My wife's friend asked us to go try it out for free because they can get more raffle tickets for bring new people and get greater chance to win a cooler. So we went to a free 45 minutes class and we both benefit from it. Prior to going there, I researched online, watched some YouTube videos, so, I have some idea what it is. If you do not like loud music, loud environment, this is not the place for you. Upon arrival, we need to sign waiver and fill out some questionnaire. Before the class starts, the coach will give the entire group a bit rundown about how it is. There are basically 3 stations, each station has like 6 exercises, and you do the 6 exercise in the loop, repeats several times in 15 minutes and then you switch to the next station. In the next station, you have another set of new exercise, you continue to do that for the next 15 minute and then you move on to the last station, the entire workout last 45 minutes. I must say it really makes you work for it. At the end, you will be a bit tired and for sure sweaty. It is a high energy workout place. Also, if you other often, you most likely be able to make new friends. However, being a first timer there, I feel there was not much personal attention, I was expecting a bit more engagement with the people who work there, show us more with guidance, instead, I feel the entire process was a bit rush. Also, even they have their own parking lot, but parking was limited and I got blocked in when I want to leave. Since I go to the gym on my own regularly, I do not see a great benefit for me, but I think it may benefit my wife because she needs motivation, she needs a group of people or friends to push her. So, we shall see how this is going to work for her.

I have been going to f45 for over a year now and it's one of the best decisions I have made! Though I haven't lost any weight I do think my weight and muscle distribution changed. The coaches here are all super friendly and they make exercising fun! They will also come around and correct your posture if needed and if you need to do a substitute movement they will help you too! They also do fun community building events such as hikes, last fridays with BBQs, or weekend hikes and fun on magic island! Join the f45 ohana!

F45 Ala Moana is one of the best F45s studios I have trained at. I love the workout style and that you are in an out in less than an hour. The coaches are knowledgeable, fun and push you to work harder every time. Would definitely recommend.

I have been going to F45 for 3 years now (7 months at the Ala Moana location) Since giving birth to my daughter, my goal was to pick her up without feeling like I was going to break my back. I just wanted to feel strong again without living in a box gym. I tried F45 because 45 minutes is 100% doable when you have a child glued to you. These workouts constantly challenge me. I have been able to build/maintain muscle while doing high intensity workouts. I never get bored, and I've never hit a plateau. There are so many F45 locations, but the coaches and members are what set it apart! I love the family environment, and every month they do a final friday party/get together where I've gotten to meet some amazing people!

Let me start off by saying, I have never really been a group fitness type of person. And to be honest - I was extremely skeptical and hesitant at first. I started coming to F45 Ala Moana in March 2023 during the middle of my clinical rotations as a PA student. At the time, I was struggling to find the motivation and self discipline to make it to the gym after long hours at the hospital. As a former competitive surfing athlete, not working out and being active was something that was starting to take a toll on my overall health mentally, physically, and emotionally. I knew something had to change and was ready to try about anything to get me back on track. After hearing about F45 from one of my girlfriends, I signed up for the free week trial and figured I would give it a go. I was nervous when I went to my first class and anticipated that I would probably feel like an outsider. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I showed up the coaches greeted me and talked to me with excitement and made me feel super welcome. I came back the second day, and the next, and the next, and every day I showed up, the coaches always greeted me by name which really stuck out to me. I loved the workouts, how near the gym was to my house, and also the PARKING! F45 Ala Moana has their own lot in front of the gym which makes coming to class even more convenient. The gym space itself is large and open with clean and working equipment. Needless to say, after my first week I was hooked. I loved the community, the accountability, the encouragement, and the genuine feeling of a gym ohana. There were days I absolutely felt I did not have the energy to show up, and to be honest I had to force myself some days but every time I did I left the gym with a smile. I can't thank these coaches enough for being so incredible and for showing up day in and day out with such great energy and for creating a positive space for all of us members and for being there to help us reach our goals. I truly believe that I wouldn't have made the strides that I did in my overall health during a tough time in school if it weren't for this community. Thank you F45 Ala Moana team for being so amazing!

F45 is on my top list of my favorite things in Ala Moana. Typically I take class anywhere from 5am-8:15am, and the energy from the 5am coaches (typically Amanda and Chris) is amazing. It's a motivational environment with fantastic people all around. When I first got to Oahu I knew I had to find a gym. The first person I talked to was Ari, he had Lola call me and she made me feel comfortable and welcome at my first class. Since then I have come pretty much every day. I'd recommend f45 to anyone that either loves group workout classes and if you don't, you should give f45 a try!

