When I attended UC Riverside, this was one of my favorite spots to go hang out with friends or do some work. This place has one of the best views of the city, yet very peaceful. A lot of people like to bring their dogs here or plan picnics/gatherings. There is a little playground with a basketball court that people usually play on. If you walk up the hill a little bit, there's a gazebo with tables and benches for people to sit on or hang around. My friends and I liked to do our school work here while watching the sunset. Some of my fondest memories were spent at Sycamore Park and I love going every time I'm back in Riverside. The park is part of a neighborhood, so there's some street parking, but be mindful of the area. It's never been extremely crowded when I've gone, but there has been a few times that parking was limited. Overall, a great place to spend the day with your friends or family and catch the sunrise/sunset. read more

Brother told me to come here because the views are amazing and it was true. They have a nice gazebo and vineyard area. There is also a hiking trail and it was very peaceful. read more

Just wanted to comment on the reveiws here about Sycamore Highlands. This is a neighborhood park, which means it's surrounded by houses and families that live in the community. There are no public facilities, no BBQ's to grill on, no public parking, no restrooms to use. Other than those facts, the rest of the reviews are spot on read more

Its in a safe beautiful neighborhood. Its a neighborhood park like the other review says so there's no public parking but there are plenty of parking along the side walk. The park is so pretty and yeah the slides could use a cleaning, I bring my own water tissues for my little boy to whatever I find dirty. Great way to see the sunset, I see why couples come here to take pictures. I didn't get the chance to go on the walkway and follow the path around the park. Riverside is lucky to have a park like this. The grass is green, the slides have such nice color, I love the steps included in the playground. This park was SO beautiful. We spent the majority of our time down by the play structure so my daughter could play but at sunset, the top of the hill is the place to be. The view is spectacular. Highly recommend viewing the sunset here. There's not many places where the sunset looks like something in a painting but this is definitely one of them. read more

Living near this breathing space within ie is a relief for me. If you hike or bike on the trails, you'll find multiple natural treasures hidden within reach. Walking in the park on the weekend has become one of my favorite activities. Try to witness a sunset from the peak points.. it's breathtakingly beautiful read more

Wanting to check out "the best park to see a sunset from", I sped over here after my froyo stop at Canyon Crest Towne Centre. Flying up the hill to make it in time, I noticed people were jogging up the incline, which was substantial. As I flew past them, I thought "Yeah, I set my treadmill incline to 15... I'm just like you" There were so many people, yet I was fortunate enough to find street parking not too far away. I hightailed it to the top of the rolling hill just in time to snap a few photos before catching the money shot. Look for it at a Yelp listing near you. The park gave off a sense of community, with all the kids playing, and cursing, and flying kites, and playing softball. Beautiful park with such gorgeous scenic views. Stopped by one day with some people just because, and wow, it's such a pretty little area. You can see basically all of Riverside from there. I heard on Fourth of July, you can see fireworks from three different places if you go on the hill. They also have a little playground for the kiddos and a lovely gazebo/wooden trellis with climbing vines area. read more

This is a really cute park with beautiful quiet (when I went) trails. It is very well kept and clean. The vibe feels very safe and peaceful. Great view. Great place to take the kids. Greatest spot in the IE for sunsets, picnics, exercising and outdoor fun with the family. The absolute CLEANEST park I've ever been to with a great and safe neighborhood surrounding area. Very quiet place to be if you're looking for a place to meditate or think. Not much of a place to hike like Mt. Rubidoux but more family oriented. Have grills for outdoor bbq, 2 basketball courts, softball/baseball field at least 15 picnic tables and even more benches. Slides and swings available for the kids! read more

This is my new favorite hiking spot; there are multiple trails some steper than others so there is a little something for beginner to intermediate hikers. This is a good place to take pictures as well. I think I can manage to start from the trailhead and hike my way to Sycamore highland Park and back in less than an hour read more

I can't think of a better place to spend an afternoon. There is a beautiful park for kids, a basketball court, baseball field, plenty of picnic tables and benches, and nearby hiking and biking trails. The landscaping is lush and well maintained. There are always people there, from families enjoying the a day out with the kids to couples enjoying the stunning views to hikers and bikers tackling the challenging trails in the adjacent Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park. It's a great place to bring your four-legged family members as well. The panoramic views of the valley are breathtaking. The sunset views are amazing. I feel so fortunate that this is so close to where I live. It's a little piece of heaven in the middle of Riverside! read more

Watched fireworks here :) got a little crowded but nice to see the neighborhood come out. Ive had numerous picnics here and walked my cousins dog here. Its nice because you can see all of riverside from here, and the weathers usually perfect when i come out. good amount of tables, a playground, good for doggies, and theres a basketball court. read more

I went to sycamore highland park tonight to have a picnic with my friend. We brought all of our materials such as a comforter and food/drinks and set it down so we can see the lovely view. The view looked amazing as the sun was setting! We had to leave soon though because the sprinklers came on at about 8:00 (shortly after sunset). We moved to the bench which wasn't bad bc it was facing the view. We then saw a group of young men shining their flash lights in the grass and saw a RATTLESNAKE in the grass!!!!!!!!! As soon as we saw that it was slithering around 10 feet away from us we decided it'd be best to leave the park entirely bc we didn't feel safe! We were extremely close to the spot the snake was in in the grass where we set our picnic up. This was such a close call. I wouldn't recommend going to this park at night even if you're sitting/standing on the sidewalk bc rattlesnakes can move extremely fast. It's sad because this park has such a nice view of the mountains and lights. It's safest to go during the day and stay out of the grass. read more

