This place was kinda tucked away in the back of a shopping plaza but good thing the letters are bright green and very large so you kinda see it as you drive/pull in. Upon walking in we were told to sit anywhere, the waitress walked up to us looking like "what do you want to order" and we were like we don't have menus lol so she went to get them and we decided pretty quickly on what to get because they had a lunch special for weekends. She was attentive and nice but I would've liked more water, it was a plastic water bottle. We ended up getting the stewed chicken (a little overcooked) but had a good flavor, with jolloff rice it was good. It also came with beans, they are interesting because they were sweet tasting. My dinner companion opted for the greens instead of beans so I could try them. They were good and spicy but had a fishy taste, he said it was from crawfish powder or something. I forgot we also got plantains as well, they were good too. All in all the meal include a lot of food for the price, it was pretty decent.

Love their food their Jollof is nice, pounded yam with egusi is recommended. New location on Mableton park way is convenient too

    Jollof rice, Chicken, plantains

I was REALLY hoping to like this spot. I wanted to be "extra" and order some African food while me and the kids watched C2A. My sister told me how good this place was, so I was excited, especially since AYO had nasty comments about them (a dog in the back and a can of Raid out on the counter .) Any who, FAD was a disappointment. The chicken was DRY and the plantains were also DRY and OLD... The food wasn't even hot. That mess seemed like it was just chilling on the counter for like 9 hours. ‍ The jollof rice was okay. I also liked the good customer service, too. But they need to get it together on the old and dried out plantains they served me and that dry behind chicken... waste of money and time.

This is my go to spot for Fine African Dining. All of my favorites are on the menu. I've brought my friends and family here for authentic Nigerian food. Make sure you stop by in Friday evenings for the live band!!

FAD IS HORRIBLE SO STINK N SO NASTY Been trying To find an African restaurant with better Egusi then Ayo African After trying this one I don'think I ever will find one better than Ayo it smelled really really bad even though the taste was not bad it smell like Doodoo And me having a Nigerian boyfriend I know what things are supposed to smell and taste like I told the owner he was very very nice about the situation and told me I could come up and trade it for something else but the smell really turn me off and also I live about 30 minutes away from his restaurant so that is not plausible.. after eating the egusi I feel like my mouth smells like shit‼ I will not ever be coming back to this place and definitely will stay and wait for Ayo to be open on Mondays instead‼ I forgot to mention the POUNDED YAM WAS CLUMPY WELL OVER HALF OF THE FUFU WAS CLUMPY N plantain was almost black as tar and it smelt very weird All in all I ended up throwing half of it in the trash .. I was thinking about maybe giving it a way to the homeless but I don't even think they will eat this YOU COULDNT PAY ME TO TRY NOWHERE ELSE IM ONLY GOING TO AYO AFRICAN RESTURANT FROM NOW ON‼

The place was great! We went there on Saturday night. Were greeted warmly by a host who happened to be Fad himself. He was great and super helpful! He ordered all the dishes for us, described each of them beforehand to make sure that we can tolerate some of the spicy items. Our waitress was exceptional, adorable, friendly and super attentive. The place itself is very eccentric. It has several TVs that show different things. Additionally, it has a huge projector screen where they played Pop Nigerian music rather loud. We liked it all, food, people, music. Will definitely come back!

The best part of the meal was probably the seasonings they have sitting on the side of the counter where you order. I do not really know who works there. First there was a lady, then there was this kid, but the kid was sitting in the lounge when I first walked in and stood there for about 5 minutes at the bar before the lady in the back who was having a conversation with the lady who makes the food I guess came from behind and walked around to the register. Their menu has absolutely no pricing. I had the peanut butter soup, which was good, but a little disappointing because the majority of the meat was nothing but fat, and there was not that much meat in it honestly. The potato that was in it literally looked like that had just cut it in two and threw it in the soup. It was good, and not that bad portion wise, but if I had known it was almost $20 I probably would have gotten something else. I was hoping to try the hookah while I waited, but evidently all of the hookahs were in need of maintenance, so that was a bust. Would like to go back in the future, maybe when they have a crowd of people or something, but overall I was disappointed.

And when we called to ask about the hours - they never answer the phone and the voicemail box is always full. My neighbors who initially recommended them and raved about the Suya said they finally gave up on them because of the erratic hours. In fact, they said they ordered from Uber Eats from them a few weeks ago and the food never showed up. They called and couldn't get an answer and when they drove over, the place was closed. I'm sympathetic to anyone who is having trouble running their business due to Covid staffing shortages. And I'm even more sympathetic to anyone that has to close their business due to death in the family. I just don't think it's too much to ask that people update their voicemail greeting, social media pages and / or website when they have these emergencies. It is very hard to support small businesses when the business hours are unknown / inconsistent. Tip / Note to anyone trying to find the building. The signage out front (close to the road) says ' 1644 Tattoo Grill & Lounge .' The word "Tracxx" is very small and beneath the logo. And the '1644' refers to their address. The word "Tattoo" is on the sign because of the tattoo shop residing in the same 'plaza.' We actually drove by it the first time because the navigation was garbage and we thought the sign was for a spot called Tattoo Grill and Lounge. Lol. Don't laugh - remember Tattoo was Mr. Rourke's sidekick so I'm sure there are people with the nickname Tattoo. Lol.

From what I can…read moretell, this restaurant had some issues many years ago and reviews have been trending more positively lately. I've been to Nations Cafe a couple of times and I've had pretty good experiences, though there are definitely some areas for improvement. After speaking with some of the employees, I've learned that the main cuisine of the restaurant is Nigerian food. This was super cool to me, there are not many Nigerian restaurants in the area! This place gives you the full Nigerian experience. There are stews, soups, fufu, meats, seafood, vegetarian options, you name it! The menu is large and gives you plenty of options. I tend to stick with the stews when I order. The first time I visited, I ordered their beef stew and it was absolutely delicious. The stew itself packs a ton of flavor, there is definitely tomato, peppers and a whole lot of different spices in it. The beef was tender and flavorful as well. Each stew comes with two different sides. The jollof rice is a must! The rice is cooked perfectly and has so much flavor as well. When you combine the stew and rice together it is a flavor explosion, in a good way! Some other sides that I think are decent are the fried plantains and the cabbage. Those sides don't each touch the jollof rice in terms of quality. I tried to get the collard greens on my last visit, but they were out. Sad! I also recently got the hen stew. The stew was great yet again, but the hen was definitely dry. I definitely prefer the beef stew. While the food is generally good, the big problem of the restaurant is the service. Don't get me wrong, the people working there are super nice and pleasant to speak with. However every time I walk in, there isn't someone to accommodate me. My guess is that they are just surprised that I actually want to eat there, so this will get a slight pass. Throughout the meal though, the servers never check up on me. They are basically there to take my order, deliver the food and that's it! They could definitely do better! Another problem in my eyes are the prices. I spend about $30 on a single meal there, it's a bit hefty of a price. They also charge for water, which I didn't realize the first time. Again, this would've been helped on with better service! Although the restaurant does have some problems, I think the uniqueness of the food and its quality will have me going back. I certainly think you should give Nations Cafe a chance, it is so much better than the rating would suggest!
