We needed to find a short-notice auto service to do a pre-purchase inspection on a private party car purchase. Gene got us in same day, and at a great price, $50. Khoi went over the Subaru with a fine tooth comb, then went line-item by line-item through the results of inspection with us to insure we understood every item that was "less than perfect" on the car. Most things were not critical, but was good to know which fix-its were potential safety issues. Old owner of the car was happy with the inspection also - helped us agree on a fair price in short order. Mechanic is very knowledgeable. I bought a used Acura TL come to find out it had a bad transmission. The transmission job was done very well and in one day. he also found cracked engine mounts while he was doing the job which was making car shake as i was excelerating. This place is great. I will never take my car anywhere else. Had my A/C fixed a few months back I got a quote over the phone and the front desk guy talked to me about all the costs and what needed to be done. I already knew before calling what exactly needed to be done and how much parts would run so it was great hearing the guy go into such detail and I knew right then I was going to the right place (people who care about their work) When I took my car in the mechanic even talked to me in detail. This is the 1st place ever that I felt like I can trust a mechanic. Khoi is great! I've had my car taken here and my bf takes his here as well. Each time that there is ever a replacement in parts, Khoi will bring out the actual old parts and explain exactly what was the problem and why it needs replacement. Over the past 10 years or so with my car and of all the auto repair places I've been to they have never took the time to really explain what went wrong with my car. I used yelp to find an auto repair shop for my Honda Civic 2002. After reading reviews, I selected Factoryspecific. I called the shop to set up an appointment to have a cracked exhaust manifold repaired that was preventing my car from passing smog. After carefully listening to the problem and explaining that the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter were all one part. They referred me to call Rick at The Muffler Store, a shop next door explaining that he might be able to fix or replace the cracked manifold cheaper than they could. I called Rick and took my car in and he was able to weld the exhaust manifold for $50!!! Factoryspecific will be my shop for all my cars - they are honest and extremely knowledgeable and not afraid to refer you!!! read more

So turns out there are larger problems with our Honda after the AC was fixed. .. Now it won't start and we have taken it back 2 additional times (once via tow) with no help. I trust Khoi and his crew with my cars. They do great work and they are honest mechanics. I am also a fan of using OEM parts, but sometimes they aren't available and they know which ones are higher quality and designed like the OEM's! No one ever wants to pay to fix their cars, but Factory Specific is reasonable. I burned out my tranny on our Suburban pulling our toyhauler and they got me a new one with a great warranty. When I called them up for a warranty issue they handled it quickly! They also helped me find and correct a dangerous situation on my Diesel truck which had a wheel hub assembly in danger of failing and they fixed that too. Very honest. I took my car in for a brake check because I felt a little vibration at highway speeds and they told me that my brake pads were not worn but my rotors were slightly warped. We take all our vehicles here. They're polite, professional, reasonably priced, and they don't even speak of work you don't need. Everything you want in a mechanic. The short: The reason these gentlemen get the best rating ever and will forever have my business? Because just this last month, they saved us over $4,000. Yes, FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS. How? Because they were honest and they went above and beyond any other mechanic. The specifics: The transmission on our 2010 Nissan Altima went out. Five year old vehicle and our transmission died. Big headache in and of itself. The gentlemen quoted us out at give or take $3,300 for everything said and done with genuine Nissan parts. But here's the kicker. When they went to order the transmission, they found out that there was an extended warranty specifically for the transmission and the parts and labor would be covered. All we had to do is take it to a Nissan dealership to get it diagnosed (that the transmission was indeed dead) and Nissan would take care of the rest. So Factory Specific told us. We cried tears of joy and immediately took it into Fairfield Nissan. Unfortunately, Fairfield Nissan does NOT employ honest or trustworthy individuals and attempted to charge us for the diagnostic ($100+) and a fix that they said was separate from the transmission and it would cost us ($350+). I immediately called the gentlemen at Factory Specific, explained the situation, and within the hour they had arranged to take our vehicle (like actually drive it personally for us) into another Nissan dealership that they knew and trusted and have it fixed UNDER WARRANTY. Of course, after they had done this, Fairfield Nissan attempted to call and cover their "mistake" but I didn't need to care because Factory Specific had us covered. In the end, we cannot say enough about how amazing this company is to their customers. They are constantly going above and beyond, and I cannot recommend these gentlemen enough. read more
