, which made a big difference. The second steak came out exactly right--flame-grilled, tender, and flavorful. The cilantro rice was fresh and well-seasoned, the fries were crispy, and the drinks were well balanced. We ended up staying after our meal just to relax, which says a lot about the overall experience. Great service, great value, and a place we'll definitely return to. Ask for Madi if you go--she made the experience seamless.

This restaurant is located by the lake so we decided to sit outside to enjoy the views. Our server Collin was pretty nice and was on top of everything. Checked in on us a few times & made sure our drinks were refilled. To start, I ordered their gumbo. For our mains I got 3 pounds of crawfish with sausage & it comes with 2 potatoes & 1 corn. My BF ordered their shrimp Po-boy with French fries. & for dessert I got some beignets. I also ordered the Cajun pasta with shrimp to go. Now, I'm not gonna lie I was a little disappointed that I was overcharged for my crawfish. So they had the happy hour which you can get 2 pounds for 14 bucks. However I was charged 20.99 for 2 pounds on top of that another 7.99 for an extra pound. Okay, now I know I'm not tripping but the math ain't mathing. I didn't look at my receipt until I got home, but I'm not going to be upset over a few bucks. * Seafood Gumbo- kind of expensive for a cup of gumbo since it was 9.69 however it didn't taste bad. The sauce was on the thicker side and it wasn't salty, it had the right amount of seasoning. I would order it again. 3.5/5 * Shrimp Po-boy with fries- loved the batter and the shrimp was fried to perfection. Sauce was good too. Fries were just okay. 3.3/5 * 3 pounds of crawfish with sausage, potatoes and corn- whoever is boiling in the back knows what they're doing. The crawfish was buttery, spice level wasn't too spicy but had good amount of heat. The spicy mayo dipping sauce that was provided was delicious. Sausage was above standard. Corn was cooked nicely but the potatoes could've been boiled for another minute or two. The only criticism I have is that they need to purge their crawfish a little better. 4/5 * Cajun Pasta with shrimp- the pasta was creamy and shrimp was cooked nicely. However for an extra 5 bucks to substitute for shrimp they could've given at least 6-8 shrimps. The 4 I received was on the skimpy side. 3.4/5 * Beignets- came out piping hot. It was doughy, pillowy and had good texture. It also wasn't oily which is good. I just wish they had some sort of dipping sauce for the beignets but I ain't mad at the whip cream though. 4/5 Overall, I'll definitely come back. The inside looks nice with a beach type vibes. The patio views next to the lake was also good. Collin was a solid server. They also have a full bar as well. I'll have to order some of their cocktails next time.

And I really do hate to write negative reviews, but there's just no way around this one. Every time I review a Tex Mex restaurant, I have to mention that the economics never cease to blow my mind. There are approximately 4 billion restaurants like this in the Greater Houston area. They all have the same menu and they are all of similar quality. Except, unfortunately, I just learned that 7 Leguas was not of similar quality with the rest. My go-to order is steak fajitas and that's what I went with here. Technically they were called ribeye fajitas on this particular menu. There was plenty of fat in these fajitas, so I do believe that they were indeed from a ribeye. The issue is that the meat was completely flavorless. It literally tasted like chewy water. It's not crazy to assume that they did not place one speck of salt on this meat before cooking it. The meat also just wasn't visually appealing at all and didn't come out smoking like fajitas usually do. Also, our server would disappear for 10+ minutes at a time, which was really frustrating. At one point, my in-laws ordered sopapillas, but then *poof* our server was gone. At one point, I had to go grab another server and just request the bill. They insisted that the sopapillas were about to come out, and then shortly after, our server re-appeared with them. Like everything else, they were a massive disappointment and tasted like they had been obviously reheated. I feel a little bad crushing the server because my wife thinks she heard him telling another table that he was brand new. So I do take that part of the experience with a grain of salt, but I will also say that even if you've never been a server a day in your life, you should know to not go into the back so long that your tables are asking if maybe you got fired or quit. Given the competition here with Tex-Mex restaurants, it's just impossible to justify coming to a place again that misses the mark so badly. This was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time.
