I just had this last night and it was so nasty.. Mac and cheese was dry and the flavor tasted like it was set out for hours. Cheese was tough. It was just nasty. Curry chicken was flavorless. Came by for a quick lunch and was greeted by Denise she was the business owner, I asked for something affordable and quick and she recommended a jerk chicken bowl, it was perfect portion for the price and the hot sauce they make is insanely delicious. The building is super aesthetic giving Jamaican vibes. She said they were working on expanding and adding a bar on the other side of the building this is a place to try out and keep your eye on as they grow! Been coming here for years. Today my total was 22 dollars. I had 2 twenty's and they didn't have change. I did have an extra dollar and had 21 dollars but they didn't not accept it. The service is whatever, I have been to many Jamaican restaurants across many states...you don't for the service. I really want to give these guys a good rating. It's to go order thank goodness. Firstly I think the flavor and authenticity of the jerk chicken is great! I'm not Caribbean but I grew up in Jamaica, Queens and all my neighbors were from the islands, so I know good food! The size and portions tho, severely lacking...if I order a $20 large jerk chicken, I expect to see half a bird on my plate, like at Eats(Ponce deLeon) or Pollo Primo(Moreland Ave) Don't give me 2.5 pieces of chicken and call it a large portion. If I feel the value isn't compensatory with the price, I'll keep searching. I support small businesses but I feel "jerked ". I'll just drive to the Trini roti place in Marietta. read more

This restaurant opened under new ownership late last summer. It was a pandemic lifesaver. My husband love Jamaican food so I was happy to find this spot. The food is good, consistant and not salty. Their rice and peas is really good. I'm a fan of the escovitch fish ( so good - call ahead for that one), oxtails, stewed chicken and curry goat. That was not Jamaican jerk chicken!! it was terrible an under cook. I told the guy in the counter that I wanted the breast and rice and beans. He gave me the opposite, all dark meat under cook and white gluey rise. I disposed of the whole thing in the garbage. what a waste of money i will never come back to that place again. I was going to order 2 orders of oxtails until I found out it was gonna cost 60-70 dollars & I know oxtails are expensive but I also know where to find some of best oxtails for a good price "mojitos" dt norcross for example... anyway instead I order jerk chicken and even that was 20 dollars for a very small portion (rice was dry, chicken was bland & dry, and the cabbage went untouched & the plantains , I've had better) I also got a beef patty which was exceptionable. I'm so disappointed in this place because I thought I had found my new Jamaican spot, however in the last couple of months things have changed. For starters, their prices have gone up, which would be fine if the amount of food they give hadn't gone down. Their lunch special jerk chicken cost me $3.50 more and I was only given 2 small pieces of chicken (which were dry) & my plate wasn't even full. I would rather go somewhere else and pay more, but at least get a good amount of food. Not to mention, I was charged an extra $2 to put oxtail gravy ON my rice. Not even for a side. The gravy on top of my rice was a $2 upcharge, which I was not told on the phone. That's absolutely crazy to me since a side of gravy was just $0.50 a few months ago. The owner was the one taking my order she was very rude because she was "busy". I don't think I have ever been treated like that trying to help a business out. I am so happy for this business and the family running it; the food truly comes from a place of love. I have visited for a couple weekends and my order consists of the same thing every single time, ackee plate, no salt fish. I have lived in Atlanta for a little over 10 years now and when I say this spot is the only spot I can order a plate of ackee with green banana, yellow yam, boiled AND fried dumpling minus the salt fish (vegan), I truly mean it. On Saturday mornings, I'm able to call in my order as it is made to order specifically for the vegan version. The restaurant is new and they are currently seeking extra hands to make things run quickly and smooth, but not once has the food reflected that. The food here is A-MAZING! It was recommended by my medical assistant for some of the best Jamaican food around, and she was not lying. I am not that much of an oxtail lover, but I had to try it. After each their oxtail, I see what the hype is about, and they give you generous helpings and the cabbage are not dry. The cake also had a great flavor with good red velvet and key lime layers, and key lime cake is my absolute favorite cake. testing testing, 1,2,3... is this mic on? I have to say that the food here is mediocre. I previously made some rice and peas on my own and needed a protein to set it off... so I chose this place. The layout of the restaurant is clean in order. Towards the back of the restaurant is the cashier and the small window that leads to the cooks kitchen. This was my first time. While I am an avid experimental chef in my own rite, sadly, the food at this location barely crosses the finish line. I ordered the brown stew chicken and learned that the chicken that is cooked served here have two butts. You know, where the end of the chicken that is shaped like a thick feather (ass) - I struggle with restaurants that go this route when the food is advertised at authentic... On the other hand if you are in Kingston Jamaica and you order from a spot where the line is around the corner I can see getting the butt cause the flavor is crazy good. This spot... had a lot of butt-less chickens walking around pissed off! - But on the other hand, they were very kind and serviced oriented. To me it just lacked flavor and creation. While I was waiting for the food, I spoke to a few regulars that said the food was good. I went on recommendations but quickly learned once I got home, the real story surfaced like a floating bottle of water. The one thing I enjoyed the most were the plantains. On another note, I called the restaurant to ask if I could have just the brown stew chicken with no rice and peas and was quickly told that they don't offer that option. Which I replied "Ok, I guess I have to get the rice and peas"... when I got there which was like in 6 minutes, they didn't have any rice or peas, but they offered white rice as an option. The photos that I posted show the food I ordered and the bowl with the rice and peas was what I made in my kitchen. The brown stew tasted a tiny bit smoky, the skin was left on the chicken which made it less appealing to place chicken skin on the side of your plate... I use to visit here frequently before they closed. I came to visit under the new management. The food was really good. I ordered the jerk chicken, and beef pattie. Everything was delicious! Only negative feedback was they had two individual working in the restaurant doing some remodeling and they did not have on mask. The restaurant is very small, they should make sure everyone in the restaurant, regardless of being a customer or worker remodeling the building,they need to have on a mask. Visited here about a week ago but forgot to do the review. Yeah Man gets. A Yeah Man from me! This is a small little spot that if you blink you may rush past but if you do you might just miss out! The service was nice and the people had personality! Usually when going to Jamaica restaurant I immediately go to ordering oxtail.. they are my favorite! This time I ordered goat. The meal was a nice size portion and the food was hot and fresh! Also ordered beef patty. The goat was so flavorful- everything was! And tender so tender that chewing was an option more so than a requirement. The cabbage was not over cooked but cooked to perfection and the rice and peas whew Chile...yeah man! Everything down to the beef patty was just delectable. The crust on the beef patty tasted buttery and was so flaky while the meat filling had just enough spice not overwhelming at all and it was juicy not dry! Sooo nice The prices were respectable... just what you would expect even with possibly a slight increase due to the times we are finding ourselves living in with inflation. I will definitely have to stop here again ...next time it's oxtail I know they will be BOMB Based on this dish I'm so bad at getting photos but I'm going to try and be better read more

