Normally, I don't write reviews, but in this case, I feel one is definitely deserved: We've had an absolutely wonderful experience with Aquatic Zone, and we couldn't recommend this swim school more highly. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted by friendly, smiling faces who genuinely care about every family that comes in. A very special thank you goes to Christi, who does an outstanding job in Customer Service. She is always approachable, incredibly kind, and goes above and beyond to make things possible. One thing that really sets Aquatic Zone apart is that you're always dealing with real people--not bots or AI. Every interaction feels personal, warm, and thoughtful. We'd also like to recognize Ryan, Lily, Tiffanie, and Adrian. They are all fantastic, caring professionals who truly want every child to succeed. Adrian has been an exceptional swim instructor, and thanks to his patience and expertise, our child has become an excellent swimmer over the past year and a half. What we appreciate most is the patience shown to every child. Even when progress takes a little longer than expected, no one gives up. The instructors take the time to understand each child's individual needs and always work to find the best solution. If something doesn't go exactly as planned, the team listens, communicates, and does everything they can to make it right. The only thing I love about this place is the instructor Amanda. The service provided by front desk and customer service phone line is terrible. I feel like Gen Z runs this place. Good and bad. Full disclosure my family used our school's charter funds to sign up our (then) 5 yr old for first time swim lessons. My child had zero experience swimming or being in a pool. I thought this would be a great way to use our funds and teach him pool safety. Fast forward to today, my son has since turned 7 this year, and he still does not know how to swim or even put his head under the water. Granted, we were not going consistently. But for the past 3 months we have taken him weekly. Before that we did 2 other months I believe. I thought, let's just keep trying, maybe it's just that he's scared and he'll learn if we stick it out. My child struggles with sensory issues and has not been interested in getting his face wet. He also has a harder time being around other kids in very close proximity which, he definitely is here. He did the group lessons for 30 mins and they're basically shoulder to shoulder most of the time. So, the good: when he first started he really liked the two different teachers that worked w/him. The class was usually just him and one other child. The location is clean, and the staff seemed friendly. My son also mostly enjoyed the time and being in the pool, so it was good for getting more experience around other kids, teachers and being in a new environment. The negative: the teachers rotate so you never know who you're going to get. So one teacher might know where your kid is at, but then a new person comes in the next week and it's like starting all over. It seems hard to build a comfortable relationship with the teachers because of this as well. Also, my son never progressed much at all. He moved to the larger pool this year and it's been 3 kids to 1 teacher. recently, however, there were 4 kids in the class. I timed it on my phone out of curiosity- to see exactly how much 1:1 time he got during that class. 4 mins and 9 seconds. Total. The class moved like a conveyor belt just shuffling the kids around, I couldn't believe the kids were getting less than 5 mins each with the teacher. The time in between their turn, they're just holding on to the edge of the pool waiting. My son felt very cramped and two other kids were being kids and having fun but disrupting the class, so the teacher's attention was mainly spent on telling them to stop doing what they were doing. My son was frustrated and felt like he wasted his time. He also had safety concerns because the kids were practically on top of him at times and kicking and splashing in his personal space, so I don't blame him. He's already afraid as it is. Today we went back and there were 4 kids again. He just didn't want to do it again. The kids seem to be on a hamster wheel. The teachers, though friendly, simply don't have adequate time to actually teach the kids anything solid. It's like busy work. I also had a strange phone conversation with the owner recently. to be frank, she kept trying to rush me off the phone and I kept having to say "oh, wait sorry" (nicely) because i had more than one question but she seemed bothered with me. She also didn't explain about making up a certain day and how many days I had to reschedule when my kid got sick. You only get one make up class for the whole year which seems odd to me. We already missed two classes due to vacation (1 planned reschedule) and sickness (she apparently gave us 7 days from the date of the class to reschedule but didn't actually communicate that to me- I found out from the girls at the front desk AFTER the fact and the 7 days passed, which was frustrating because I would have brought him in. I guess I was supposed to assume what she meant when she asked "what does he have??" As in asking what illness he had. I said idk, a cold I think? But wasn't sure. So she "made a note" on her end but never specified that I had to come in within 7 days to make it up. Which really was just a courtesy reschedule because they don't even offer that. So, oh well. Honestly though, even beyond all this, I could see and feel the judgement when I mentioned today that my kid was more easily overwhelmed and we would maybe look into one on one classes for the future. I got the impression that there was very little understanding or empathy there for my child, and my family and I felt brushed off. Bottom line, just not for us. 4 kids is too many for one pool. 4 mins is not enough time to give each kid when you're paying for 30. Maybe one on one classes are different, or with smaller groups, but I had too many incidents where I brought up a concern and felt dismissed. In the future we'll be going elsewhere but I'm bummed we went for so long with really not much to show for it. At the very least my kid got a little more comfortable being in the water but for paying about $400-$500 total and like 4-5 months of weekly classes? I would not say this was worth that time or money unfortunately. read more

