After reading reviews dating back several months, I realized that other people had experienced the same issue. Let me start at the beginning. I made my reservation for a Sunday at noon. When we arrived, we were told that our reservation had been canceled. Naturally, I was confused because I hadn't canceled it. We were asked to take a seat while the staff looked into the matter, and they quickly figured it out. Brittany at the front desk did a wonderful job explaining what had happened. In the end, it turned out to be an error on my end, but she remained friendly, professional, and accommodating. She offered us another date and time and even compensated us for parking. Thank you, Brittany! The bath experience was everything I needed to cleanse my soul. The waterfall area and the eucalyptus sauna quickly became our favorite places. The atmosphere was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we had hoped for. Now, on to the massage. My wife and I were in the same room. She had a female therapist, and I had a male therapist. Unfortunately, our experiences were completely different. My therapist spent most of the session lightly rubbing my feet and legs. He never touched my hands, fingers, neck, or head, all of which my wife received during her massage. He did ask whether there were any areas I wanted him to focus on, and I mentioned that I had tension in my upper shoulder area and that I had a shoulder injury. He concentrated primarily on the injured shoulder and very little else. I was genuinely surprised when he told me the session was over. My first thought was, "Wait, where was the rest of the massage?" I would really like to see Aire invest in more experienced massage therapists, especially since this appears to be a recurring concern among guests. That said, the massage experience did not ruin our visit. I would absolutely return, and I would still recommend Aire to my family, friends, and coworkers.

Showed up and it was closed due to construction issues with the city. I received no email or phone call that it would be closed. Very embarrassing. I've called over 6x asking asking for a refund $720. Each time I've called it the same response "sorry someone from our management team will call you back". Nobody ever calls me back. I disputed the issue with my credit card company and AIRE responded to them saying that the service was complete forcing me to open another investigation with the city and having to look in legal counsel to take them to court. I am beyond frustrated. Never thought this is how they would do business. Apart of me feels that they lost so much business during the time they were "under construction" that they can't afford to keep the lights on let alone issue a refund. I would stay away.

A woman escorted me into this insanely small room (it looks like a closet) where there were 2 pedicure chairs right next to each other then 2 manicure stations across from that. I truly was shocked. I wanted to leave. Their website and spa detail information is so insanely misleading. This small room they cram you into has no windows, and is at the end of a dark hall. Forget that we are still dealing with the pandemic and there is zero social distancing. The two nail techs that were working were lovely but so obviously under appreciated & overworked. Which is beyond sad. My pedicure was ok but my manicure was the worst I've ever received. I wanted a French tip and the tech haphazardly painted each tip with a regular brush. Not one was the same. I also walked out and came right back to get some nail polish remover to clean up my own hands as I had white polish all over my skin. Just insane. The receptionist was appalled when I showed her my nails so she said she would take it off my bill ($65) was removed but I still paid over $150 plus tip for my mani and pedi. In my personal option, they should close down the manicure and pedicure options of the spa. It is not a luxury, high end experience. Quite the opposite. This was not a great way to end our stay here & it put such a bad taste in my mouth. I won't ever come back to the spa for any service at all.

The waiting area was calm, elegant, and very comfortable, which immediately set a soothing mood. Ivy came to escort me for my pedicure and explained the entire process very clearly. She helped me settle comfortably into the chair and made sure I felt relaxed throughout the service. Ivy is very sweet, polite, and professional. She paid great attention to detail and did her job beautifully. The staff also offered me coffee or water, which was a thoughtful touch and added to the overall comfort. I asked Ivy to help me choose a good nail color, and she guided me patiently until we found the perfect shade. I really appreciated her suggestions. You are greeted with a warm smile as they check you in and given gentle directions where you can change in their large facility into your robe and slippers. Then they guide you to where you can go to wait to meet your masseuse. It was a last minute booking and the last slot for an evening massage. It wasn't long at all before my smiling masseuse came to come and get me. Before I knew it I was laying face down getting the most relaxing massage I've had in a long time. This place serves at a high end level of excellence. My masseuse was very professional and just knew the perfect level of pressures to get all the knots, kinks, and stress print up on my back. This place lifts and floats you away from the business of the outside world and the whirls that swirl around inside your head. We received an email before our visit asking if we would be able to switch our 10:30 appointments to 8:00 am or 11:45 am to accommodate another guest interested in services. Since we were visiting from out of town and had other plans, we were not able to switch to these times but eventually agreed to move to 9:15 even though it was not our preferred time. The attendants upon arrival were very friendly and welcoming. The eucalyptus steam sauna was closed for repair, which was not indicated when we booked. The dry sauna and hot tub were very small. As the morning went on it got incredibly busy. There were so many people waiting for appointments that there weren't enough chairs in the relaxation room, and it was very crowded by the vanity/mirrors and showers. Our treatments we good, not spectacular for the cost, but we expected expensive treatments on a busy weekend in Chicago. We were offered complimentary enhancements for switching appointment times-a face mask or eye mask. A nice touch but not nearly worth switching our plans around for. We had separate reservations to begin with but somehow when we were asked to move our reservation times, we were put on the same reservation. As a result, I was charged for my friend's service. We each made multiple calls to the spa to try to get it corrected. After at least four attempts to get it corrected over the phone, I emailed the spa. It took 8 days from when we were at the spa for them to begin processing a refund to my card. We were very surprised by all of this, especially at such a luxury spa.

