On 11 June, I had my hair done by Danny. He did a single process which is a root touchup and it turned my roots slightly green not only that my scalp has been itching since then. I've had to put on a soothing oil since then to just relieve the discomfort. Sometimes I think putting somebody under a hairdryer with color is effective, but I guess in this case, it wasn't. No I won't be back to the salon even more so now because I haven't received a phone call. I was your client. You were supposed to take care of the needs and they were not met. I just wanted to give a review as to how disappointed I am that I never even heard from you Danny and if you have a reputation to uphold not only for yourself but for the salon as well. It would've been great to have called me to not only try to rectify the problem but to explain maybe what would've happened while I was in your care but the mere fact that I heard nothing is quite disappointing and quite pathetic as a professional stylist. Wouldn't you agree Danny?! And by the by the salon just called and instead of being apologetic, their comment was exactly how I thought it would be "you called" and I said yes I did and the girl said what do you want just like that. Luis did a great job. Super happy with the results. Keep in mind it will take a LONG time to have an all over color change with long hair (12:30-6:30) but very worth it. Honestly I didn't even notice how much time passed with Luis always doing the best he could. He did have help from other people who wasn't busy so I did feel like I was being pampered in a way. Great service. Inside is nice and clean, I went on a Sunday and it was SUPER busy, means they're doing it right in my book. Will recommend to my friends for sure! It's been about 2 weeks since my cut and color at this salon, so I've had time to really understand the current state of my hair. I have asian hair and wanted to go ash blonde with a natural root ombre so it will grow in naturally. I thought maybe I can keep my roots my natural color, but they did a full head bleach. I was there on the first day from 3pm-12am and went from dark to platinum. I was skeptical when he went in for a second bleach after the first round took so long, but decided to trust the professional.. I knew that damage was inevitable, but I was assuming a professional would take the quality of my hair into consideration to some degree. I also experienced scalp burn too. Right now, I'm experiencing a lot of breakage when my hair is wet. He should have let me know if my hair cannot achieve this without breakage. He spent so little time cutting my hair the first day, I brought up that it was uneven and he said he will fix it when I come back the second day. I came back the second day for the color application. They decided to do a brown root ombre, which isn't exactly what I wanted but worked out okay. He did spend some time "fixing" the cut but I couldn't see it exactly until after its styled which hid all the uneven cut. Overall, I'm extremely unhappy about the cut and how damaged my hair is. I've been growing my hair out all year to do a nice color for the holidays, but instead I paid over $400 for a bad cut and extremely damaged hair. Now I'm spending extra money for treatments to try and save it as I wait to grow it out. I wish they were more considerate of my hair health. read more

Overall, my experience at CJ Hair Studio was very good. I'm always skeptical of hair salons, and am usually picky about who touches my hair. However, I had an upcoming trip and some photoshoots coming up, so I wanted to do something noticeably different to the tresses. I went ahead and booked an appointment for a balayage and a trim, and was booked with Tommy. The salon itself is beautiful upon walking in. They have new, modern wood floors with decor that makes the salon chic and sleek; much better than the typical linoleum floors and harsh lighting of many hair salons. It was really busy on a Saturday afternoon, and the stylists were quick at their work. I also noticed that the styling chairs and washing stations were really nice and new-looking; the washing chairs were like little spa-beds, so your neck wasn't stressed or strained during washing. Tommy was really quick in his work, yet thorough. My appointment was at 12:00, and I walked out with dyed, trimmed and styled hair at 2:00. I can't complain! The only thing I noticed is that he didn't use heat protectant before blow drying and heat styling my hair, but I didn't speak up, so I'm not in the right to complain. I noticed some things about the color and style that weren't exactly what I wanted, but my hair looks great altogether. As far as price goes, it was moderate for what I got. I called ahead and got an estimate before, though hair is tricky and prices depend on many things other than just the service provided. I paid $150, tip excluded, for a balayage, trim and style. I enjoyed this salon, and may be back for a trim, though I usually prefer independent stylists. Would recommend for anyone in the Johns Creek/Suwanee area for sure! read more

