Taylor was fantastic to work with. I'm keeping them in my phone for future work. He fixed my fridge quickly and was very personable.

While there are places on the internet one can get quality systems from, I'm a hands on person so I like to go in, check out computers and talk to people while customizing. Moreover, I like to walk around and Micro Center appeals to my inner nerd. So, what does Microcenter offer, well lots of computers, accessories and everything an aspiring nerd needs to enter the digital world in style. If you're a graphical artist, they have drawing tables and stylist, musically inclined they have adapters to cover that too along with software but I encourage research or talking to a sales rep before buying. How about that keyboard that fits those tired hands? I see a dozen options before we even get into the backlit keyboards. Mice with over 20 buttons for those hardcore gamers will also tempt you. How about a laptop for computing on the go? Well that "buying best" place can only dream of as many options. As for me, while I've built my computer before I decided to let MicroCenter take care of it. The installation cost was low and I was able to build my "super computer" for cheap, a warranty and it was done within three days. What was a lot of fun is the saleman and I talked for about 45 minutes about World of Warcraft b/c he's a player as well. Although he did try and sell me a monitor however I have that covered. I did browse the TV section out of curiosity and noticed their prices and inventory are competitive with other stores as well. I'll admit, I love this place and it's my first option when I need a computer. I like talking to people and discussing options rather than grabbing it off a website. Micro Center has an informed sales staff, a lot of inventory and competitive prices for everything you may need, including phones! My suggestion is stop on by, you won't regret it but be guarded you might buy more than you thought! Be strong Daniel-son!

Waring Pro told me to kick rocks, and the next option was $60. So after a lot of research, I heard tell of a place akin to a radio shack, but more Costco than Shack - and a whole lotta radio. Electronics Supply - been around for over 60 years - is just a wonderful place for the tinkerer with electronics repair needs. There's an upstairs and a downstairs, a gaggle of extremely helpful staff, and they even have the curmudgeons of yore - those gentlemen of too much knowledge, and not enough cares - answer any question gladly, but stays in their chair, and hardly look at you while doing it. This place is a rarefied necessity of any advanced municipality with the capacity for ordering online. Honestly, these guys seemingly have anything an everything you can imagine - and they're very helpful to boot, which in this time of online garbage is welcomed necromancy! I bought a thermal fuse; I didn't know what I needed, but they did. They discussed the part in question, haggled over the possibilities, pulled it from the expansive selection in back, and after an entire dollar seventy five, I was out the door! I installed it, and viola! Waffles! I'm just over-the-moon excited about the possibilities! They have myriad tools and components, security systems and computer parts, and if you venture downstairs, you've ventured into the realm of commercial electrical supplies. Among a million other items, there is a full-blown server setup for sale, conduit for days, and any bracket, housing, cable, wire, transistor or capacitor you can manifest from your imagination. It's an electronics supply, but it's more than that. Like the armory or granaries of yore, this is a downright necessity of civilization in the heart of downtown Kansas City. I'll definitely be back for things and stuff. You should too! It's a shame more people aren't able to fix their own stuff anymore, and that number is shrinking. Thanks to the Electronics supplies of the world - a right contrivance of practicality in such the weary world of toss it and buy another.

Usually their prices are set to match their competitors, however there was an item that Costco and Sam's Club were offering for less over Christmas. I looked up to see if they would price match those stores, and the website indicated that they would. When I was checking out, the cashier looked at the pricing at both the other stores, and verified it was the same item. He needed a manager to come change the price, and I had to wait at least five minutes for one to come over. The manager told me that what the website doesn't tell you is that in order for them to price match Costco or Sam's, you have to have a membership at Best Buy. I didn't even know they offered one, or why I would even need one. He told me that if I paid $50 for a membership that he would do the price match. I told him that if I did that, the item would cost me more than just buying it at Costco. He just shrugged his shoulders uncaringly. I left, and drove straight to Costco to purchase the item. On the way, I called Best Buy customer service to see if that was indeed the policy. The verified that it was absolutely not the policy, and that I didn't need to buy a membership to match the price. I assume maybe the manager gets spiffed for selling memberships, and lied to me in order to sell one, but all they did was lose a good customer for life. I won't be returning.