We had an excellent experience with AquaticZone! Our daughter, Hazel, can now swim confidently without floaties, and we couldn't be happier with her progress. Communication with Christi was always professional, friendly, and constructive. Our swim instructor, Ryan, did an outstanding job. He was patient, encouraging, and helped Hazel build both her skills and her confidence in the water. Whenever Ryan wasn't available, Tiff stepped in and did a fantastic job as well, ensuring the same high standard of instruction. One piece of advice we received from the AquaticZone team was to let Hazel swim without floaties at all times. We followed that recommendation consistently, and she made remarkable progress in a very short time. Practicing this way helped her develop strong water confidence and independence. Our main goal was for our daughter to become a confident swimmer--not to make things easier for us at pool parties or family outings. Customer service needs work. Front desk is not helpful. Unreachable through phone calls and only text messages you. Even when they text message you, they don't inform you about the program. It's just very dry responses. It really discourages building relationships with the staff and customers. Hope they improve on that. read more

If you're looking to spend 4+ months and $500+ to end up with your kid barely learning to doggie paddle, Aquatic zone is your spot! Out of the 4 lessons my son took there, he was never evaluated. They stuck him in the basic class and never took the time to ask us where he was at or what he could do. Our son was competent swimming under water, he just needed some help getting better at swimming above. They only teach more as you pay more. I've talked to other families who have had the same experience and was why they stopped going as well. Pretty disappointing. read more

We've been going here for swim lessons for our kids over the past year and the staff is always so friendly. Teachers are great with the kids & their skills are always improving each time. I have absolutely loved everything about The Aquatic Zone! From the very beginning, everything has been amazing. Signing up on their website was so easy. Classes are 30 mins long and each of the instructors are phenomenal! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. It is so neat to watch how engaged they are with all the children. It has been such a great place to meet new families. The facility is so nice and always clean. The pools are heated so even during the winter months our little one hasn't had any issues. Everyone should, at minimum, know how to swim your way out of a pool. I've seen many a video of tiny infants learning life-saving skills to survive. And that is where Acquatic Zone steps in to help. My granddaughter is 9 yo, and it was not too long ago she could not even place her face in the water, let alone float or dog paddle, without panicking. She gets lessons once a week, and thankfully, it's a completely different story now. The instructors appear to be all young adults, friendly, patient, and relate well to their students. The facilities are clean, and there is space set aside for family to watch the classes. Pools are indoors with multiple classes available at many skill levels. My only gripe was actually over the entry location. The address is on 6th Street, a well traveled thoroughfare in Corona. But, beware! Being the first time to ever go there, we discovered the 6th Street driveway was chained off. Probably done for good reason, this caused us confusion and some crazy maneuvers. Just know that the actual parking and entry to the facility is only accessible from the back of the property from a residential street that parallels 6th Street, aka 7th Street, via Rimpau Ave.. Be sure to map it if this area is unfamiliar to you. I am very pleased with the outcome for my granddaughter and the instructors. read more