Very very disappointed with my last visit at CJ Studio. I have been going to John for my highlights for the last few years now. This time around my color was not done right at all. It was all orangy as opposed to caramel and John insisted I wait a couple of weeks to see how it settles. I went back after a month and John highlighted some portions of my hair. When the toning was being done, it was left on my hair for longer than needed by his assistant and it seemed like I had no highlights. Although John realized the mistake but I had to voice my complain for him to agree to fix it. Anyway, he fixed the issue but then he charged me for a blow dry which is not what I had been told over the phone. If you have not done the color right and you have agreed to fix it, how can you charge me for a blow dry. Are you telling me that you will recolor my hair to fix it and then leave it out to dry for itself. My hair went through three rounds of treatment, which was completely unnecessary and John didn't even bother coming and talking to me over the counter when I complained about the overcharge. Do not waste your time here! My hair is ruined because of this place. I asked for a very specific haircut and left with extremely thinned out, uneven short hair that now has to be cut shorter to fix the damage done. I cannot remember the name of the man who cut my hair, but I should have seen the red flags. He washed my hair as if in a rush and him cutting my hair was no different. Thinned my naturally thick hair into oblivion, cut it without any sense of direction...at the end of the massacre, he didn't even bother to show me the final results from the back. I am really upset with this salon. First, several months ago, I went in to see one of the co-owners for partial highlights. Well, he was so busy that he let my foils stay on too long, and long story short, the color was off, and I had to come back for a redo. A week or so later, I come back, and it's still not right, but I couldn't do anything about it, because my hair couldn't take anymore treatments. Even two other employees there said the color wasn't right, and that my hair had been badly damaged and overprocessed. So now I'm stuck for two months with this poor hair job. So I go back, and see a new person, who I was told does well with Asian hair. Well, he straightened some of the color, and made it look less brassy, but the problem was with all the hair breakage, the color appears to be lighter and then just stops, so it looks odd. But he reassured me on his next job that he would be able to add more lightened pieces so it has more of an even flow to it. So another two months go by, and I just suck it up, although I've been pretty miserable with my hair for months now. I call him to make an appointment, and explained who I am, and what had happened in the past with the former employee, and how he promised me he could do more highlights this time. He set up my appointment, and I cleared my schedule for hours to allow for this time, and showed up right on time. He comes over to me looking completely confused as to why I was even there, and says he won't touch my hair for a year. I am shocked to hear this, after his earlier promises, and I am stunned he would have made an appointment over the phone and wasted my time. So he says there is nothing he can do, and my hair is too damaged from the former stylist, and I need a year. So first of all, why would you make the appointment, second, why would you tell me next time you can make more lighter pieces, and third, why would you even made the pieces lighter in the first place, if you can't do anything for a year? Then he calls over the other co-owner, who says no, he can do some things to it, and work around some of the damage, but can add some highlights, but I needed to come back in. Now this guy has never done color for me, but he has cut my hair once, and I say once, because he did such a bad job I would never let him cut my hair again. I had asked for it to be thinned some, because I have super thick hair, and he thinned it so much I had a rat tail. It was a complete chop job, and now I'm going to let you do highlights? No, I don't think so. I've kept all this stuff to myself thinking they will redeem themselves, but I will never use these stylists again. I am completely disgusted at this "service", and I won't be back. Now they've wasted my money and time, and both are way too valuable to be spent here again! read more

My daughter has dark hair. She wanted to color her hair burgundy. She made an appt with John few days in advance. When she got to the salon, she told John that she does NOT want her hair to be bleached! John had the lady who usually washes hair, put bleach on my daughter's head! Because she is not a professional and I am not sure she even has a license. It took her one hour and 50 mins to bleach my daughter's whole head. She has some experience with hair and was constantly telling John to take the bleach off as it was damaging her hair. He repeatedly responded saying its professional bleach and that it will be fine. John had booked multiple people at the same time and was running around trying to get to his clients during her appointment! Needless to say, my daughter's hair was completely Fried! My other daughter who was at the salon told me, while they were washing my daughter's hair, a lump of her hair fell on the floor and John kicked it aside to hide it. By the time I got to the salon, I found my daughter crying, her hair in 10 different shades of red and orange. Even some blonde! Her hair was completely fried! John kept saying her hair was like this before when it was not at all he just refused to take blame!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? This was the most horrific hair color job I have ever seen in my life! Not once he owned up to what he did or said he is sorry! I am never going back to this salon again! To make the matters worse, John left my daughter and I at his station and went to the back of the salon and started laughing with one of his co-stylists!
