Pretty nice park! Very spacious. Lots of parking available. Although many of the spots were already taken when I arrived, there were still a few available, however the parking gate was closed. I didn't see any events going on, so I'm not sure what was up with that. There's plenty of parking along the street as well. The bathroom facilities are top-notch. Very clean and stocked well. Even had soap and warm water. There was an air show going on at the local airport, so it was cool to visit here for a bit and catch some of the planes as they were flying by. read more

Ryan Bonaminio Park is a 40-acre park located in Riverside, California. The park is named after Riverside Police Officer Ryan Bonaminio, who was fatally shot while on duty in 2010. I went here because there was a Pink on Parade Breast Cancer Awareness event which this park was the starting point. The park was large enough to hold this venue. It was a beautiful park. The grass was green and well kept. Parking at the park was immediately taken up by the vendors attending, so we had to park on the street. We didn't get the chance to see if there were restrooms in the park because the Riverside City Foundation brought in portable restrooms for everyone. There's a playground for the kids. Plus, there's paved pathways around the park if you want to bring along your dog. Overall, it's a nice park to take your family to enjoy the day. read more

My wife and I along with our 7 yr old grandson visited this park while in the area on vacation. The park was clean and no sign of vagrants. We did visit on July the 4th so there was a lot of people at the park to view an upcoming firework show. I am not familiar with standard security at this park but there was a very pronounced police presence on this particular day so safety wasn't a concern. There was a very nice play set for children that my grandson had a blast playing on as well with the new friends he had met. I would visit this park with a child if back in the area again. New Year means pretend to be fit. To start the year off right, I laced up my Keds and challenged Hubby to run up Mt Rubidoux with me. He wasn't feeling it and convinced me to walk around this park instead. The park is located just below the Mt Rubidoux trail (and is where most hikers park their cars at). Overall, it's a nice neighborhood park... -open, clean public space -simple, not overdesigned landscape -nearby transit stop The park offers an array of activities to engage in..there's a basketball court, a baseball field, a community garden, and a one-mile walking path (super easy even if you're wearing Keds). Went there on Mother's Day and the restrooms were locked! These were the restrooms near the children's play area, so if children were in the area the restrooms definitely should have been open that day. read more

What a great park! There's plenty of open space to let dogs zoom, which also means plenty of parking spaces. This is where some folks who hike the mountain also park. This park has an exercise circuit and running trail around the park area. Also a basketball court, playgrounds, and plenty of grassy areas for picnics. Restrooms are clean and seems the grounds are maintained frequently. In the corner is where the dog park is located, and is well stocked with poop bags in case you forgot your own. read more

Really nice & clean! We had intended just to use their parking while we went to check out the nearby Mount Roubidoux Trail. Our intended hike turned out to be a bust (fussy dog & more of an elevated hike my bum knees could handle on this day). We returned to the park which was better suited for us to have a nice stroll. This park is a nice memorial to this city's fallen officer, Ryan Bonaminio. It seems to be well-used by the community. This park is tucked in the back of RCC, like keep driving down 14th past magnolia and then make a right turn and then a left and you're there. I love this park, it's clean and big! I love walking here, it's a full mile lap around the park and the walking trail is marked every quarter mile. There are two bathroom areas, both are kept clean. Ditched our usual, and instead of going out to eat at a restaurant, we decided a day at the park. Started out by getting a grinder at Butch's, which is up the street from the park. I ate at Butch's because I was starving and couldn't wait until we got to the park. Grinder was really good by the way. The park is really big with plenty parking. It was a Sunday so.... the park was pretty busy. But despite the busy Sunday there was still parking! Yay. I have to admit when I seen all the people and cars I was a little hesitant. But the park is really big so we got to relax. We walked a little along one of the paths in the park and then found some shade under a tiny tree. The trees are little, But we laid a blanket down under the shade it cast. We basically came to relax and chill, but the park does have plenty to offer. There's a little exercise area where it has different post like for sit ups or push ups. Plenty of grassy areas to lounge or kick around the ball. One guy was flying his remote control plane. There's a baseball field and bike paths. It's also good parking for the Mt. rubidoux hike. The ice cream man goes thru there and there's also some one sometimes with a hot dog stand. It was our first time here so we weren't sure what to expect,,, but definitely would come back again. Maybe next time to park for the hike or bring the soccer ball or foot ball. Would recommend this park too. read more