The outside seems normal enough, on par with our memories of a begotten age and heck the employees seem very nice as well. The parking lot also is relatively smooth, devoid of potholes!!! That said be warned I'm still a fan of this place, regardless of some of the stupid business practices enacted by a short sited corporate regime. Walk on in and you get greeted relatively quickly but also a blast of cold or hot air hits you, depending on the season, to make shopping that much easier! I'll admit I'm still somewhat taken back that every time I walk in, some nice employee says hi! Very nice. As with most Best Buys now adays, directly in front of the shopper, you know where the DVDs, Blu rays, 4ks used to be to encourage impulse shopping, lies the multitude of cell phones. Yes, I mentioned the physical media b/c it's a sore spot with me. Please note the inventory of DYI items like wire, connectivity butts, odd length of HDMI cable and things of that nature have been scaled down. I strongly advise checking online if you don't like just browsing like me. Also, a lot of options in terms of computer mice, keyboards and things of that nature aren't as plentiful anymore. I mean, it's better than many other competitors but not what I remember of the golden age of Best Buy in the 2000s. As stated, physical media in terms of movies and music is gone but games are also impacted yet they do carry some titles, especially new or hot items. As far as new consoles, I've never had much luck getting a "hard to get" system as opposed to other places. In those regards, plan ahead. Now they do have a great selection of TVs and surprisingly if you like higher end equipment they carry that too! When I first moved to Kansas in 2000, this was my "home" Best Buy. They've continued to have competitive pricing, a friendly staff and a pretty good stock of most items. I won't sugar coat this because it affects all stores, is they've scaled back on a lot of items like I mentioned. If you're a window shopper, I invite you to come by. However if you need an item and expect it to be in stock, I suggest checking the website first. I've been to a lot of Best Buys and this one continues to be a great store!

I like buying my own length of wires, checking out the new games and wondering aimlessly. I have a very expensive home theatre, a bunch of CDs, DVDs, Blu Rays, 4ks, Xbox and Nintendo games along with a Galaxy Fold 4 phone and accessories. I list these products b/c many of them aren't available at Best Buy anymore. With the advent of streaming, Best Buy no longer carries physical media. So, when you stream Toy Story 2 and say "hey, where's that scene with Stinky Pete?" well that's because Disney has altered the movie and unless you have a physical copy your memories are all you have of the scene. Or perhaps you purchased a game on Sony's streaming service, yup you don't own that either. My point is Best Buy isn't there to give you an option to streaming anymore and their floor space has opened up to even more boring and drab "knick knacks" instead of electronic goods. Now I will admit the people are very nice and the checkout lines are relatively fast! At this Best Buy employees are more than willing to help out with questions and they seek you out! I like good customer service, something that has been lost over the years. While I've been to several Best Buys recently, this one seems to have maintained their commitment to the "DIY" person ala Radio Shack back in the day (yes I realized I dated myself) with products and tools to run your own network, home theatre or computer area. So for instance, you need a long HDMI cable tonight, this Best Buy probably has you covered. As I stated, CDs, DVDs, 4ks and even a robust game selection for the major consoles is gone. Yes, they do carry a limited selection of games, most have been replaced by some odd toys like Funko Pop, Disney or something of the like. Come to think of it, I forgot to check on records! As for gaming consoles, they do have a selection of controllers, computers do have a few mice and keyboard options and the stereo selection is ok with a broad range of products in differing price ranges. In Summary, Best Buy is relatively competitive with pricing and will have many desirable products on hand. The people are nice and if you're in a rush they're pretty good about having short lines. I've been to a lot of Best Buys and this is by far one of their stores as they still carry a lot of things from yesteryear. Combine that with a solid staff, fast lines and safe shopping and this is sure to be the Best Buy for you!

I told them that was ok because I really didn't think I had a choice if I wanted it repaired. Paid the 125.00 check out fee that would go towards the repair. 9 months in I called to see how things were going and was told at that time it would probably be about 12 months before it got in to be looked at . At 12 months I checked in again and was told I was getting closer to being looked at maybe a couple of more months. At 14 months I get a phone call that they looked at my unit and the newer Marantz Receivers are difficult to get access to the circuit board to make any repairs. FOUTRTEEN MONTHS AND NOW YOU TELL ME ITS TO HARD FOR YOU TO FIX! Come and get your unit we can't help you. Oh by the way we are still charging you the 125.00 check out fee. Wow I don't even know how to respond no empathy just that's the way it is. A friend told me that there is a authorized Marantz repair center in Overland Park I left the Electronics Center and went straight over there to see if they could help me. Long story short 2 days later I am watching Dolby Atmos movies again. I will never use Electronics Center again!