I enjoy doing workout classes and this has been the best! I like the various times I can go to get a good full body workout.

I've been going to f45 since they first opened. I love that the workouts are always different and 45 min long. If you struggle with eating a healthy diet and/or exercising they do challenges through out the year to help keep you motivated and on track. Not only is it a gym, but you end up making new friends here. The gym host end of the month parities where members get to hangout and have a good time. The coaches are also very personable and fun!

F45 Ala Moana is really the family I never knew I needed. It's so cliché but my New Year's resolution for 2024 was to have more self love. It's been a long time since I looked in the mirror didn't hate the reflection looking back at me. The staff and members at F45 Ala Moana are the reason I can honestly say I look at myself with much kinder eyes. They are all over-the-top amazing at their jobs and foster so much inclusion that keeps people like me coming back every day. It really feels like my home away from home now.

New member of F45 and I can't rant and rave enough! I love it here. The coaches are awesome and the workouts push you. I have fun and look forward to coming every morning. I appreciate they let new members have a 7-day trial, but you'll definitely want to join after that! I'm so happy I decided to join! Also, they sell some amazing products to help with protein intake (if you're like me and always on the go...this helps!!)

I started my fitness journey about a year and a half ago and F45 Ala Moana has played a HUGE part of it. I previously hated the gym until I started coming here. The classes are 45 minutes, and the movements can be adapted to whatever fitness level you are. The gym is clean, the members and coaches have become both friends and family! The coaches keep you motivated, encourage you and are happy to help! They do a party the last Friday of the month for members and family, challenges through the year to help give you that push and just create such a sense of community! I encourage anyone to come check it out. I just turned 38 and I'm in the best shape I have ever been.

Signed on for a day pass to get the feel ... and quickly felt the Aloha; from the owner; from the Trainers; and from the other members. I've heard a good gym is the closest thing to the "fountain of youth" and I'm sure this is one such fountain. This 73' year old is getting younger every day.

After years of hearing about CrossFit, I decided to sign up for a month of the basics course at…read moreCrossFit Hawaii located downtown. I had read off-putting issues with CrossFit and its most devout adherents, including high risk of injury and a cult-like following, but I wanted to go in with an open mind and see how CrossFit works for myself. As with any large organization, your experience with CrossFit may depend on the individual box you decide to go to. I think CrossFit Hawaii is a great box with instructors who care about your safety and comfort level. Establishing safety and correct form are important when starting CrossFit to avoid serious injuries later on. The basics course does just that by making sure that members know how to do proper squats, pull-ups, and push presses. Despite the reputation that CrossFit has of attracting overly competitive athletic types into extreme sports, my experience was that the members at CrossFit Hawaii were friendly, supportive, and ranged in age and fitness levels. The basic course's Workout of the Day (WOD) was informative and challenging for a beginner. I sweat more in only ten minutes at CrossFit than I typically do working out for an hour at a big box gym. For people who lack discipline at the gym, CrossFit instructors provide the motivation needed to complete high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts in order to burn more fat and calories. It was tough, but I left feeling that I had accomplished a lot, and that my body was getting stronger with every session. The basic course is three times each week, something I appreciated after my first class because I was very sore. It took me a full day for my body to recover and my muscles to rebuild. My conclusion is that CrossFit is what you make of it. There will be always be people who will injure themselves by doing more than what they can handle, but the basic course at CrossFit Hawaii teaches proper form to prevent that from happening. I would recommend the basic course to beginners and advanced CrossFitters. I haven't decided if I will continue to go to CrossFit, but I did learn useful techniques and exercises that I can take with me to my big box gym. CrossFit also made me realize the importance of HIIT in order to reach my weight and fitness goals.

As someone who has never worked out before this, never played any sports, nor has ever stepped foot in any kind of gym this was a big step for me in getting healthier and loosing some weight. Now 3 years later i'm not super buff or supper fit and cut, but i am fitter than I have ever been, I can do a pull up, deadlift more than my weight, back squat my weight, and actually miss going to work out when i haven't gone for more than 2 weeks. One of the things i like the most about crossfit is that i don't have to think or worry about what to work on, I just go in and do what ever is programmed on the board. Also there are coaches there to help with your form and posture so you don't get injured which is really important especially for someone who has never done any of the movements before. Having a group of people sufferin...i mean working out and sweating with you builds a bit of camaraderie and if you consistently go to the same time you get to know those who also go at that time better. The most important thing to keep in mind is not to compare yourself to others while working out. More so work on your own personal best, I don't do too much one rep max because that isn't what i'm into, but I do feel like i grow in strength and stamina over the years even if it's not that apparent.

