I bought my wedding band at Facets in 2016 and have subsequently come in for repairs and tuneups. Their jewelry is absolutely gorgeous. I adore my wedding band, and after I banged it up, they restored it and make it look like new. Yes, the jewelry is to die for, but more importantly, the customer service is fantastic. Last month I came into Facets looking to get a ring resized because I had briefly lost it after it fell off. I've been to facets multiple times to get jewelry cleaned and resized and have previously been happy with my experience, however this time that was not the case. I dropped of flight my ring and the woman in the front looked at it, told me the charge and that I could pick it up in about a week. When I came in to pick it up I was shocked when she told me that the ring "was not gold" and when I asked her to clarify she said "it's like costume jewelry." This ring was a gift from a grandmother and I had assumed it was real. I was very surprised by the information, but also extremely disappointed that nobody from facets contacted me about this before moving forward with an expensive resize. I would have never spent that amount of money had I known it wasn't real, and it seems like the people who were working knew instantly (or at the very least could've called me before the work was done). I don't think this was an ethical way to handle the business. read more

I've come here to fix the lobster claw on my necklace years ago and was satisfied. So naturally when the pendant on the necklace needed to be fixed when it broke I came back. I knew the ticket price was going to be a little expensive, but I wanted the repair to be done right. The woman who helped me could see that the piece was sentimental to me and didn't want to keep the pendant until they had the piece in house to fix it. I took it home and came back two days later and left it overnight and picked it up the next day. It was good as new. The 5 stars is really for the customer service. We went to Windsor Manhattan were referred to us by a person we know at Sotheby's and they provided quotes that were three times yes, three times the price that willing to offer us. Other than paying for an overpriced change in watch battery or other menial items I would never use this firm. I worked with Irina to resize and reset my new engagement ring. She offered wonderful advice and stayed in touch with me along the whole process with beautiful digital renderings of what the ring would look like once done. We happened to drop the ring off only 2 weeks before NYC went into quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so what was supposed to be a roughly 4-week process actually turned into a little over 4 months. Through all of this, even through the entire time the store was mandated to be closed, Irina stayed in touch with kindness and understanding. I've had two awesome experiences at Facets this past week. They were able to size my fiancé's wedding ring (a detailed band passed down from his grandfather) absolutely seamlessly despite the fact that the ring needed to go down 4 sizes. It turned out to be a little too snug, but they are sizing it back up just a hair for free. At the same time I took in a pearl ring which had a beautiful setting but an old and damaged pearl. I wanted a specific tone and color of pearl, and the jeweler went to market and found one for me in a matter of days. I met Gina, who was lovely and very helpful. We didn't really know what we were looking for and the saleswoman, Maggie, was extremely patient and helpful. She helped us compare different styles and evaluate the costs of each. My mother has always wanted a large ruby pendant and several months ago I obtained a gorgeous 13 carat loose ruby at auction. I needed it to be set and after going through Yelp, I selected Facets and am glad I did. I brought in my stone and explained that I would like it set and the backstory and felt comfortable leaving it in their hands with only one specification-- that it be set in 14k gold. No other particulars were hashed out. I was promised the piece in 2 weeks. 3 days later it was ready and the result was stunning. I'm not conversant in the terms but rather than a a basket-type setting with claws to hold the ruby in place, there was a gold setting around the side of the ruby so you can see through the ruby from front to back. It is beyond gorgeous. And yesterday my sister and I gave my mother the piece and she was very moved. You would be foolish not to go to Facets. They will take very good care of you in a friendly, comfortable, and highly competent manner and you will leave quite happy. read more

I'm so grateful to Facets for helping me resize a bracelet that my grandmother gave me many years ago. It was too big and they helped remove a few links, so it now fits perfectly. I wear it daily. They were even able to tell me what kind of stones are in the bracelet, what kind of gold it is, and other details that are meaningful. They recommended I use the spare links in the future to create custom earrings or a custom charm or ring, which I'm currently saving up to do. Ever since she passed away I've been trying so hard to find ways to commemorate her, and everyone at Facets was super respectful, communicative, and helpful regarding this meaningful bracelet. Had my engagement ring fixed here - the stone setting was knocked to the side when my hand brushed against a cement baseboard. They fixed it perfectly using a laser sauter, ensuring that the setting remained stable and the stones were held down. They also polished the ring to a gleam. It was pricey but I had peace of mind knowing the job was done right. read more