I only have one major and one minor gripe about this park. Major, LOTS of people donMy seem to want to pick up the poop that their dogs leave just off the main dirt walk paths. I only saw one poop bag dispenser near the south stairs entrance (Palm Ave.) Leave the park as you found it. The minor: not a whole lot of shade here. Trees are still pretty new but it's just going to take some time for these to grow. Other than that, bathrooms seem to be very clean and safe. Grounds are well maintained other than the poop people leave. Oh, and watch out for coyotes crossing through into the old dump area around 5:15 AM. read more

Very nice and clean. LARGE open areas. The parking lot is nicely designed with grass around it. Also, the parking lot is right on the main road that people going to Mt Rubidoux use. I wonder if that will be a problem on crowded weekends, but in the middle of the weekday that I went, it wasn't a problem. There are water fountains with dog-friendly features all around. Too bad there is only one dog bag dispenser, but that can be easily remedied if they put their minds to it. There were authority figures everywhere when I went: A groundskeeper, animal control officials were taking a lunch, and a homeless outreach van did a quick turn in the parking lot and left (because there weren't any homeless there). At no time did I feel unsafe. The other citizens who were there seemed quiet and well behaved. I did not see dog doo as others did. Maybe it was because it was Friday and maintenance had been done all week in preparation for the weekend (when the poo problem probably builds). But be sure your dogs are up on flea prevention. We use food grade diatomaceous earth and can get away with only that because my dogs are tiny. I found a flea on one of the dogs and was able to nip it right then and there. But for larger dogs, be sure you're up on prevention. To the guy upset that the grounds-person who was "rude" to him, I'd have to ask what he expected. There is a fence all around the ball field and players should have the confidence to run and slide without the fear of dog doo, or the remnant fecal viruses and bacteria that come with it. Not to mention the fleas. Also, the urine will hurt the grass. Use your brain and think of others before making unilateral decisions on public lands. I might have been rude to you, too. If you want an "anything goes" park, I would suggest Fairmount Park. I'd like to remind Sir that there is an onus on us to use our citizenship skills when in shared spaces. These skills are just as important as the paid employees' attitudes. We are not customers, we are citizens who should do our parts to pitch in by thinking first. And I would also like to add that the groundskeeper is a taxpaying vigilant citizen himself. Enough said. This is a basic park PLUS. : The PLUS is the loads of open grass space. The regular park bits are the baseball field, bathrooms, a few picnic benches and basically that's it. But it is perfect for me. Any more features (esp BBQ) may attract the less-than-savory crowds, some of which are loud, sloppy families. Some people said there is a track, which I believe. There is a sidewalk circumnavigating the entire park, so it's fathomable that it's a measured track. read more

This park is a great place to park to hike to the Mt rubidoux trail, which in itself is a very easy trail, but perfect if you are bringing the fur babies, my Dolce and Chloe have enjoyed walking there. So while I haven't enjoyed the park I do appreciate it's proximity to the trail, make sure you don't leave valuables visible in the car and park under a street light. read more

Decided to visit this park after watching The Nutcracker at the Fox. I wanted to visit solely because of its proximity to the Fox and also to try out new locations to hit some baseballs with my kids. I was not disappointed in the least. A most beautiful locale with extraordinary visuals from the surrounding mountains certainly enhanced our outing. The fields are well manicured and very spacious. I highly recommend this facility. My kids also said it was the best they have played on in a while. Will definitely come out during Christmas break to hit some more. read more