t was my daughter's first day at this location. Instead of doing a slow approach to get my daughter comfortable with this new setting, the instructor immediately tried to get her in the water. My daughter was hesitant but fine. There was a bag of water toys literally next to her. My daughter grabbed one toy. The instructor rushed to her and said no toys yet, and took it out of her hands. My daughter started crying and refused to go back in the water. Simple training with child development is to redirect the child. Not use negative words and taking things out of their hands. My daughter lasted less than 2 minutes in the class. This place is not equipped to work with younger children. No warmth with the other kids in the pool nor positive reinforcement. The kids were going through the motions but there was no excitement. There was an additional issue that came up. We requested a make up day for the following week as I will be out of town and my wife, being pregnant, is not comfortable going into warm water. They could not accommodate as it was against their policy. I get that. But the lady asked my wife if she was uncomfortable going into the water pregnant. Not an appropriate question and not her business. Additionally, she asked if we had a friend or relative to take her into the pool instead. Again, not her business. The answer is no. My wife and I do not have any support for our daughters. Unprofessional approach to handling the issue. Since we were not satisfied, we requested a refund as we were not going to continue with the class. There was ZERO care of our decision. Clear indicator that this place does not value their customers. Very sad to see places like this that work with children. read more

My daughter has been attending classes here since she was 6 months old, we have gone through a number of teachers due to my schedule changing and having to switch classes. Every single teacher is so friendly and highly trained! Now as a 3 year old, my daughter still loves coming to swim each week and is so confident in the water while also understanding water safety. Her progression here has exceeded my expectations with only one lesson a week and occasional breaks from lessons. We've been coming for almost two months and so far everything's been great. My two year old is registered in the Water Babies class and my 4 year old twins are in the Frogs class. We love how good Ms Amanda is with the babies. She has a great attitude and my daughter responds well to her. Ms Tiffanie is also great with our twins and enforces rules, but isn't too aggressive about it. Despite my older daughter having a sensitive personality, she tells me she really likes her teacher. My only complaint is that I wish the progress was faster. Since the classes are only 30 minutes each and each time they do the exact same thing in the same order, I think it will be a while before my kids advance to the next class or actually learn how to swim. However, the pricing is very affordable and my kids have a blast and always look forward to class so we'll keep attending. They are getting more comfortable in the water which I know is the point of the beginner classes. I also like that you can manage most things online through their portal and if you cancel (at least 4 hours in advance), you can book a make up session. You're allowed to do this max once a month. This system works great for us because I have a relatively flexible schedule and they allow make up sessions on Wednesday or Friday. read more

