Egusi with FuFu. It was super good except for the tiny bones. It had a lot of spice as well.
    Yolanda S.

I ordered the Egusi Soup with fufu and after seeing another patrons plate from a distance I inquired as to what he had ordered and the host said Catfish with beans and plantains and I ordered that as well. I had both dishes to go. The Egusi with fufu was hot, freshly prepared and delicious. It had ample chunks of beef as well and some smoked or dried fish it appeared. I also had one surprise piece of fish that had dozens of super sharp tiny bones in it. I had to take my time spitting them out and the experience was not pleasant. I don't think the restaurant owner should serve fish with those fine little needle like bones. It could open him up to liability because what if a bone lodges into someone's throat? Many years ago my aunt had that happen to her and she ended up in the emergency room. The bone had turner sideways in her throat and could not be dislodged. However again the Egusi was very flavorful and it definitely had a strong kick to it with the spice. It was very spicy. The only bad things were the initial smell when I removed the top (it smelled like dried meat and sometimes those are not pleasant smells) and the tiny fish bones. The second dish I ordered I really couldn't eat. I was horrified to see what the dish looked like up close. It was just a hot stew mess with a bunch of strange textures and tastes all combined into this strange mush of a dish. The catfish was pretty good. It was stewed. But rhe rest was not edible. The restaurant was ok. It was nothing extravagant but it was nice for a date. It was dark on the inside. The man running the register was nice. The cooks appeared to be friendly. I will return.

If your looking for delicious fufu just come here , I love this place that it became a problem. I shouldn't spend my money here but it's great food . 1.50 for a single egg is ridiculous but I still tried it with egusi with tripe snd goat

I absolutely love the vibe and food at this place. We came in and the food came out quickly. The food had a lot of flavor. Folarin was great at taking care of us! Very informative and respectful! I'll definitely be back!

The dry rice and fish it's self was not flavorful at all! The fish was extremely dry and tasted old. The sauce on top helped add some flavor , the spicy pepper sauce was extremely good wish I had more of that. I also ordered okra sauce as well, that had smoked turkey ,chicken and fish. The smoked turkey meat they used was VERY overwhelming and I could not eat any of it. I was super disappointed because okra sauce is my favorite thing to eat when eating African food. The lady that took my order was really nice, and inside of the restaurant seemed like a cool spot to have drinks and eat inside.

The spice they give with the wings is SPICY (I should have asked for more)!!! The fried plantains are sweet plantains and it taste like they add sugar to it (I didn't like that very much). I LOVED the cassava leaves (I wished I had some of that spicy sauce to add to it). I didn't like the rice, but that's more of my personal preferences (it was just plain white rice, but it was the big thick rice. I like Jasmine Rice or madam gougousse). I would be open to trying something new on the menu or returning back here !

The pounded yam was smooth and not too thick. I had fun scooping up the Egusi in the Fufu with my hands. Both together was an enjoyable flavor and texture combo. The Beef Suya was good as well, a nice meat appetizer. The beef was cooked well done which some people may not like, but I enjoyed it since I grew up eating my steak that way. It paired very well with the spice blend and raw onions. I also had the Ghanaian Jollof Rice and that was not my most favorite dish due to the flavor. Not my cup of tea, but the rice was cooked well. I also liked the side plantains. The interior is nicely ornate and comfy. The service here was also super great and my assigned server was very personable. I genuinely enjoyed my conversation with her and she did well giving me recommendations and directions as a first timer for this type of food. Overall, I had a great experience here and would come back again!

Ike's…read morewas in the area the three of us were hanging out at, so I was looking forward to venture outside my normal restaurant. Setting / Service: We had came in about 10-15 minutes after they had just opened, so it felt like we were the first customers by the way the wait staff was missing. The host had told us sit at any table and we would have a staff member come swing by. We waited about 5-10 minutes before our waitress had came by and asked us if we were ready to order. Mind you - we were not given a food menu or told about the QR code that looked like it was barely hanging on the table beforehand. Food order took a little longer than expected. Table that was sat after us got their full lunch order before our soup came out. Felt little weird about that. The occasional check-ins from the waitress was welcomed. Food: Hunter's Platter was a overcooked or charred. The beef was well done at minimum. Some of the other meat pieces that contained bone were so overcooked that it was tougher than jerky and the bones themselves began to break off into sharp ends / mistaken as meat due to how brittle they became. For it to be priced at 'Market Value' and not have a actual charge was a bit odd to me. It came out to be near $60 for those wondering. Sweet potato soup with plantain fufu was good. We had ordered the mixed meat version, but it only contain one piece of each meat. It was borderline room temp by the time it got to our table. We had also ordered a few other items that were pretty enjoyable. Pleasant additions to a couple first timers who wanted to taste the menu. Overall: I'd say that the experience here was pretty okay to the point we had gotten the meal tab. It was a bit peculiar that our waitress had dropped off the credit card machine to the table for us after handing her my card. It was then I noticed on the machine "Additional Tip". Puzzled, I looked back at the check and noticed she had applied auto-gratuity. Yes, I would have given a tip. I would have given more than the auto applied tip, but it was context that made the entire situation foul. She applied auto tip, dropped the machine off, and just 'disappeared' until we left the table at which she muttered words as she walked past us while looking down to the floor.

I went in and he had already gotten us a table. Our server came over pretty quickly and took our drink orders. I wanted to taste some authentic African beer. My friend suggested an Orijin or a Trophy Premium Lager beer. I ordered the Trophy Lager and my friend ordered the Orijin. I later found out his drink was not an actual beer, but some kind of mixture of alcohol flavored with African herbs and fruits. We took a small taste of each other's drinks. Mine tasted like a standard lager, really. We reviewed the menu and I described what I had a taste for. My friend suggested that I get the Jollof Rice with Chicken, and that's what I ordered. He ordered the Pounded Yam with Egusi soup. My food came out quickly. My friend's order took longer than expected, but he told me to go ahead and start eating, so I did not wait. The food was very good, well seasoned, and had a nice spice kick. My friend's dish came out about 15 minutes later. It must have been a specialty item since it took so long. Once it arrived, he enjoyed it, even though I think he had ordered it before. The restaurant was a little empty, with just a few other patrons inside. While we enjoyed lunch, we listened to some good, authentic Afrobeats music in the background. I even Shazamed a couple of songs while we were sitting there. They also had an area set up with an Instagramable photo wall and a DJ booth. The restaurant itself was very clean and they also had a full bar. I will definitely come back to try some other authentic menu options.
