We needed to find a short-notice auto service to do a pre-purchase inspection on a private party car purchase. Gene got us in same day, and at a great price, $50. Khoi went over the Subaru with a fine tooth comb, then went line-item by line-item through the results of inspection with us to insure we understood every item that was "less than perfect" on the car. Most things were not critical, but was good to know which fix-its were potential safety issues. Old owner of the car was happy with the inspection also - helped us agree on a fair price in short order. Not being from the area - was great to find such professional and courteous service from Factoryspecific. Mechanic is very knowledgeable. I bought a used Acura TL come to find out it had a bad transmission. The transmission job was done very well and in one day. he also found cracked engine mounts while he was doing the job which was making car shake as i was excelerating. I live 2,000 miles away from California and I am in the area visiting family and my van started to make some weird noises. I am typically untrusting of auto repair shops so I was hesitant to call any shop. Factory Specific was not able to get me in on short notice but the gentleman I spoke to spent time on the phone listening and talking to me about the sound my van was making and what he thought it may be and my possible options. This place is great. I will never take my car anywhere else. Had my A/C fixed a few months back I got a quote over the phone and the front desk guy talked to me about all the costs and what needed to be done. I already knew before calling what exactly needed to be done and how much parts would run so it was great hearing the guy go into such detail and I knew right then I was going to the right place (people who care about their work) When I took my car in the mechanic even talked to me in detail. This is the 1st place ever that I felt like I can trust a mechanic. Khoi is great! I've had my car taken here and my bf takes his here as well. Each time that there is ever a replacement in parts, Khoi will bring out the actual old parts and explain exactly what was the problem and why it needs replacement. Over the past 10 years or so with my car and of all the auto repair places I've been to they have never took the time to really explain what went wrong with my car. It was always like okay here is the problem, here's the price, and that's it. I would leave the place feeling like, "what the heck just happened? Feeling ripped off and cheated all at the same time." So turns out there are larger problems with our Honda after the AC was fixed. .. Now it won't start and we have taken it back 2 additional times (once via tow) with no help. I used yelp to find an auto repair shop for my Honda Civic 2002. After reading reviews, I selected Factoryspecific. I called the shop to set up an appointment to have a cracked exhaust manifold repaired that was preventing my car from passing smog. After carefully listening to the problem and explaining that the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter were all one part. They referred me to call Rick at The Muffler Store, a shop next door explaining that he might be able to fix or replace the cracked manifold cheaper than they could. I called Rick and took my car in and he was able to weld the exhaust manifold for $50!!! Factoryspecific will be my shop for all my cars - they are honest and extremely knowledgeable and not afraid to refer you!!! read more

I trust Khoi and his crew with my cars. They do great work and they are honest mechanics. I am also a fan of using OEM parts, but sometimes they aren't available and they know which ones are higher quality and designed like the OEM's! No one ever wants to pay to fix their cars, but Factory Specific is reasonable. I burned out my tranny on our Suburban pulling our toyhauler and they got me a new one with a great warranty. When I called them up for a warranty issue they handled it quickly! They also helped me find and correct a dangerous situation on my Diesel truck which had a wheel hub assembly in danger of failing and they fixed that too. I trust them with taking care of my vehicles. You should consider them too! read more

They were professional, they didn't try to sell me anything, they told me what they found & let me make the decisions, they accurately & quickly were able to diagnose my car's issues, and called me multiple times to discuss the service as it was progressing. Very honest. I took my car in for a brake check because I felt a little vibration at highway speeds and they told me that my brake pads were not worn but my rotors were slightly warped. If I could tolerate the vibration for another 5-10k miles then they could replace both at once rather than doing it twice. Saved me $. read more

Khoi at Honda Specific is great, he is honest and straight up with what you need done. I recently went in for brakes,that I was told needed to be done by another shop, and Khoi informed me my brakes were good and didn't need to be replaced yet.