We have been coming to Aquatic Zone for about 2 years. To say that we appreciate the dedication, consistency, and care they have shown towards our family would be an understatement. My son had a bad case of "stranger danger" and wouldn't let anyone teach or work with him. Ms. Jennie not only helped him with swimming but we attribute his personal growth to her as well. Hidden Gem in Corona. Christi was super accommodating and answered all my 100+ questions. The facility is now open Sundays and the teacher to student ratio reduced 3:1. Easy online payment program, sibling discount, and a $15 enrollment fee. The place is also clean. They even wipe down the benches after people leave. Highly recommended. Tip. I started with the baby class with my first born when she was 10 months. (2016) My second child started with the baby class also. (2020) got held up a bit with the pandemic but as soon as we were able to we were back in class. Both my kids are amazing swimmers and comfortable in the water. Attend the classes & try not to miss to maintain the muscle memory. Needless to say, I'm very satisfied with the teaching methods by all of the swim instructors who've taught my kids; Jillian, Jenny, Mikey, Ryan all are phenomenal (mentioning them by name because my kids worked with them specifically) I can't say enough wonderful things about the aquatic zone and their swim instructors. Coming here isn't a necessity like it use to be as he knows how to handle the water. Now it's about honing his abilities so he can grow as a swimmer. My family just loves AZ! I tried a popular swim school in Winchester, CA that gave my water-loving youngest child a phobia of water. It took nearly eight months to talk her into trying swimming lessons again. Her first instructor at AZ had her loving water again in just one session. It's been three months and one of my three kiddos has graduated from her first class. The other two have progressed so much, but I appreciate that the instructors let each child progress at their own pace. My kids have worked with four different instructors and have loved each one of them. I reached out to this place with the same question twice via email inquiring about the schedule before I pay for the classes and got no reply so I call and I feel I'm met with some sort of attitude from Christi who is talking about the days and times that they are open is on their website and the classes are every 30 min. Well Ma'am you could have simply replied that in the email when I asked you twice and you could have not been so snide about it... like I'm trying to spend money with you. I don't understand... if something is not clear why not try to help potential customers out. New people aren't going to know exactly how you run and how everything goes. Customer service! My little ones wanted to take a glance at the pool as this will hopefully get them comfortable of wanting to take swim classes. We walked in & the door monitor worker said tours must be scheduled in advance and I understood due to health and safety reasons. Although the kids were disappointed not being able to see the swimming area, I then asked a simple question about sibling discount. The door monitor worker didn't have an answer to that and instead of asking a coworker at the desk area, she told me to call the Aquatic Zone phone number. I'm thinking why since I'm at the facility. As my family walked out, the exit door was open and my daughter stepped in while holding my hand. As I was redirecting her, the pool instructor waved the door monitor worker over, looked at us, and literally covered her mouth while whispering in the door monitor's ear while looking at us. Really? ? Door monitor worker went to the exit door and shut it in our face. I understand they have to follow protocol but the whole situation was petty and discouraging. I didn't feel welcomed from the beginning and the vibe was off once we stepped foot into the building. I've had my 1 yr old in classes at Aquatic Zone years ago and felt very welcomed. I'm just disappointed as I was interested sending my two little ones, but I will probably look into lessons elsewhere. read more

We've been attending for over a month now, so far so good. The instructor who works with our son is kind and patient especially with a toddler. The inside lobby is clean and cool in this heat, also has merchandise for sale. I suppose the only thing I'd complain about is it's more of a per class session fee than a monthly fee, most places regardless if there's 4 or 5 weeks charge a monthly rate... here you'll pay about 19.00 a session so it varies monthly. There's plenty of rooms to change, plenty of seating for waiting parents and an easy check in system with your QR code. read more

Both our girls (18m and 4.5) started lessons here 2 months ago and we are super impressed by the 1-1 attention they each get. Their skills have already improved so much and all of the staff are patient, kind and enthusiastic - especially Jocelyn, Colin and Victoria! We cannot say enough great things about them!! As sad as I was today with the way our swim lessons had changed, I realize that the staff did a great job in these circumstances. I also realize that it's not there fault for these changes. It's sad that the covid pandemic has changed the way things are ran at places. I seriously had no idea about how different it would be but the thoughtfulness and true dedication made to Aquatic Zone made me look at things so differently. I am hoping we will be back when the pandemic is over maybe in the next few months to come. I will say though the owner of the Aquatic Zone was about the sweetest most generous gal. Her name is Christy. I am so glad I had the opportunity to talk to her about what is going on with the swim lessons during this pandemic. She was so insightful and kind! She took out time in her day to explain to me what was going on and that I am truly thankful for. I realize during this pandemic I have been so frustrated so she was so kind and patient with me. The pool was very clean and the instructors were so nice. It's a shame there was graffiti on the outside of the building. I am hoping Corona counsel-men can get the Downtown part cleaned up. Victoria was my son's instructor and she was very encouraging to him. She was patient and gave my son great opportunities to learn using incentives to inspire him to swim. I will say the car and boats helped him to swim to the wall so that was great! My daughter took lessons here the last few months. She really enjoyed it! We especially liked Mikey as he was patient and made the classes enjoyable for her. Pools are clean, there's little changing stations for after lessons as well as showers. Everyone has been friendly and accommodating.
