While testing out a new drone, I noticed some of our roof tiles were pulled away and visible gaps were present. Worried about leaks, I did some quick research and called Jeff at Hester Roofing. He was able to come out the next day and went over my roof and took a bunch of photos of obvious problems. It helps that he has lived in the area for a long time and is very familiar with issues common to our particular model in Wild Rose Ranch. This should be my second 5 star review for Jeff, but I somehow forgot to write a review for his first visit. Last year, Jeff came out and found a leak on my roof that 2 other roofers could NOT find. Jeff found it in about 10 minutes and completed the work at a good price! We got a new leak on the opposite side of our roof and Jeff came out on Christmas Eve to do a patch job to stop the damage. No holiday price gouging either!!! He followed up today and completed the work at another good price. My second-floor bathroom was leaking through the ceiling vent when it rained really hard. Luckily, it was more of a steady drip, but after having to use the waste basket to capture the water I decided it was finally time to get the leak evaluated. I contacted Jeff on a Monday and he came out on Wednesday and evaluated my whole roof. He took photos and then showed me the problem, plus some other maintenance issues. Basically, the vent where the water was entering is near a "valley" in the roof, so when it rains hard the water backs up and doesn't drain down the roof properly. Jeff also found broken tiles, tiles that had slipped, trim boarders not nailed in place, and a banged up vent top. He also discovered what an ugly job the solar panel company did with the way they installed some of the supports holding the panels. Jeff was very thorough and detailed in getting the roof situation fixed, and even went so far as to paint the roof vents to match the trim on the house. His price was very fair. I saw a dried water stain on my ceiling and figured there must have been a leak in my roof. After getting a quote from a different company who gave me a quote to replace a section of the roof that the "thought may be the issue", I saw several recommendations for Hester Roofing on a community Facebook page so I requested an appointment. Jeff called back promptly and I had an appointment set same day. Jeff took his time and inspected my whole roof. He took pictures of everything he found that needed attention including a hole in a tile that he pulled up and discovered was the source of the leak. This is now the second time my family and I used Jeff Hester for our roofing needs. First time was about almost 5 years ago when we had some small noticeable leaks in the ceiling in our family room and garage. A thorough inspection by Jeff, and he confirmed that it was due to several broken tiles that caused the paper underlay to go bad, along with damaging wood sections underneath paper that rotted away because of the breach. Quick fix in both areas and we haven't had an issue since. More recent visit which was last week, was made because after 3 failed attempts by 3 different general contractors to fix a side leak coming into the living room after every rain, I decided to call Jeff to get his professional opinion on what other possibilities there might be that is causing water to come into the the house, that was leaking/breaching the base board of the living room. Mind you, we've already spent a total of over 10K, trying to figure what was causing this, one repair after the other, from various general contractors, sharing that it was a crack from the outside, etc., and with the last contractor sharing that it could be roof related, after this same contractor already cost me $3,000+ to cut out the wall and reinforce it, guaranteeing that this would solve the issue. Desperate and frustrated, this is why I called Jeff because if there was going to be any roof repairs done, the only guy I trust to work on our roof is Jeff Hester, considering my last experience with him. Solid guy to say the least, he took a look at the area above where I shared water was coming into our living room floor, through a particular area, he inspected two levels of roofing and also the areas around the chimney and bingo, with confidence, immediately let me know that this area is what's been causing water coming in. Bad flashing around the chimney and worn paper underlay and damaged wood was it. Sounded too good to be true, since I couldn't believe none of the 3 general contractors even thought of this. Let me just say that with yesterday's rain, I couldn't believe my eyes to finally see NO WATER coming into our living room, after 3 years of frustration. After my buyers house inspection on the property, we determined she should get an estimate on replacing and/or repairing the roof. I called Hester roofing and was told to text my question. I asked if we could get a quote for repair/new roof. He didn't want to give us and estimate on a roof for a client of mine without charging $200 inspection fee. We already had an inspection but just needed a quote on the price to repair/replace it so my client was prepared for the cost of a roof. He said "nice try, not interested." What? What "nice try?" In my business, I get lots of quotes for my clients. We don't mind compensating for time but I asked to clarify what the $200 was for. He didn't answer and just said he wasn't interested. I called Jeff on a Thursday, when we found a leak in one of our upstairs bedrooms. This was just after the huge storm after the New Year. I had solar panels installed in December 2014. After the installation, it rained heavily for several days and discovered there were about 40 broken tiles and a major leak on my roof. The leak was unrelated to the solar panel installation, but about 30 of the broken tiles were new and resulted from a poor installation from the solar company. After meeting with several roofers, Jeff was the one who stood out to be very willing, down to earth, and had many years of experience. Jeff and his crew were great guys and worked through the summer heat like champs. The job was started on July 19 and completed August 6, the hottest days of the year! The roof work, the fascia boards, vents, and chimney flashing all came out beautifully. We have had many compliments from our neighbors as to how good the roof looks. We were happy to cut way down on our ac usage as the cool roof material has made a tremendous difference on the inside of our home, we used Timberline HD Reflector Series, color is Sandalwood.
