The food was so good. The chicken fell of the bone! BROWN STEW CHICKEN Tender bone-in chicken marinated and stewed in a rich brown gravy. Entrees are garnished with fried plantains. I am pissed and disappointed!!! Stop advertising that your Jerk is grilled!! It is not! What I got tasted like boiled or baked chicken with brown stew gravy (which I requested) I order grilled JERK chicken and expected toe authentic taste of GRILLED JERK!! Additionally, the small order came with a HALF CHICKEN leg and HALF of what looks like a thigh?? $19.00 for a small LEG and a piece of a thigh! I would not have minded paying IF it was authentic jerk!! On top of that the food had BLAND FLAVOR!! No JERK flavor AT ALL!!!!!! ... just bland flavor and bland chicken smothered in bland gravy! When they first opened they had a lady who's cook FLAVORFUL food! She needs to come back! I will NOT be back! read more

This restaurant is trash! The food is decent but they want to do everything BUT work I placed a pick up order.. I was told to Uber Eats or DoorDash. I said I'd rather just place my order with you while I'm on the phone. He said okay took my order and asked when I would be there. I said 10 mins I get there and to no surprise I wait 10 mins before anyone even comes out from the back he then proceeds to tell me to order my food on the kiosk. This is not the first time I've experienced horrible customer service from them. EVERY SINGLE TIME i come it's some sort of ordeal and I try time and time again because the food is decent and I like to support local black owned business but no man, enough is enough. And they wonder why smh. read more

I love Jamaican food I'm from Philadelphia and I've been having a challenge trying to find tender, flavorful oxtails, and the steamed cabbage with flavor as well. Well, this place is it they hooked up my large oxtail plate. The oxtails was very tender flavorful and I love the cabbage. I missed the mac & cheese because the ran out, but if it's anything like the platter, I'm going back early to get my mac & cheese. read more

Came by for a quick lunch and was greeted by Denise she was the business owner, I asked for something affordable and quick and she recommended a jerk chicken bowl, it was perfect portion for the price and the hot sauce they make is insanely delicious. The building is super aesthetic giving Jamaican vibes. She said they were working on expanding and adding a bar on the other side of the building this is a place to try out and keep your eye on as they grow! I will definitely be back to try other options! read more

My first time at Yea Man. Denise you are a fantastic host. I felt like I was at my kitchen table talking with a friend. The sorrel.oit of this world delicious. Its very potent but delicious. I will definitely have it again. I ordered the Oxtails. Im very hard on anyone who makes these. She did not disappoint. They were excellent. I just had this last night and it was so nasty.. Mac and cheese was dry and the flavor tasted like it was set out for hours. Cheese was tough. It was just nasty. Curry chicken was flavorless. I paid for extra gravy yet there was barely any gravy at all. Rice and peas were dry and flavorless. I will not go back here. For it to cost as much as it did, they could've done better. read more

It's a struggle for me as I want to be fair and I am not a critic by any means. Why did I get chicken back pieces when I ordered "chicken". The curried chicken was absent of curry. The service is whatever, I have been to many Jamaican restaurants across many states...you don't for the service. I really want to give these guys a good rating. It's to go order thank goodness. Been coming here for years. Today my total was 22 dollars. I had 2 twenty's and they didn't have change. I did have an extra dollar and had 21 dollars but they didn't not accept it. Amazing food and friendly people! I love everything I've had there. The oxtails and jerk chicken are my favorites

This restaurant opened under new ownership late last summer. It was a pandemic lifesaver. My husband love Jamaican food so I was happy to find this spot. The food is good, consistant and not salty. Their rice and peas is really good. I'm a fan of the escovitch fish ( so good - call ahead for that one), oxtails, stewed chicken and curry goat. Oh and the beef patty and cocoa bread is also on point. The cocoa bread never taste stale like other places. If you're in the area, call and place a to go order. read more

Firstly I think the flavor and authenticity of the jerk chicken is great! I'm not Caribbean but I grew up in Jamaica, Queens and all my neighbors were from the islands, so I know good food! The size and portions tho, severely lacking...if I order a $20 large jerk chicken, I expect to see half a bird on my plate, like at Eats(Ponce deLeon) or Pollo Primo(Moreland Ave) Don't give me 2.5 pieces of chicken and call it a large portion. If I feel the value isn't compensatory with the price, I'll keep searching. I support small businesses but I feel "jerked ". I'll just drive to the Trini roti place in Marietta. read more

Tried this place out today. My husband and I got the fish. Good service and good people. We will definitely be back.

