If you want a trim- they give you a haircut, not a trim. You show them the hairstyle you want and it comes out something totally different. So I started going to American places. However, my friend posted about this place on Facebook, so I decided to make an appointment and try this place out since I needed a haircut. I didn't realize this place even existed. It's literally right in front of my house!!! I never knew! I always passed by here, but I never noticed it. Anyways I called to make an appointment. The lady on the phone was not pleasant at all... But whatever. So I made and appointment and I came for my haircut. Everyone greets you when you walk in the door. I didn't have to wait- they put me straight with a hair stylist. I should've gotten her name, but she was great! She has really short hair almost like a bob- and a little older than the rest of the crew. They take your jacket and everything to put into the closet. I was taken straight to get my hair shampoo-Ed and conditioned. Then she took me to the chair to get my haircut. She asked if I colored my hair and I said no it's my natural hair color. Then she asked when the last time I had a haircut and if I take care of my hair. She kept on talking about my hair... Then she asked how I would like my haircut and how short I wanted it. I showed her a picture of the style I wanted and that I didn't want a lot taken off. And she got to cutting. And man... She did it exactly how I wanted it and didn't cut off a lot. But she did cut all the bad parts. She was really great! She did exactly how I asked her to! And the haircut was only $25. ONLY $25! THAT IS SO CHEAP! For shampooing/conditioning and a haircut! The last place I went it was $55! And that was without tip! I don't know why but I guess because it was so cheap and she did such a great job I have her a $20 tip... I don't know what I was thinking... But it was a totally of $45 which is still cheaper than the American place I had gone to. HAH I'll be coming here again. For sure.

Highly recommend this hair salon if you want a trustworthy hair stylist who has much experience. She used to work in New York City and had a studio up there and has had over 25 years of experience. On my wedding day, Stella didn't rush despite having a busy morning. She prepared my mother's hair, my maid of honor's hair, and mine all in a row. It was 150$ total for the 3 of us. My hair was up in a romantic up do and stella even lent me pearl hair pins for my big day. She finished my hair in 1 hour and it stayed up all day to midnight. So...This is my Go-To salon in the Duluth area, primarily because of convenience. Also, the pricing…read moreis very reasonable! However, I'm getting to the point that I may try to find another salon. Why?? For starters, the general attitude here is not good. Service is not a thing here, and unlike most salons, stylists (I've tried 3 different ones so far) are just not that personable. In fact, one of the three stylists I've tried here cancelled on me not once, but twice!! Obviously, I stopped booking with her. I also sense that they're not even that happy being there. I could be wrong, but it's the feeling that you get from these stylists. Still, the general hair cutting has been good...though, in my case, it's pretty basic. Just a straight line! I've always tipped 20%...but I'm starting to rethink this, given how the service is so minimal. On my last 2 sessions, the stylist barely said "Hi" to me. The place itself is pretty cool looking (in a grungy kinda way?), but I feel that the place may not be clean as it should be. I could be wrong here, but I've seen dust on their surface and arty structures. Also, I really don't like how they blow dry and comb your hair with their fingers. Not just a little bit while blow drying...but all throughout! It just feels a bit gross. I mean, who knows how clean their fingers are! I also hate the way they wash your hair. They actually have a separate girl that wash your hair (instead of the stylists)...and this girl is just not good! She has zero strength in her fingers...and I hate the way she even touches your hair! Possibly THE worst hair washing experience (experiences) I've ever had in ANY salon. I can't believe someone that's actually hired for this job (hair washing) does such a poor job! Despite liking the location and pricing, service and overall quality is always an issue. I may give it another try...but if my thoughts and feelings are confirmed once again on my next visit, I'll just find another salon in the area.
