The job took 4-days, really 3.5-days with the first 0.5 being a crew who peeled off the old shakes the first day and some supply delivery. 2nd was delivering more supplies, checking for dry rot, replacing as needed, and starting the plywood, and waterproofing. 3rd was shingling and gutters (separate crews), 4th finishing everything up including painting the vents to match with the new roof. Luckily,…read moreit was more of a steady drip, but after having to use the waste basket to capture the water I decided it was finally time to get the leak evaluated. I contacted Jeff on a Monday and he came out on Wednesday and evaluated my whole roof. He took photos and then showed me the problem, plus some other maintenance issues. Basically, the vent where the water was entering is near a "valley" in the roof, so when it rains hard the water backs up and doesn't drain down the roof properly. Jeff also found broken tiles, tiles that had slipped, trim boarders not nailed in place, and a banged up vent top. He also discovered what an ugly job the solar panel company did with the way they installed some of the supports holding the panels. Jeff was very thorough and detailed in getting the roof situation fixed, and even went so far as to paint the roof vents to match the trim on the house. His price was very fair. If you need an honest and reliable roof repair company, Hester Roofing should be the first and only call you make.
