From Andy at the front desk to Lupi assisting Laura, I felt like part of the family right away. This was my first visit with Laura, and she was kind, knowledgeable, creative, and incredibly professional. My hair was a mess -- I didn't know what it needed, only what I didn't like about it. She completely transformed it, blending highlights and lowlights so naturally that the result is absolutely gorgeous. What a friendly salon! I made a mistake scheduling my appointment, and the team made sure that I was taken care of, and rescheduled my appointment on a busy day. I decided to visit Laura Mac Salon recently for a cut and color. I booked an appointment with Christian (@blendznbeauty_chris on Instagram) and she was amazing! I felt very welcome in her chair. She listened and was receptive to my ideas while ensuring that it would all work with my face. She is also a great conversationalist. Christian fit me in despite my weird work schedule, took her time and even worked after they closed to get exactly what I wanted. I appreciate it immensely! The color is exactly what I wanted and is very flattering. It also made my hair the softest it's ever been! I cut off 11 inches to donate for Children with Hair Loss and she was very helpful in facilitating this crazy change. Prices are pretty reasonable; I paid $140 for a haircut, all over color, and style at the end. The place is tiny but it's cute and welcoming. It has a fancy southern hospitality charm. I can't speak for any of the other stylists, but this place and Christian are worth checking out! read more

I was a new client at Laura Mac salon in November with very high hopes based on the reviews as I have had such a challenging 3 years trying to find a good hair salon in Rockwall enough to almost ruin my hair with one bad color job after the next. My color correction went very well but my first experience there was terrible in regards to customer service! ! My intention regarding posting this review is not to throw the Salon "under the bus " so to speak but more so in hopes to make whomever reading this a bit more aware of the issues that which are inevitably obvious to a new client and encourage awareness for improvement on their part! My second visit there which was in December. About nine days prior to my second appointment I called the salon to change my appointment time to 30 minutes later because I have decided not to get a haircut with my color. Everything was confirmed but when I showed up after driving 30 minutes to the salon I walked through the door and was met with a bit of coldness from Laura basically saying "I can't do your hair today your appointment was 30 minutes ago!" I was horrified because it was right before Christmas and I truly was desperate to get my roots done! But the worst part of this experience was explaining to her that the front desk girl did get the appointment time wrong and she completely turned it all on me!!!! Saying she was there and heard her which she clearly was not otherwise she would've told me not to come had she been sitting there ! As I was on my way I ask the front desk girl if it was absolutely OK for me to be 30 minutes late and she said sure come on in! It was a terrible mixup with them and I got the blame!!! SIDE NOTE: my first appointment with her ran 30 minutes late because of her previous client and throughout my entire appointment I was basically blamed for being the one that ran them late because of a consultation! I very happily defended myself four times telling both her and her assistant "no your previous client ran us late!" my whole point is there a zero breathing room for the client there! ZERO they basically scapegoated me as a client attempting to blame me for their disorganization and lack of professionalism! Laura told me to come back the next day STILL not bothering to take any blame for the front desk mix up. I was very kind and grateful mentioning that I would definitely blow dry of my own hair and thanked her and she said "there won't be any room for you to do that and I said so I'm supposed to leave with wet hair? She said she would just have to see since she was fitting me in! SIDE NOTE( the next day there was only one other stylist there occupying one station all the other stations were wide-open so I could've definitely blow dried my hair!!!!) The next day I was literally four minutes late due to shopping center and they put me in a state of panic basically threatening to cancel my appointment AGAIN! I have never ran so fast in my life I busted through the door in a state of panic and thank goodness I was able to get my roots done! Let's move onto the second issue, THEY ARE CLICKY with a capital K! The energy and that Salon is not warm and friendly and NOT professional and about the comfort or care of the clients in the least! In fact it was the most hurtful experience I have ever had with any salon in my entire life ! The way I was treated they're really hurt my feelings enough to actually stand my most recent appointment up which was ALSO the FIRST time I have ever done that in my life! JUST a side note: fI also found it very strange on my first visit there that her husband sat down next to me and visited with me almost the entire time I was getting my hair colored by her which made me feel quite uncomfortable and I thought was very odd!) Let me just add that something was done in regards to my root touchup that basically unwound for three hours she took to correct my color the prior month which was very hurtful to me! So I basically spend the holidays with the same color I was before it was never corrected in November! So whomever is reading this I HOPE it is read with humility as I have never been so mad at a hair salon in my entire life! Shame on you for how you all treated me! I was kind to you all! In closing new place which is located in Dallas in Highland Park and the level of class, attention, but MOST of all care for the clients feelings is amazing! read more

Over the past few years I have gone in for multiple trims, reshaping, and styling from all three of these talented ladies and every single I have left the salon feeling beautiful and super happy. Was here before christmas and had a not so good experience. I decided to give a new salon a try since it was close to where i lived and wanted to change it up a little and be funky .From the start i wasn't to convinced when i saw the ridiculous prices but i was optimistic. Starting off based on entrance i was not acknowledged, i was told to wait while other personal clients came in after me and were treated and welcomed to their chairs .My hair stylist was not the nicest , rushed my haircut and did not want to blow out /dry without me paying an extra 65 dollars . Multiple times her and her other coworkers left their station to socialice and waste time i did not have i feel like this salon is missing common sense and consideration for their clients knowing that it is not a boujee salon to charge these prices . A staff should be mature enough to communicate and be professional with clients wants and needs. Clients should be treated with respect considering their opinions on their own hair and their feelings knowing that hair can be delicate and a touchy subject for some . if you want a peaceful and relaxing hair salon experience i'd suggest find a better and friendlier salon. read more

The Salon needs to respect Others time. Took three and half hours to do partial highlights. They were short staffed and finished 3 other clients in middle Of my service. Eventually had to leave after the hair wash, without blow dry. If you are short staffed, take fewer clients, that you can handle in reasonable timeframe. read more

I have been going to Laura for years. I am almost 65. When I left after my appointment today I felt and looked 45. You would never know my real color is dishwater gray. She and her entire staff are amazing. They know color and style. It boosts my confidence so much! Today she worked in a little girl in tears who walked in with her mother. She had decided to use clippers and cut her own hair. Laura was so kind and stopped what she was doing with me, which was fine, to repair the damage. That was just kindness. I was so disappointed...borderline crying in my car afterward. The stylist was so rough when it came to her brushing, combing, and applying color to my hair. The color was nothing like what I wanted. I made the mistake of using cheap Splat purple hair dye two months ago. This stuff did not wanna come out. Courtney was absolutely wonderful, and took great care of my hair.
