He had been admiring a certain turtle fossil in a local rock shop for years. I was determined to buy it for him! I called right away. However, no one answered the phone. I called again and this time left a message on an answering machine. I explained how it was quite a drive so I needed to make sure they were open before I started on the 3 hour journey. I waited for two days and no one returned my call! Very frustrated I turned to the internet and this is when I found Stones & Bones. Stones & Bones had excellent pictures and a description of exactly what I was looking for. I called and they answered the phone on the second ring. I explained that I wanted to buy a certain fossil they had but that I needed it overnighted. Considering they are on the other side of the country and it was already 4:30PM their time, I thought for sure this was not going to be possible. The owner was friendly, courteous and helpful. He immediately packed the specimen (packed carefully beyond my expectations I might add!) and got it to a shipping facility. I am not kidding when I say that less than 12 hours later the package was delivered to my front door! The fossil was more beautiful than described. It was the perfect gift and it brought tears to my boyfriend's eyes when he opened it. Thank you Stones & Bones for the extra effort you put into this transaction!!

They would not let me explain to them my situation and when I called them to try explain everything they said that if I was to call them again or come up there they would call the police on me! The staff there was most accommodating and patient and friendly. They demonstrated great consideration for my ignorance and they answered all my questions even though they were quite busy. The store was quite neat and appeared to be well stocked. My grandson was very pleased with the array of cards he was able together. His grandparents were thankful that we didn't have to dip into our "mattress fund" nor did we have to remember exactly where to dig up the money buried in the yard! In other words we got a good "bang for our bucks"! The value was just what we hoped it would be, and our grandson was happy.
