We were very excited to try the three course dinner. I had the duck, beef and then chocolate dessert. My friend had the scallops, sea trout then panna cotta. I wish I could say loved the food but our starters and desserts were just decent. The orange bread to start the meal was pretty decent. I'm not sure what it was, looked like it had some cranberries and was on the sweeter side. My duck was nothing special and I felt everything on the plate outweighed the duck flavor and did not pair well. The highlight was the main course even though the steak was a bit over cooked as I had ordered medium. The sauce it was served in was fantastic, the mushroom, potato and onion were also cooked well. Dessert however was ok. Nothing too special although it was pretty. The service was friendly but nothing exceptional, could have been slightly more attentive given the restaurant wasn't full. The menus were a bit dirty and very scratched on the outside. I'd recommend they tidy these up to enhance the fine dining experience. Overall it was a bit expensive for the quality in my opinion. If you are able to order only the main course I would recommend that.

Amazing! To experience the modern 21st Century aesthetics in a 12th Century Castle, enjoying and engaging the history as you sip on fine Cognac as a late-night Cocktail or Nightcap could not be any more remarkable than experiencing it here! The feel of history abounds in the preserved atmosphere, with the spaciousness and décor of this sophisticated Pub. This distinctive place is similar no other - going back in time, with the convenience and comfort of today. The food is excellent, the Wait Staff Superb, and management knows how to make your visit excuisite. Even if you do not have the opportunity to actually stay at the Clontarf Castle, stopping in for a drink or dinner, is well worth the trip while in Dublin. Kudos to the management and staff who make the visit ever more so the incredible experience it is.

4/11/23 - ordered a few drinks from the bar and they delivered to a table outside the restaurant for us. Will try the restaurant another day. The menu is in the photos. Waitress was very nice and the drinks were good. 4/12/23- trying the buffet for 19.99 per person. See the photos. So far the food isn't full and only leftovers. Back to 3 stars See photos. Will update more later.

This restaurant is tucked away in the super cool Clontarf Castle. The building itself is filled with history but with all the modern amenities you would expect. It is a low light romantic setting with a formal feel. We were seated immediately and had a nice comfortable table. After looking over the wine and drink menu, a little champagne was just right. The limited seasonal menu was varied enough to make most people happy. I went with the haddock and risotto and my wife the mushroom agnolotti. Both were excellent and full of great flavors. It was a great meal. It came with bread to start and a little Sorbet in between. Overall we really liked our meal and think it's a great place for hotel guests of those looking for a nicer meal in Dublin.

Overwhelmed all the way around. The place was much nicer than even the pictures so we originally felt a little underdressed but we were fine from what I saw others wearing. The maitre d was very astute and appropriate and warmed up as we went along, just as to be expected. We arrived about 40 minutes early but were gladly accommodated because they had availability. We were given a beautiful and large table in the bay window with a full view of a gorgeous dining room with appropriate decor for an ancient castle including many bohemian amethyst crystal chandeliers and finally greeted by a very lovely waitress, Sophia whom we found is from a familiar area of Germany to us. The food was amazing. I had the volute for my starter which was amazing Two of us ordered the featherblade which I had no need for a knife except to help me gather it back to my fork as it was so tender it was falling apart. One of us ordered the pork. We took advantage of the table d'hôte menu. We ended with two deserts not mentioned on the menu online. One was blackberry and the other was a lemon. I will post pictures of all of it. Beautiful restaurant, wonderful atmosphere, timelessly wonderful hotel and an amazingly kind waitress all made for a birthday dinner that made me happy to turn 50! If you're anywhere near Dublin, I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant well worth every quid. I could talk for days about how this dinner salvaged a rainy day in Dublin but capped off many good experiences we had that day. Thank you Fahrenheit for a lovely evening.

We opted for the hotel buffet breakfast due to convenience and price: if you're like me and prefer a full breakfast, €12 pp is pretty reasonable. The buffet runs from 6:30a-10:30a. The selection is impressive and included the fixings for an Irish breakfast: sunny-side up eggs (most with firmer yolks), scrambled eggs, rasher, sausage, black and white pudding, potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, wedges of soda bread. Additionally, they had: smoked salmon and capers, cheeses, a few yogurts, multiple fruits, multiple breads and pastries, cereals and cereal bars, fruit and fruit smoothies, and three spreads: Nutella, lemon curd, and seasonal jam. The juices were also very nice. The most impressive to me were the DIY juicing station with carrots and a full piece of honeycomb dripping fresh honey! I enjoyed many of the breakfast items. Note that the yogurts are VERY tart (and I eat plain unsweetened skyr regularly)! I suggest adding some honey. Also, the rasher was the driest and saltiest I'd had on my entire holiday (and I ate it various places nearly daily). Service was a bit odd. The first day we dined in, the server kept trying to take our plates: as in, we were still holding silverware in our hands, and she put her hands on our plates to remove them while we were still eating. So, a bit overzealous that day, but it was better the next. Overall, I was quite impressed with the Fahrenheit restaurant: it was a beautiful atmosphere with a comprehensive breakfast spread!

Buffet breakfast is excellent here!