I understand that we were finishing up, but we were supposed to receive both bottles as part of the experience in the first place. The other thing is that the pool and sauna are on the 8th floor, while the spa services are on the 5th floor. It's not a huge deal, but it would be much more convenient if everything were on the same floor. That said, we still had a great time and the overall atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely recommend it for a girls' day, bachelorette party, or just a relaxing spa day.

After entering the Garland Building on Wabash Avenue, I strolled past the doorman and hopped the elevator to the thirteenth floor. At the end of a non-descript hallway filled with doctor's offices and suites I reached Facial Boutique. After being greeted warmly by Vlada , head esthetician, I was situated in the waiting room with a cold bottle of water. I enjoyed a granola bar from the selection sitting on the table, and perused a magazine while waiting for my scheduled appointment time. The office and waiting area are professional, yet stylish with plush plum carpeting, taupe colored walls and incense and essential oils wafting through the space. Soothing new age music plays softly and the hum of the el train is faint background noise, a gentle reminder that this oasis sets itself apart from its busy surroundings. After being escorted back to the treatment room and changing into a soft, terrycloth robe, I situated myself under the blankets and lay face up in the warm sunlight streaming through the windows. Vlada wrapped my hair in a soft towel, placed a bolster underneath my knees and worked efficiently to insure my comfort. She began with an eyebrow wax. We discussed the shape and fullness I desired, and she went to work shaping. A bright light was used to aid her in this task, and after a few quick strips of wax, plucking and trimming she placed cold compresses over the area following it up with an application of a quick cooling solution. She presented me with a mirror and I was pleased with the results and the minimal level of discomfort. Now, the main event: a One-Hour Yonka Le Grand Classique Facial for deep pore cleansing and restoration featuring the Yonka skin care line, and Vlada's expertise. Vlada analyzed my skin composition and formulated a suitable plan of action to remedy my skin's issues: sporadic breakouts and periodic bumps. Vlada also explained that this particular facial is based on Yonka's unique five progressive purifying steps, which treat the skin with a gradual, progressive protocol, thus minimizing irritation. To get started and relaxed, Vlada massaged my hands with lotion and placed them in warming mitts. From there, she got started on the first step of the Yonka facial: cleansing. She applied a gentle cleanser to wash away any makeup and other impurities from the surface of my skin. Next, she applied a warm mist made up of five essential oils to rinse away the cleanser (plus any stagnant oil on my face) and hydrate my skin in preparation for a soft peel. The plant-based, soft gel peel was spread evenly over my face and I felt its signature slight tingle as it took effect. Vlada left the peel on for ten minutes and followed it up with a gommage exfoliation. This micro- peeling exfoliation is applied sections across the face so each area gets the attention it needs, intensely working on problem areas. Vlada followed the exfoliation with a few quick extractions and proceeded on to a relaxing face and neck massage. My neck loose and face already feeling calm and rejuvenated, Vlada applied a purifying mask over my entire face and neck, topping it all off with an aromatic compress to seal in moisture and minerals. Finally, Vlada applied a protective moisturizing combination as the last step of the epic facial and, after several minutes of relaxation, I changed back into my clothes and met Vlada at the reception area. She suggested I stay out of the direct sun for the rest of the day and encouraged me to drink lots of water to release my skin of any leftover toxins. That same day I started having horrible eye stabbing pains, went to my eye doctor who said I had chemical burns on both eyes which have led to horrible, life ruining pain/conplications. After a pleasant pre-treatment of cleansing and steam, Leslie was precise in assuring that every milliliter of my face and neck had the benefit of the treatment. A complimentary red light treatment was added at the end. My skin looks great! I am in my 70s and the light is bouncing of my face for a healthy glow. Leslie shared that she uses pharmaceutical grade products. I like that she was not pushy and simply offered to make some recommendations based on my concerns. She also suggested I use the products that I have so they don't go to waste. I liked her down to earth approach. I bought a Groupon for a hydrafacial and texted Lesley to make an appointment for a couple weeks out. I was scheduled for a Monday at 11am. I arrived on time to the building and was having a bit of trouble finding the salon. I called and texted Lesley and got no response. Then 10-15 mins after my appointment was supposed to start, she texted me she had just gotten in a fender bender. I understand that life happens and that things come up, but the way the situation was handled was horrible. She completely wasted my time and I had to pay $15 for parking for a service I did not even get. The business owner is completely unprofessional and I can't imagine this place staying open much longer with the way she runs things. I'm confused as to why she was driving to the salon right before an appointment instead of getting there early to set up and I genuinely can not believe she waited until I got there and waited 15 minutes into my appointment time to tell me she could not do the service. All it takes is a text to let someone know that something changed. I did not reschedule with her because why would I waste my time again. Thank you Groupon for refunding me.
