I explained to her my current hair situation (heavy, no movement or volume) and a rough idea of what I wanted (with just two reference pictures). And she completely transformed my hair! She started with washing my hair, and spent a lovely amount of time massaging my scalp. This was the best washing experience I've had at a salon. No dripping water on my face or nape! After she dried and cut the hair and answered any of my hair related question. She even went as far as showing me how to style it step by step! Moi is the BEST there is if you have delicate/brittle or errant/hard to manage hair. It's a blessing to have someone like her in Dallas! I've had more than my fair share of hair experts/stylists and no one has managed to give me hair that I'm happy with as I walk out of the salon and still do days later. Been looking for a new hair dresser in DFW since I moved here and so glad I've found Moi!! She's very knowledgeable and doesn't seem to force me to do anything that I don't want. My hair has been falling out like CRAZY the past month and I started freaking out, taking biotin and collagen. I came in for a color consultation (my hair is a faded blue/silver) and hair trim because I chopped off a chunk of it while trying to brush my knot out. It was bad! Wanted to keep my long length since I have a wedding to go to in about 2 months. She wanted to really see why my hair was falling and took the time to examine it while washing my hair. With her knowledge she didn't suggest I color my hair yet until another couple months when we really find the root cause to my hair lose. I felt she was my friend/confidante/family. She would take care of your hair and knows what is best. In the past I dyed my hair with her 3 times. But when I came back another time to cut and possibly dye my hair; she stopped me from doing more damage since it was a lot of dye in the past. Moi is a really talented and a very popular local hair dresser in LA. In Pre-COVID days, Moi had always been appointment only and her bookings were constantly full! I'll need to book her a month in advance, maybe even two if I want a weekend appointment. AND I will do that! That is how good she is! Two stars because of location and Moi being such a nice person but the results... I used to come to Moi for haircuts, then I decided to make a change and dye my hair. I regretted getting my dye here. I liked Moi's dedication by offering an 8am appointment (before her salon opened). However, my appointment took about 6 hours, and I didn't get what I wanted. I remember my appointment, she handed me a book of colors. Mind you, I'm not a stylist and I don't know much about "levels", but I remember I pointed at a shade of red I wanted but I think Moi took it for the level it was... I didn't know until my hair was already dyed. I also sat through 6 hours at that point, there's no way I would've sat longer for it to be fixed. People did comment and say they liked my hair, or they were just saying it to be nice, I don't know. Needless to say, I found another salon for cheaper prices and better results. read more
