You'll love AIRE if you want a relaxing place to soothe your mind, body, and senses. The location…read moreis near the West Loop, and has valet parking, but you could find street parking nearby. There are a variety of services to choose from, but the various baths of different temperatures and salt engage the senses like no other. It's co-ed, and you can move between baths at your leisure. There's even a semi-outdoor waterfall bath. The variety is wonderful. There's a salt shower area that you could rub salt on yourself which feels wonderful. I really enjoyed the sauna which had an aromatherapy component to it and a cold plunge inside. I didn't think I could do it, but the hot temps made it easier to get into the cold water. Service here is splendid, and reservations need to be made so that over-crowding doesn't happen. This makes the experience of coming here much more enjoyable. You can really unwind, relax, and come out of this feeling refreshed.

Not so bad... Pretty Chic. I like it…read more They take you back. Guys and girl separate. You each have your own locker rooms. They give you direction and off you go. There is staff around so if you have any questions, that can be answered. The locker rooms are clean. There are a couple private changing rooms and, of course, cuz it is separate from the men, you can choose to change in the open. You change into your bathing suit and they provide a robe. Within this locker room, there are showers available and there is also an area provided to get ready AFTER the services are complete. It has hair dryers and spray deodorant and I think lotions. They do provide "wet slippers". They fit like no show socks so there's no need for any kind of flip flop type shoe to protect your feet. I have no review for the men's locker room cuz... Well. I'm not a man. BUT my husband had no complaints. When ready, you meet your partner and go to the "bath" area. They have all kinds of hot tubs and steams rooms and cold plunges and just yeah. It's pretty cool. You hang your robe and in you go. There is also a juice bar and the juices are delicious. Again, there is plenty of staff to assist with any questions you may have. If you booked a massage, and, of course, why not? They will let you know when it's time. You go upstairs and get the best massage of your life. I had a female masseuse and my husband had a male one. Once done, back into the locker room to get ready for the rest of your day/evening. It was a pleasant experience. It was also quite pricey. This was gifted to me and my man. Not sure if we would have extra funds to splurge within our own budget. This is downtown Chicago. Parking is NOT provided. Although they do offer valet.

The Spa at the Peninsula was great to celebrate a special occasion or just for some self care. My treatment was great. The massage bed was heated and adjustable to fit your body. This is a review specifically for their manicure and pedicure service…read more I love the hotel & have stayed here many times. This time, I decided to schedule a mani & pedi at the end of my week stay as an added treat. When I tell you that I was shocked by my experience here, I mean it. There was nothing luxurious about this at all. And these are absolute top-tier prices for their services. They took me down the stairs after I checked in and I waited in this dark area as people were randomly walking back and forth from the pool area. A woman escorted me into this insanely small room (it looks like a closet) where there were 2 pedicure chairs right next to each other then 2 manicure stations across from that. I truly was shocked. I wanted to leave. Their website and spa detail information is so insanely misleading. This small room they cram you into has no windows, and is at the end of a dark hall. Forget that we are still dealing with the pandemic and there is zero social distancing. The two nail techs that were working were lovely but so obviously under appreciated & overworked. Which is beyond sad. My pedicure was ok but my manicure was the worst I've ever received. I wanted a French tip and the tech haphazardly painted each tip with a regular brush. Not one was the same. I also walked out and came right back to get some nail polish remover to clean up my own hands as I had white polish all over my skin. Just insane. The receptionist was appalled when I showed her my nails so she said she would take it off my bill ($65) was removed but I still paid over $150 plus tip for my mani and pedi. In my personal option, they should close down the manicure and pedicure options of the spa. It is not a luxury, high end experience. Quite the opposite. This was not a great way to end our stay here & it put such a bad taste in my mouth. I won't ever come back to the spa for any service at all.

This spa experience felt like a magical dream…read more As soon as you enter their facilities downstairs and you walk through their doorway you are transported into a zen filled space that hugs you within. You are greeted with a warm smile as they check you in and given gentle directions where you can change in their large facility into your robe and slippers. Then they guide you to where you can go to wait to meet your masseuse. It was a last minute booking and the last slot for an evening massage. It wasn't long at all before my smiling masseuse came to come and get me. Before I knew it I was laying face down getting the most relaxing massage I've had in a long time. This place serves at a high end level of excellence. My masseuse was very professional and just knew the perfect level of pressures to get all the knots, kinks, and stress print up on my back. This place lifts and floats you away from the business of the outside world and the whirls that swirl around inside your head. They know how to relax you to the max and send you off relaxed and recharged for the world. I hope to go back there sooner than later.

After securely storing our belongings in lockers, we were guided to the serene lounge area to relax before our services. My partner and I booked the Couples Journey, which was the perfect indulgence. It began with a full-body scrub, followed by 25 minutes soaking in a luxurious infinity tub with lavender Epsom salts, and finished with a heavenly 60-minute massage. I had Javier as my therapist, and he was absolutely phenomenal, one of the best massages I've ever had. His technique and pressure were spot on. My partner had Elizabeth, who was also excellent and very sweet she made us feel so comfortable and thoroughly explained everything. After our treatment, we returned to the lounge where we were offered light snacks, tea, and water. Once refreshed, we each headed to the wet lounge, which features a sauna, steam rooms, and showers. I personally loved the steam room and spent most of my time there, although I did notice the sauna wasn't heating properly during our visit. The spa was overall very clean and well-maintained. However, I echo a few other reviewers in saying the bathroom could use a bit more attention. That said, it wouldn't deter me from returning we had a wonderful, relaxing day and will absolutely be back.

We received an email before our visit asking if we would be able to switch our 10:30 appointments to 8:00 am or 11:45 am to accommodate another guest interested in services. Since we were visiting from out of town and had other plans, we were not able to switch to these times but eventually agreed to move to 9:15 even though it was not our preferred time. The attendants upon arrival were very friendly and welcoming. The eucalyptus steam sauna was closed for repair, which was not indicated when we booked. The dry sauna and hot tub were very small. As the morning went on it got incredibly busy. There were so many people waiting for appointments that there weren't enough chairs in the relaxation room, and it was very crowded by the vanity/mirrors and showers. Our treatments we good, not spectacular for the cost, but we expected expensive treatments on a busy weekend in Chicago. We were offered complimentary enhancements for switching appointment times-a face mask or eye mask. A nice touch but not nearly worth switching our plans around for. We had separate reservations to begin with but somehow when we were asked to move our reservation times, we were put on the same reservation. As a result, I was charged for my friend's service. We each made multiple calls to the spa to try to get it corrected. After at least four attempts to get it corrected over the phone, I emailed the spa. It took 8 days from when we were at the spa for them to begin processing a refund to my card. We were very surprised by all of this, especially at such a luxury spa.

We definitely plan to get lost here for the day and do a little staycation, but not with the accommodations. Enjoying the spa amenities for the day. Now to what I did not enjoy, I did not enjoy the spa having to share, it's pool with the hotel. This is a high price point hotel/ spa experience. I did not appreciate the numerous amount of families that included small children were. The parents absolutely did not discipline, nor attend to their children and their entitled behavior of taking over the entire pool area and even the jacuzzi. I did talk to management whom apologized . But it was very disheartening! This place is too expensive to not have quiet and enjoyable experience from start to finish. I received 20 percent off for my trouble. Also the gratuity is added which is more than 20 percent. But you can ask to customize your own amount. Suggest going during the week for a quite experience!
