The store changed hands recently and sadly customer service has gone down drastically. The former owner was incredibly friendly, welcoming and really made you feel happy to be in the store. Last time we went in after the new owners took over and remodeled the store is very nice, although a little too crowded to shop and you definitely wouldn't be able to manouver a stroller around, no one spoke to us at all outside of telling us what our total was. Another disappointing change was the lack of boys clothing. More than half of the store was all girls. It would be nice to find some boys things as well.

She told me that I needed to do a full face of makeup and to do my hair everyday to fit "bridal shop" aesthetic. She didn't let me have any appts for 2 months because one of my brides did not end up buying. We had a meeting and she told me that every customer I've worked with absolutely loves me BUT then turned right around in regards to my evaluation and said to my face that I was "just a warm body." She said that SHE would watch me and determine whether I was worth keeping. I don't believe a business owner should treat people like this. VERY unprofessional.

They have a wide variety of scents, and some seasonal ones too. My favorite is Nag Champa, it's so earthy and warm. There's a sink in the back to try their liquid soap and they have testers of all their body sprays so you can see what it all smells like. Not only do they have soaps and bath items, Mossy Creek Naturals also has some women's clothing and accessories. The curated items fit the vibe of the store, and are always very pretty and in a wide selection of sizes. They've got adorable little lavender sachets and pillows, scrunchies, candles, etc. I have a lavender pillow from there I can put in the freezer or microwave to ease headaches and pains, and it does the trick everytime. Parking is easy. They don't have their own lot but downtown Perry has lots of free street parking, some right in front of the store. As for the bathroom situation, I don't think they have a public one. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the products, as they all have some hand in making it or packaging it! I've asked for help picking out gifts and scents numerous times and they always led me right, sometimes to new items I've never seen and end up loving. Great shop for yourself or for gifts, my friends and family have loved everything I've given them from Mossy Creek Naturals. I definitely recommend stopping in if you're in downtown Perry.

This is a group home, so I'm not sure why it's listed as a thrift store -- but I want to be clear:…read morethis placement is incredible. I've been in DFCS care for four years, and out of all the places I've lived, this one stands out as the best. I stayed here from age 15 to 16, and now, as I approach 18, I'm returning with genuine excitement and peace of mind. At this home, you attend public school, earn money for completing chores, and -- if your caseworker approves -- you're allowed to have your phone. But what makes this place truly special isn't the rules or the routine. It's the way the staff treat us. They care deeply about the girls here, and it shows. They don't just do their jobs -- they show up for us like family. Coming from someone who spent years feeling like no one was really in their corner, I can say this place gave me something I didn't think I'd find: stability, support, and a sense of belonging. If you're considering placing a child here, I wholeheartedly recommend it. This home changed my life for the better.
