Crossfit workouts can be intimidating, but the crew here do a great job explaining the workout of the day (wod) and how to incorporate any type of modification so the athlete (you) can get through the wod injury-free. From serious athlete's to stay-home-moms, students, and keiki, this gym is very accomodating. There is a special keiki room where you can put your (well-behaved) children to watch tv or play in a safe zone. There is a kids class taught here, too. The members are friendly to everyone, even those in the beginner's classes and even to those who drop in during their HI visits. As the saying goes, "try it, you'll like it" - first week is free.

Kimo Kockleman ranks as one of the best trainers on island! Featured in numerous health and fitness articles in Midweek and was recently on a special segment of KHON's Morning News with Trini Kaopuiki, Kimo brings his experience, professionalism and knowledge to help bring the best out of you! No painful and traumatizing workouts with him. He makes working out and getting fit enjoyable. I'm achieving my fitness and health goals with his motivation and ever changing exercises. I always walk away feeling GREAT and experiencing "da good kine" sore. Kimo, you rock!!! MAHALO!!!!

Ok here's the thing. I started going here right after Thanksgiving and managed to stay motivated…read morethrough the new year - due in large part to my awesome coach Mel and the lovely ladies of the 530 AM class! That's right - 530 AM! Believe it or not, it is NOT the earliest class - that honor goes to the 445 AM boot camp - but it's a great way to start off your day. Egan's is all about contributing to your success. There are supplements, protein snacks and drinks, and a bit of gear for sale. Parking is right on the premises at $1/hour. And there is ALWAYS parking! Everyone who works the desk greets you every time you walk in, and my coach requires a once-weekly weigh in. If you aren't trending toward your goal, she (or he) reaches out to you to talk about your variables and how you can change your trajectory. Several times a year there are also challenges to mix things up a bit. These guys are as invested as you are! Coaches are always available to you. And a weigh in isn't just a weigh in - it's a really cool overall body analysis that shows you how much water is in your system (and consequently, how much more you could have), how much of your weight is fat and how much is muscle. I know! Cool - AND it holds you accountable. The gym has an app that allows you to manage your payments and reserve a spot for classes. Membership is unlimited all access - you can go to any location at any time and take any class, multiple times a day. Yeah, people go multiple times a day! Classes are fun, but they are HIIT classes, so you do to until exhaustion. But like all fun and challenging things, you can't wait to do it again. Classes also seem to switch the instructors up as well as the workouts, so don't be concerned that you'll get bored because you won't! Even more awesome, during this COVID-19 time the gym has closed but instructors are offering any number of online classes via FB Live and Zoom so you can keep on keeping on! And they are just committed and motivating online as they were in person. I always thought I could just work out on my own and be fine. I liked doing that too. But classes appear to be something I really respond to. I like the accountability and the energy of having others participating with you. I honest to God thought I was going to pass out at my first workout. I quickly realized I was horribly dehydrated and underestimated the effects of a pre-workout protein bar and it never happened again. Egan's help you develop a real body awareness and focus, and helps you renew your commitment to your own success. If you're wondering whether you can make it through a workout, well, you're just going to have to try it. And I highly recommend that you do. You may just surprise yourself!

Coach Justin had been training me for the past half year and I've seen results! Working out with other women creates a safe and positive environment. We all cheer each other on here. You can pick a gym plan (how many workouts you want per month) that will best suit you. Try it out! You definitely won't regret it.

I tried a class for free on a whim thinking there's no way I'm going to drive to town regularly just for a workout. I loved the first class so much that I went once a week for the first month (June). I decided to upgrade to twice a month in July, and saw really good gains in my strength, so for August I'm trying 3 classes a month! There are various classes and schedule times available. Membership packages come in monthly packs of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, or 24 classes. I'm glad I joined right before the prices went up a bit. The prices are still very reasonable, especially since I was once an Orange Theory member $$$. I stopped going to 24 hour fitness over a year ago because of covid, and it's so packed in there all the time that it would give me anxiety even pre-pandemic. I love that all of the classes are women only (I've only taken one class where one guy showed up other than coach Justin). The only coed class is technically the Biceps and Curls class. I'm excited for more classes to be added on. Classes are generally limited to 8-10 people, with some classes being more full than others. My favorite classes are the Booty Camp and Booty Building classes. They will be moving in a few months to a bigger location. My dream is for there to be a Kapolei location so my lazy self doesn't have to drive to town anymore. They do follow Covid protocols and masks are worn during class with hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes available. Bring a towel!
