Curry chicken, rice and peas. No extra gravy

I just had this last night and it was so nasty.. Mac and cheese was dry and the flavor tasted like it was set out for hours. Cheese was tough. It was just nasty. Curry chicken was flavorless. I paid for extra gravy yet there was barely any gravy at all. Rice and peas were dry and flavorless. I will not go back here. For it to cost as much as it did, they could've done better.

I love YEAH MAN JAMAICAN RESTAURANT!!!! Hands down best Jamaican food in Georgia. I'm from Texas and it's better than Texas Jamaican food. I got a trio: Oxtail, Goat Curry, Jerk Chicken. Sides: rice and beans; cabbage. It was such a good experience! I would recommend to anyone anytime!

It's a struggle for me as I want to be fair and I am not a critic by any means. Why did I get chicken back pieces when I ordered "chicken". The curried chicken was absent of curry. The service is whatever, I have been to many Jamaican restaurants across many states...you don't for the service. I really want to give these guys a good rating. It's to go order thank goodness. Places needs to air out have some natural air flow through. I wish I could give this place a better review. Another mid Jamaican spot.

This restaurant opened under new ownership late last summer. It was a pandemic lifesaver. My husband love Jamaican food so I was happy to find this spot. The food is good, consistant and not salty. Their rice and peas is really good. I'm a fan of the escovitch fish ( so good - call ahead for that one), oxtails, stewed chicken and curry goat. Oh and the beef patty and cocoa bread is also on point. The cocoa bread never taste stale like other places. If you're in the area, call and place a to go order.

Let's talk about the food first ... I was going to order 2 orders of oxtails until I found out it was gonna cost 60-70 dollars & I know oxtails are expensive but I also know where to find some of best oxtails for a good price "mojitos" dt norcross for example... anyway instead I order jerk chicken and even that was 20 dollars for a very small portion (rice was dry, chicken was bland & dry, and the cabbage went untouched & the plantains , I've had better) I also got a beef patty which was exceptionable. My dad said the best thing was the ginger ale. However , the service was excellent the place was clean and the vibes & ambiance was very good.

Red peas Red Pea Soup Most of my soup was red peas. No soup at all.

Pick up order was ready. We order chicken soup's , it had the dumplings, potatoes barely other ingredients no so much and it lacked the soup portion and too much red peas that's not fully cooked.

I'm so disappointed in this place because I thought I had found my new Jamaican spot, however in the last couple of months things have changed. For starters, their prices have gone up, which would be fine if the amount of food they give hadn't gone down. Their lunch special jerk chicken cost me $3.50 more and I was only given 2 small pieces of chicken (which were dry) & my plate wasn't even full. I would rather go somewhere else and pay more, but at least get a good amount of food. Not to mention, I was charged an extra $2 to put oxtail gravy ON my rice. Not even for a side. The gravy on top of my rice was a $2 upcharge, which I was not told on the phone. That's absolutely crazy to me since a side of gravy was just $0.50 a few months ago. The rice & cabbage was still really good, but I doubt I'll be back now that they are charging customers more for less. (Photo of my jerk chicken plate from yesterday is below. The photo of the curry goat is how much they USED to give for the lunch portion)

I had been wanting to try their food so figured give it a try. I placed an order for Haitian patties, Oxtail, and a side salad. When I arrived, I reviewed the receipt and noticed the price of the oxtail increased from $38 to $42. The price on the website is not currently reflecting the prices being charged. I use the unkind app but it was not working so could not use it to pay. The hostess said it was an ongoing issue. Let's discuss the food. My coworker enjoyed her Haitian patties. She said the island slaw was really good. The side salad is the house salad. I asked for balsamic dressing when given the option. There was none on that salad. Sigh. The oxtail were good. They were very well seasoned and had a good flavor. The rice and beans were good but not enough. The rice could have been cooked a tad bit longer. It wasn't fine bur like 1 minute when have been perfect. I did not dine in but it looked nice inside. There was a decent amount of people there. It was clean and nicely decorated. I would eat here again but I didn't like the price difference in the oxtails or lack of salad dressing. I think dining there those issues could have been addressed but I was back at work.

I immediately felt her energy and loved how she suggested drinks based on my likes. Dominique was the hookah girl. She was sweet. If you like hookah, you order and you pay her directly via the business's cashapp. I met one of the owners whose name was mark and he was very nice. Checked on us as well as the cook (named smoke I believe. Lol) and asked if our food was good. He received our feedback and made a note. Much appreciated The place has an open floor plan with tables, a few booths and a Pool table with T v's all around. Drinks: I love that they have $5 all day happy hour drinks. So you have something to choose from. I had a custom drink and tried the sneaky from the $5 happy. My custom drink was deeelicious!!! The sneaky wasn't too my liking. I stayed with my custom drink. Sorry I didn't take a pic. Food: I ordered the sliders and fried green tomatoes. I was excited to try them because up north these aren't served. They weren't good. I would have loved for them to have been fried harder with a little more batter. The sliders were just ok. Once Robin brought us out I believe it was called fire sauce, it made the sliders taste better. My friend got a salad with shrimp. It was ok. It's just a salad. Overall I enjoyed my experience here thanks to the welcoming spirit of Robin. I will be back whenever I am in town. Go check around if you're in the area. I hope you enjoy!