Denise was a pleasure, felt like I had my mother taking my order, upon walking in I knew I was going to love it, the chicken was cooked PERFECTLY, the oxtail was so tender and juicy, I don't have enough words to express how delicious this meal was. Plantains we're on point as well as the cabbage/ rice & beans. I had the Jerk Chicken regular size and should've asked for the large to take some home because there was nothing left, definitely worth your money, ask for the oxtail sauce as well it's insane!! I got there around 2:30-3 and simply wanted a small curry plate/bowl..that's roughly around $13. I was told that since the option is not available on the kiosk that they won't sale me a plate. Even though it was lunch time at that present time.. It was like they were trying to force me to buy a large curry plate for $25 which is absurd! less than 6 months ago that same exact plate was $14-15. Increase the same meal by $10 because you decided to renovate? It's all about the money with this business now and the customer service has went down completely! Declining services was all I needed to never show my face again. If you truly believe that curry plate in a plastic container that can't even hold the juice in it without spilling it.. is worth $25. I'm an ox tail connoisseur, so I decided to try a bee place close to my home. I ordered a meal to go and it was nicely packaged in separate containers. That's where my delight ended. I didn't find the ox tails very flavorful. I had to add spicy salt and pepper to give it flavor and it helped. The cabbage was good and the rice and peas were ok. I think the serving was decent and I received more meat than bones. I may try again because maybe this was an off day. read more

As I started driving towards the restaurant for my pickup, the hostess who had taken my order called back to say a Grubhub order came through with the same name, same order ... What??!