That's right - 530 AM! Believe it or not, it is NOT the earliest class - that honor goes to the 445 AM boot camp - but it's a great way to start off your day. Egan's is all about contributing to your success. There are supplements, protein snacks and drinks, and a bit of gear for sale. Parking is right on the premises at $1/hour. And there is ALWAYS parking! Everyone who works the desk greets you every time you walk in, and my coach requires a once-weekly weigh in. If you aren't trending toward your goal, she (or he) reaches out to you to talk about your variables and how you can change your trajectory. Several times a year there are also challenges to mix things up a bit. These guys are as invested as you are! Coaches are always available to you. And a weigh in isn't just a weigh in - it's a really cool overall body analysis that shows you how much water is in your system (and consequently, how much more you could have), how much of your weight is fat and how much is muscle. I know! Cool - AND it holds you accountable. The gym has an app that allows you to manage your payments and reserve a spot for classes. Membership is unlimited all access - you can go to any location at any time and take any class, multiple times a day. Yeah, people go multiple times a day! Classes are fun, but they are HIIT classes, so you do to until exhaustion. But like all fun and challenging things, you can't wait to do it again. Classes also seem to switch the instructors up as well as the workouts, so don't be concerned that you'll get bored because you won't! Even more awesome, during this COVID-19 time the gym has closed but instructors are offering any number of online classes via FB Live and Zoom so you can keep on keeping on! And they are just committed and motivating online as they were in person. I always thought I could just work out on my own and be fine. I liked doing that too. But classes appear to be something I really respond to. I like the accountability and the energy of having others participating with you. I honest to God thought I was going to pass out at my first workout. I quickly realized I was horribly dehydrated and underestimated the effects of a pre-workout protein bar and it never happened again. Egan's help you develop a real body awareness and focus, and helps you renew your commitment to your own success. If you're wondering whether you can make it through a workout, well, you're just going to have to try it. And I highly recommend that you do. You may just surprise yourself!

I know that Marisa is becoming an expert at helping the aging set seniors -that would be me recently losing my husband I decided I had to start working on my mental health as well as my physical in my younger days. I was an athlete but as four children and three husbands I tended to put on a lot of weight when I first met Marisa she explained her history of working with the elderly and I was put at ease knowing that somebody knew more about my body than a regular trainer. I would like to say I have completed the program. It was tough, but I lost 10 pounds and my body is totally different and back to the athlete I used to be don't get me wrong, it didn't help my wrinkles or all my loose skin. That takes time the way Marisa explained things to me about exercising and visiting the gym. I had never heard before. I have been to Jim's and got no results but in three months the results that have shown on my body is amazing and I feel so much better. I'm happier. I walked 3 to 5 miles a day now and I'm getting more tone each day Marisa's knowledge of training is unprecedented, especially for the older people. She took the time to really help me understand the meaning of exercise before I joined the gym. I met a gentleman and I complimented him on his physique. He was an older man like me and he commented the Jim is waiting, but I was scared. Marisa took these fears and threw them right out the window. She was honest, sincere, and extremely professional so I'm gonna tell all you Seniors out there, if you keep sitting on your butt not only is it gonna get bigger but it's putting 1 foot in the grave. I am 75 years old and I now feel 17. I have the energy and motivation I need. Thank you, Marisa, for letting me know old age is just a number. Marisa made my muscle memory came back. I was 20 in the 70s and I'm 70s in the 20s but now I feel like I'm 20s - again not only is Marisa intelligent, professional, and aware- I know she put in a lot of work with my program. The studio is a group fitness studio but with the group setting, I feel very well taken care of by the coaches who are always there to correct form and help in areas of weakness (and not just talking strength here). For example, I thought I knew how to swing a kettlebell, but it wasn't until after doing it so often here, that i learned what my body positioning should be like. This gym has a mix of strength and cardio, and for those "hybrid athletes", there is a Sunday peak class to get you ready to compete in your first (or 50th, who knows) Hyrox. I have felt that I've gotten a lot stronger after working out here and my cardio has also increased after all those difficult cardio days. The best thing about this gym is really thw owners, who will also take class with you, the coaches, and the people you trauma bond with after each butt kicking, I have found a nice home at this gym and would highly recommend others try it out, especially if they go to a gym and don't know what workout they should be doing, or even if they are looking for a different way to get those gym gains.
