A decent park, ample parking, nice play area for children, and many trees for some nice shade. Close to downtown riverside as well. The waterfowl are entertaining and don't mind people. Only qualms I have here is some of the litter. May be because of ignorant park patrons and/or a lack of maintenance. Overall I would definitely return. read more

I've gone to this park in the past with my daughter and her kids to practice my "people" portrait photography there. The grass is always very green there, as long as you watch where you walk ~~ they have many ducks and geese there that like to leave their "calling cards" on the grass. I also used to take my German Shepherd down there to walk around the lake, which was great exercise and she loved it. She saw her first "goose" there. We used to go every weekend, until we encountered about 12 stray dogs of various sizes & breeds that popped up from behind the massive tree trunks. After that, I never took her down there again. I do plan on going back down to do some scenic photography on a week-end soon. read more

Definitely my favorite park so far. This park is huge, has 2 playgrounds, pounds you can rent a paddle boat. You can go fishing. Everyone at this park is very friendly and there is a lot of shade :) lots of trees read more

What i did not like about the park was that there were so many little bugs. And the pond was trashy. But it's a big park. Different playgrounds and a lot of space for bike riding or long walks. read more

Playground is huge, inventive, creative, and covered! A BIG pond is home to many birds, ducks, and geese. Place is the bomb.

I love the rose garden here. If your planning a wedding, when you book this place, included is a guard for the gate so you don't get strangers interrupting your wedding. There are many lovely areas to picnic, and it's always nice to relax by the water. Yes, there unfortunately is some trash in the lake, and--as with most parks--there are some homeless people. But the grounds are well cared for, and there are trash cans everywhere. You'll see many people fishing and walking their dogs. It's a great park for the family! The new playgrounds for the children look amazing. I've enjoyed the park since I was a little girl and now I take my kids there so they can run around and play. Beautiful park that my little boy loves to go to. They remodeled their playgrounds and made them much more enjoyable for the kids. I absolutely love this park! Definitely a gem to Downtown Riverside. Couldn't believe I had never been, when I went there for the first time about a year ago. The park is massive! You'll have loads of fun following ducks, be it weirding them out, throwing bread excitedly their way :-) They always come qua quack quacking for more! Sure, some strange kooks seem to lurk in the bushes and want to talk about Christianity, but for the most part it's a family park with a bunch of outdoor action and peace :-) read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. The ratings and pictures on yelp are deceiving. The actual park looks incredibly run down, the fountain shown on yelp is non working and full of moss and dirt. The flowers are either dead or withering and there's very little grass most of the land here is dirt or muddy and the whole park itself seems sketchy. I came to this park because of the reviews on yelp, needless to say they failed to include that you need a permit to park. Ridiculous. I hadn't stepped out longer than 10 minutes out of the car when security gave me a fine. I asked them where I would even get a permit and they were vague about where to get it, seems as if they don't even know. I drove all around the park before parking and didn't see the office they described either. I almost feel scammed because this park is awfully run down absolutely no reason for the city of riverside to be charging to visit the park, I would understand if it were a nice park but it's not. And obviously the fines and permits they charge aren't going towards the park. Save yourself the money, and gas. DON'T visit this park. read more

i love this parkk!!! We get to feed the ducks and theres such a great atmosphere! i can stroll down the side of the lake with my bf, ride the paddle boats with friends, or just sit under a tree & have a picnic with the family:) Fairmount park is the place to be!!! i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! read more