Mostly a nice place. As per parks and rec, you can't rent any spaces (it's a small park). Unfortunately, a lot of people chose to violate this policy. I have seen pinatas destroyed, dog waste bags used to collect candy (ugh...), parties not cleaned up after (smashed cake everywhere), dog owners who refuse to clean up their dog's waste (there are free dog bags provided), vandalism (in progress and the aftermath), people who set up tables/chairs blocking the only walking/stroller path, countless beer bottles left wherever, and so many people smoking marijuana near kids playing i've lost count. Oh, I almost forgot about the person who was firing a weapon (not a joke). This park is nice at only certain times of the day, and only when it is recently cleaned up. Btw you can't bbq here (some person posted some false info). Picnics are a great choice here though. read more

A beautiful and manicured and super scenic small picnic park. Tables and benches, tots can safely play while lovers kiss atop a green grassy hill. Picture perfect paths wander around the highland gardens as dilligent fastwalkers whip by. Access to the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness area can be found at the west end for the more rugged. A local neighborhood favorite for many--including me! read more

My dog and I go to this park almost every day. Awesome views, dog friendly and most importantly it has connection to the wilderness park so you can go on a hike if you feel you need more walking. read more

I had a wonderful afternoon with my wife and. Our 4 furry kids,went to this dog friendly park,and i was not dissapointed,it was Awesome,the scenery,the cleaniness of the place,and the nice sunset,iwe will definitely go back ,and hit the more rugged wilderness trails,parking is very limited,so definitely be patient and park on the limited space ,otherwise you risk getting a citation or a neighbor calling a tow truck,,other than that it was great! read more

Awesome place to watch incoming storms, beautiful sunsets, or see the ocean from afar distant view on clear days. Great place for the kids to see wildlife, but please do remember that the rattlesnake season is upon us, so keep a watchful eye!!!! read more

Such a beautiful and clean park! It has a nice walking path that leads to the sycamore canyon hiking trails. Perfect for kids since they have a nice playground. There are a lot of places to have picnics since they have numerous amounts of tables. There is a great view on top of the hills. I like that there is an option of doing a more strenuous hike in the trails or a simple walk in the park area. I have taken my dog here and he loves it, I highly suggest coming here! read more

You can now walk from Eastvale Community Park at Hamner through River Walk Park and down to Archibald, a total round trip of 5.2 miles. Unfortunately, there has been so many kids out there racing E-bikes during the past year it is getting increasingly difficult to safely take a walk with my dog along this trail. Recently JCSD has put up 20 miles per hour speed limit signs that say yield to pedestrians and some mirrors to help see around sharp turns. 20 mile per hour speed limit might be an okay speed limit on the straight parts of the trail, but 20 miles per hour isn't at all safe around the sharp turns. I have had to jump in the bushes and pull my dog off the trail several times from E-bikes racing around a curve in the trail.

It's a cute little place for kids with a lazy river, three slides, a toddler area, and a wave area. I was excited to find somewhere that was a little more convenient and purchased 3 season passes. Unfortunately, we were only able to use the passes twice. When I originally asked the girls working at the front desk about the schedule, I was told that the park would be open Monday through Friday through the end of August. Based on that information, I felt comfortable purchasing the season passes because I knew my other kids would be coming back from vacation and we would have plenty of opportunities to use them. That ended up not being the case. The park was closed multiple times for private events, and then the schedule changed. I eventually called to check whether they were open and got a voicemail saying that they would now only be open on weekends until Labor Day. I emailed the park because I was disappointed and explained the situation. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like they were very helpful. I was basically told that the calendar had been posted since the beginning of summer and that it was my responsibility to check it. The problem is, I didn't even know there was a calendar to check. I was given information directly by the employees at the front desk that the park would be open Monday through Friday through the end of August. If someone had told me, "Our schedule can change, so please check our online calendar before purchasing," I absolutely would have done that. In fact, if I had known the actual schedule, I probably wouldn't have purchased the season passes in the first place. Because of the closures, private events, and schedule changes, I was only able to use my pass twice and couldn't use it when my other kids returned from vacation, which was the whole reason I purchased the passes. I think it's a cute little water park and could be a fun option for younger kids, especially if you're looking for something smaller than the big water parks. But unfortunately, the way this was handled left a really bad taste in my mouth. I completely understand that schedules can change and private events happen. What I don't think is fair is telling customers one thing when they're purchasing passes and then essentially telling them afterward that they should have known to check a calendar they weren't aware existed. I'm sure three season passes aren't going to make or break the business, but as a customer, I definitely feel like I got screwed over for simply trusting the information I was given by the employees.

Located just minutes from downtown Riverside, it's a popular destination for both locals and visitors. Parking is available at the park, but even early in the morning you'll likely find the lot busy with hikers and families enjoying the area. A unique tradition takes place on the last Saturday of every month, when local men's church groups gather at 6:30 a.m. to hike to the summit and hold a "Sermon on the Mount" service. I highly recommend visiting Mount Rubidoux. The hike is enjoyable, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the panoramic views from the top are absolutely amazing.

We arrived at 7am on a Sunday and already had to park a little farther in the back. There is no shade but the views are great! Very fun to climb the stairs at the top. The trails converge at a point in the middle and there are two ways to the top. Going to the right is a slightly longer route but the incline is easier and more gradual. Going to the left is where the tower and bridge are. Have fun!
