Dave Fair, who owns the shop, is knowledgeable and friendly. He came highly recommended by Fran (of Fran's Auto Repair, also in Southie) and I am very happy I took my car to him! Also, it doesn't hurt that he's in walking distance since I didn't pay to get a rental car rider in my insurance. After a car slammed into our passenger door, I realized we were going to need to get that sucker fixed so we could open the window. Dave took a look and gave me an estimate, even showing me where in the pricing book his estimates came from. He gave me suggestions for how to keep the repairs cheaper, then asked me to consider using my insurance to pay for the repair. He knew my insurance company and the agent they would use to give the estimate and that made things really easy - I just submitted my claim and in 2 weeks I have a new door. My car is not in the best shape otherwise, and Dave generously buffed out some of the scratches in the car and gave me advice on how to make the scratches less noticeable. Overall, it was a good experience, I feel like he treated me fairly and honestly, and my car looks great - cleaned inside and out to boot! read more

My car had sustained damage to the left front fender, front bumper and rear bumper in separate incidents. I had already scheduled a time to have the front end repaired when a relative accidentally backed into me. I called Dave to let him know that I needed more work done, and he was more than accommodating. I bought the car used, it was a one owner. I was unaware that it had been in a previous front end collision. Dave showed me some things that were either missing from that repair, or not fixed properly. A couple items were minor details that I otherwise wouldn't have noticed. The fact that he brought them to my attention speaks volumes. The car looks amazing now, and I'm very happy. I recently brought my car into Dave's shop to get fixed after I was rear-ended in a hit and run accident. Even though the accident was not my fault, I was going to have to pay my $500 deductible because they never caught the guy. My boyfriend had recently brought his car to Fair Auto Body and highly recommended that I go see Dave. I am so glad I did, as not only did he repair my car in less than a week, he also fixed another unrelated dent free of charge and ended up saving me over $250, I only had to pay around $230 out of pocket, not to mention my car looks brand new. I would definitely recommend Fair Autobody to anyone in need of an autbody shop that is affordable and produces dealership quality work. I recently brought my jeep in and Dave took a lot of detailed notes when writing my estimate, which I got faxed to me later in the day. I had brought my car to several autbody shops to make sure I was getting a good estimate (especially since I'm a young girl, didnt want to get scammed), and I found that Dave gave me the most comprehensive estimate, for the best price, with original dealer parts, and I would get my car back the quickest. He was also very personable when answering all my questions. I dropped my car off Monday morning and he said it would be ready by Friday. It was done early and I was able to pick it up Thursday right after work! The car was also cleaned inside and out, and you could not even see where any of the damage had been. My car looks as good as new! I would definitely bring my car back to Fair Autbody again if need be. read more

I will recomend this shop until I am blue in the face. Dave is incredible and did wonders for my car. He did a ton of touch ups without me even asking him and was 100% honest and clear about the work that would be done to my car. While the car was being worked on I had to leave town suddenly for a family emergency and he made all the pick up arrangements with my boyfriend without hesitatation. Dave was recommended to me by my roommate and I had an absolutely wonderful experience. He made the whole process extremely easy and even picked up and dropped off my car for me from my apartment in Southie since he was working out of his home shop. Since I work downtown during the week, this made my life particuarly easy since I didn't have to worry about driving it out of my way to have it repaired! When he was working on my car, he called to update me periodically on the different price quotes he had received for the brake pads and tires that I needed to have replaced. I particuarly appreciated this so I knew exactly what I was paying for and why different parts cost what they did. Recently I was rear ended and needed my entire bumper replaced. From the first phone call inquiring about having my car fixed to Dave of Fair Auto Body personally dropping off my repaired car, my entire experience was outstanding. Fair Auto Body used to be located in South Boston and that's how I was lucky enough to stumble upon the phone number. They have since moved but provide pick up and delivery of your car within a certain proximity of the shop. The best thing to know about Fair Auto Body is that you will be dealing with a company run by honest, genuine, & hardworking people. My car was picked up on a Saturday, they dealt with insurance company, they work with Enterprise rental car if you need a rental like I did, and I had my car returned, sparkling clean, looking brand new in less than a week ! Getting into an accident is never a pleasant experience but I am thankful that Fair Auto Body made dealing with the aftermath such an easy process. Some drunk college kids vandalized my SUV's back door and brake light compartment. Dave was one of the shops recommended by my insurance company. He came by my office in Southie to see the damage and sent me a quote the next day. It was very reasonable. I gave him the thumbs up and the next week he came by the office and picked up my car to take to his shop. When he returned it I could not see where there had ever been any damage. I read yelp and cartalk reviews about Fair Auto body and only saw good things, so I decided I would go there when my side mirror got bumped into and broken. Dave was a huge help- he looked at my car right that minute, he looked up the price for a repair, and I didn't have enough money to fix it immediately, so he worked with my mirror so we could rig it on temporarily until I can save up money to fix it. I had an incredible experience working with Dave and Fair Auto Body. My car was hit while parked and I expected to have headaches getting it fixed. My insurance company sent me a list with hundreds of names; I called around to a few places and thought 'oh this is going to suck'. My last call was to Dave, and I wish it were my first -from the instant he said hello I knew he was the real deal. He was so genuine and really cared about fixing my car. He made the paperwork aspect SIMPLE, and followed up continually to let me know the status of my car, keeping me in the loop on things like acknowledging he received my paperwork, that he scheduled the adjuster to come out, that parts were ordered, etc. To top it off, he made arrangements to pick my car up (which needed to be towed) and delivered it back to me as well. I've never had such a positive experience, and would give him a 10-star-out-of-five ranking if I could. Don't call anyone else, in fact stop reading this post and call him now. He truly is amazing.