So this is my second time, i had to go back again! First time i ordered ox tails, rice & peas with Mac & cheese, second time my nail girl suggested i order the jerk chicken so i did with rice, Mac & cabbage. Plantains need to be ready next time i go there though!! As they weren't :) Both times it was very good! Service was great, the lady who makes the Mac !! Super cool & on point! I only wish that it had tables & chairs to dine in! Otherwise it's a cool little place! I love the food! Shout out to the current chef! :) read more

I'm so disappointed in this place because I thought I had found my new Jamaican spot, however in the last couple of months things have changed. For starters, their prices have gone up, which would be fine if the amount of food they give hadn't gone down. Their lunch special jerk chicken cost me $3.50 more and I was only given 2 small pieces of chicken (which were dry) & my plate wasn't even full. I would rather go somewhere else and pay more, but at least get a good amount of food. Not to mention, I was charged an extra $2 to put oxtail gravy ON my rice. Not even for a side. The gravy on top of my rice was a $2 upcharge, which I was not told on the phone. That's absolutely crazy to me since a side of gravy was just $0.50 a few months ago. The rice & cabbage was still really good, but I doubt I'll be back now that they are charging customers more for less. (Photo of my jerk chicken plate from yesterday is below. The photo of the curry goat is how much they USED to give for the lunch portion) read more

Let's talk about the food first ... I was going to order 2 orders of oxtails until I found out it was gonna cost 60-70 dollars & I know oxtails are expensive but I also know where to find some of best oxtails for a good price "mojitos" dt norcross for example... anyway instead I order jerk chicken and even that was 20 dollars for a very small portion (rice was dry, chicken was bland & dry, and the cabbage went untouched & the plantains , I've had better) I also got a beef patty which was exceptionable. My dad said the best thing was the ginger ale. However , the service was excellent the place was clean and the vibes & ambiance was very good. read more

This place is a gem! As someone who recently moved to the area, I've been on the hunt for a Jamaican spot that feels like home, and this one hits the mark. I tried the jerk chicken platter with rice and peas, cabbage, a beef patty, and mac and cheese--everything was flavorful and authentic. The service is typical of most Caribbean restaurants (iykyk), but the food is worth it. The restaurant is clean and would be a cozy spot to dine in if I hadn't ordered to go. I'll definitely be back when I'm craving oxtail but don't feel like cooking it myself. read more

That was not Jamaican jerk chicken!! it was terrible an under cook. I told the guy in the counter that I wanted the breast and rice and beans. He gave me the opposite, all dark meat under cook and white gluey rise. I disposed of the whole thing in the garbage. what a waste of money i will never come back to that place again. I have been visiting Jamaica for over 20 years and what this place sells is no Jamaican food at all! read more

I am so happy for this business and the family running it; the food truly comes from a place of love. I have visited for a couple weekends and my order consists of the same thing every single time, ackee plate, no salt fish. I have lived in Atlanta for a little over 10 years now and when I say this spot is the only spot I can order a plate of ackee with green banana, yellow yam, boiled AND fried dumpling minus the salt fish (vegan), I truly mean it. On Saturday mornings, I'm able to call in my order as it is made to order specifically for the vegan version. The restaurant is new and they are currently seeking extra hands to make things run quickly and smooth, but not once has the food reflected that. The food is consistent and cooked with experience and love. You all have a lifetime customer! read more

Delicious jerk chicken. I love the cabbage too. it contains slivers of buttery carrots to keep it crunchy. The sauce was too hot for me because I am a wimp. I am glad that it was in a separate cup. I will be a regular customer. I will be working Mt way through the menu. read more