I got the eggs Benedict. Perfectly poached eggs, crispy bacon, muffins, hollindase sauce and mixed leaf salad drizzled in oil- delicious. @€10 not to bad either but not amazing value considering what you can get for an extra €2- The works! The 'mister' had 'the works', basically the same as what i'd gotten except the added 2 sausages, yummy fried potatoes, tomato, black and white pudding and homemade baked beans-yummy. (I know cause I robbed some) Over all.. The price is on the higher side of things especially for the area it's in. The food was good though and I would go back if not again for brunch, then dinner. It's now my new favorite local food place! Oh and on leaving we spotted the humongous scones. Tea/coffee + a scone, jam and cream only €4.50 not bad.

The restaurant itself is cute overlooking the bay (low tide when we came) but you could tell it had great views. We had two staff helping us out and they were both so very nice. Being tourists I sometimes wonder if we'll be treated differently, especially at a more locals spot but not here. Everyone was friendly and attentive from start to finish. Menu was impressive. I like going to a restaurant where it's hard to choose what to order. The menu is pretty big for dinner and I was definitely stuck between a few items which is a good problem to have. Cocktails were primarily spritz's but at least they had that. I just opted for my classic Bulmers and I was happy. For my dinner I had the prawn tacos which were delicious. This isn't authentic Mexican food or anything like that but they still made a tasty taco. The ingredients were super fresh and delicious. The prawns were huge and had a great seasoning. My friends all got the fried cheese tacos and those were the real star of the night. The tacos come with chips but I opted to substitute for their stir fried teriyaki veggies. Happy I got this and if you need a break from fries this was a good side. Ended with a brownie with ice cream. The brownie was more like a brownie cake than a traditional brownie in my opinion but it's okay, it was still super tasty and the chocolate sauce was marvelous. The atmosphere here was great and it was definitely a nice spot to come to dinner with the girls. Priced are around ~€20 for lunch options. In short, I would go for lunch or dinner, not really breakfast unless it's for coffee.

Our entrees included the beef that melted in your mouth. It's served rare and it's totally tender. The sea bass was also excellent. It's served of the bone with mussels, brocholini in a curry based sauce. It was a very generous portion. The potatoes served with the dishes were great. My wife had a tawny port and I chose the cider-see pic. It was delicious and refreshing. We didn't enjoy dessert and so I can't comment. I highly recommend this place!

What a beautiful event!…read more i've noticed events like this creep up in popularity around Dublin and isn't it a richer place for it. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's nights like this that instill in you a pride in being Irish, and a pride in our past, present and future. Honestly there were some parts that gave me goosebumps, the type I get every now and again when I'm wandering around the city and realise that after eight years away, I can honestly say there is no place in the world I would rather live right now. It's hard to decide what the highlight is. I won't go into massive detail as those before have, but allow me to point out the bones of what makes this into such a gorgeous way to spend a Saturday; - The setting. Old Georgian wooden stairs that are worn down in the middle by hundreds of years of stepping on them, the old crumbling cornicing, the candle lit old antique tables. - The food. Each course was a perfect size, and the perfect representation of modern x traditional Irish cuisine. Quality ingredients, beautifully presented - The talks in between courses by food historian Máirtín Mac Con Iomaire. Funny, informative, nostalgic, and funny again. If you didn't pick up on it already, I would highly recommend this as a night out. For any age, those who live here and are visiting, those who grew up here and those that are now making Ireland their home.

Fish should have been left to drain off a bit while the potatoes were being warmed. Anyway my sons huge Buttermilk Burger & chips went down a treat. Loved that tea came in a non drip teapot but would have been nicer with a spoon of sugar. After seeing my son drop 2 sugar lumps trying to retrieve them from a tiny jar that teaspoon didnt fit in put me off having any, especially realising that only little fingers could fit in that jar and wondering if the lumps fall out on others 'do they just pop them back in jar again'? More hygienic way of serving sugar should be looked at. Having seen the dinner menu I am interested to go back again and give the Hudson Rooms another try. The ambiance, pleasant staff and competitive pricing has warranted at least another visit with higher expectations.

The spot is located up a literal winding staircase that takes you into an inviting room that boasts a lovely view of the river below. We didn't go to the third floor, but I can imagine it was equally lovely. They've got an impressive wine list and a moderate beer list that's predominantly bottle. Interestingly they don't have spirits so the mixed drinks are wine cocktails - boss! I tried a white port and tonic drink - seriously next level! I don't often find wine cocktails and even more rarely are they really good! The menu is impressive and seasonal, save the potted crab and haddock, which are on all the time. It should be know for any who dine with our crew, that we share a lot, so everything we had was enjoyed by all 5 of us. The crab was unbelievable! Creamy, flavorful, magical. The beef cheek and fish plate were also perfect for sharing. We also had two scotch eggs - these could have a Klondike bar (look it up youngins!) like marketing campaign! We shared the Haddock and the Pigs on Green Port Tenderloin. Both were awesome, with the Haddock more memorable. We haven't had such delicious mashed fish since Iceland and the cheddar mash and onions were the perfect accoutrement! The chocolate fondant was delicious and the bread and butter bread pudding was life changing. The whiskey sauce is something I'd swim in if given the chance! It was lick the plate good. The service was spot on and we got out of there for about €50 a person, full and happy! The whole evening was excellent and this place definitely deserves the accolades. If you're in the area, you should check it out!

This is evident by the name drop of some producers in each dish. My family was able to try a scotch egg for the first time, some beef cheek, crab and a charcuterie board with meats from Cork. Even the beers we ordered were local as well, mine from the Waterford area. Our server walked us through this experience with ease and we all couldn't be happier with our time here, especially for a Sunday afternoon when it could have been a lot louder and chaotic.
