Not as nice as it used to be

Been coming for years, they have increased in price which is understandable due to inflation but the customer service went down. The staff are not as friendly. They used to have more chairs but they took away a lot of the seating to force people to buy cabanas and umbrella seating. The few chairs that they do have are very worn and need to be replaced. Today July 5 2024, the staff at the lazy River were a bit rude and making a big deal about googles. The kiddos should be allowed to use googles it not that big of a deal!

Make sure you check their hours on their actual website which may not be reflected in yelp, google or travel advisors. You can buy tickets on their website but it's super clunky. You have to create an account and a profile for each person you are buying a ticket for. Here are my thoughts after going to this waterpark: 1) Targeted at 3 to 12 year olds. Anyone older is going to be bored with what they offer 2) Food is not as overpriced as I thought it would be. $6.50 for hamburger, $4.00 for hot dog, $6.00 for corn dog and $3.00 for a bottle of water. Not saying all of that is cheap, but not as bad as other parks. 3) Is an older park so some white chairs are stained but we were fine. The bathrooms are older and could use an update but for the most park, they were reasonably clean 4) Water was clean from what I could see. There is debris from the palm trees, but that's the price of having shade nearby 5) No chairs or umbrellas allowed inside. It's not on their website but there is a big sign at the check-in table 6) I had a can of Pringles in my bag and no one checked 7) Shade is absolutely limited here. Check the picture I attached - I circled two areas green and purple, which are the only areas for chairs and shade that is offered without paying additional money. In the green area which is probably most desirable, there are five umbrellas. In the purple area, there is like eight. All the blue covered areas are areas you have to pay to be in. But, most people want to be in the green area which is how I guess the park pushes people to buy the cabanas. Would only come back if we didn't have to fight for shade. If you add in the cost of a cabana, it exceeds or is the same price of a bigger waterpark.

    July2024, Luxury Cabana no shade

Visited the park in July on a weekday. We rented a cabana which was nice, we even had our own personal waiter. They allow you to take food in with a "cooler fee" of $30. Food is mediocre, only fountain drinks are served. Park was pretty clean throughout, the only thing is there wasn't nearly enough pool floats for the lazy river so be prepared to wait for one to become available. Also, they DO NOT provide any life jackets. Lastly, it was a bummer when they closed the big slide at 6:30. Please be aware that even though it states the park closes at 7:00, the fun areas close earlier, even the kid splash area closes at 6:45.

We hit a gem when we found this water park. It's not too big or too small. My kids love coming here. Perfect place to cool off when the weather strikes over 100 degrees. We always have a good time.

Diligent lifeguards, my grandson enjoys the high dive the best. They do need more rafts.

We had such a blast literally enjoyed all the rides we did get to experience which were plenty and did some toss the ball and ring toss with Saul whom was also helped by Jake in accommodating our group. The Big top restaurant had joyful people working even with the influx of people. Castle Park is not what it used to be. Ever since the new owners took over, they've basically…read moredoubled the prices while giving people less. They got rid of the all-you-can-eat food option, made people buy the food pass beforehand, then told us we had to return it once we got there. Nothing about this place feels affordable anymore for local families. What makes it worse is that a lot of the rides still aren't even fixed, so it's hard to understand why prices went up so much in the first place. Castle Park used to be a fun, local spot where families could bring their kids without spending a fortune. That feeling is gone now. The new ownership seriously needs to listen to the community and remember the people who supported this place for years. Right now it just feels overpriced, disappointing, and nothing like the Castle Park people grew up loving.