Best seafood patties hands down. I also love the spinach patties as well. I love to come to grab a quick snack to nibble on anytime I'm in the Austell area. I will never eat here again. I decided to try this Jamaica spot. I got the oxtails even though they were really over priced. The food here is A-MAZING! It was recommended by my medical assistant for some of the best Jamaican food around, and she was not lying. I am not that much of an oxtail lover, but I had to try it. After each their oxtail, I see what the hype is about, and they give you generous helpings and the cabbage are not dry. The cake also had a great flavor with good red velvet and key lime layers, and key lime cake is my absolute favorite cake. This are the cat's meow and one of the absolute best places I've every purchased authentic Jamaican food from. Bravo! read more

testing testing, 1,2,3... is this mic on? I have to say that the food here is mediocre. I previously made some rice and peas on my own and needed a protein to set it off... so I chose this place. The layout of the restaurant is clean in order. Towards the back of the restaurant is the cashier and the small window that leads to the cooks kitchen. This was my first time. While I am an avid experimental chef in my own rite, sadly, the food at this location barely crosses the finish line. I ordered the brown stew chicken and learned that the chicken that is cooked served here have two butts. You know, where the end of the chicken that is shaped like a thick feather (ass) - I struggle with restaurants that go this route when the food is advertised at authentic... On the other hand if you are in Kingston Jamaica and you order from a spot where the line is around the corner I can see getting the butt cause the flavor is crazy good. This spot... had a lot of butt-less chickens walking around pissed off! - But on the other hand, they were very kind and serviced oriented. To me it just lacked flavor and creation. While I was waiting for the food, I spoke to a few regulars that said the food was good. I went on recommendations but quickly learned once I got home, the real story surfaced like a floating bottle of water. The one thing I enjoyed the most were the plantains. On another note, I called the restaurant to ask if I could have just the brown stew chicken with no rice and peas and was quickly told that they don't offer that option. Which I replied "Ok, I guess I have to get the rice and peas"... when I got there which was like in 6 minutes, they didn't have any rice or peas, but they offered white rice as an option. The photos that I posted show the food I ordered and the bowl with the rice and peas was what I made in my kitchen. The brown stew tasted a tiny bit smoky, the skin was left on the chicken which made it less appealing to place chicken skin on the side of your plate... Not aesthetically pleasing - two stars in my opinion compared to the 4 and 5 stars that other have posted. Photos to follow read more

I use to visit here frequently before they closed. I came to visit under the new management. The food was really good. I ordered the jerk chicken, and beef pattie. Everything was delicious! Only negative feedback was they had two individual working in the restaurant doing some remodeling and they did not have on mask. The restaurant is very small, they should make sure everyone in the restaurant, regardless of being a customer or worker remodeling the building, they need to have on a mask. Otherwise good food. read more

Visited here about a week ago but forgot to do the review. Yeah Man gets. A Yeah Man from me! This is a small little spot that if you blink you may rush past but if you do you might just miss out! The service was nice and the people had personality! Usually when going to Jamaica restaurant I immediately go to ordering oxtail.. they are my favorite! This time I ordered goat. The meal was a nice size portion and the food was hot and fresh! Also ordered beef patty. The goat was so flavorful- everything was! And tender so tender that chewing was an option more so than a requirement. The cabbage was not over cooked but cooked to perfection and the rice and peas whew Chile...yeah man! Everything down to the beef patty was just delectable. The crust on the beef patty tasted buttery and was so flaky while the meat filling had just enough spice not overwhelming at all and it was juicy not dry! Sooo nice The prices were respectable... just what you would expect even with possibly a slight increase due to the times we are finding ourselves living in with inflation. I will definitely have to stop here again ...next time it's oxtail I know they will be BOMB Based on this dish I'm so bad at getting photos but I'm going to try and be better read more

Denise was a pleasure, felt like I had my mother taking my order, upon walking in I knew I was going to love it, the chicken was cooked PERFECTLY, the oxtail was so tender and juicy, I don't have enough words to express how delicious this meal was. Plantains we're on point as well as the cabbage/ rice & beans. I had the Jerk Chicken regular size and should've asked for the large to take some home because there was nothing left, definitely worth your money, ask for the oxtail sauce as well it's insane!!
