We stopped by at around 8:20am today and there were only a few people in line. Service was welcoming and kind! They had an assortment of baked goods + empanadas as well as a great matcha/coffee menu. There's lots of seating for anyone who wants to hangout with friends or study. So awesome to see that they serve Nami (aashleyk's matcha brand). I ordered a chicken empanada, pan de elote, & an iced matcha cloud (less sweet & oat milk). Everything was absolutely DELISH. I'm pretty picky about my matcha, especially when it's in an Einspanner form. I loved the contrast between the sweet/salty cloud and the matcha itself! This place has their ratios down perfectly. Can't wait to come back (probably tomorrow)! 11/10.

The staff were awesome and super friendly. I got the Mia-mor Latte and a plain bagel with cream cheese, and both hit the spot. One major bonus: they only charge $0.50 extra for oat milk! Most other coffee shops charge $1.00 or more now, so that was a really nice surprise. They also gave me a stamp card for future visits, which I'll definitely be using. Will absolutely be back!

Spill the Beans has completely ruined every other coffee shop for me…read more I'm here every single morning, and there's a reason. The bagels are larger, fluffier, and have this perfect subtle sweetness -- rumor has it they're boiled in agave syrup, and honestly, it shows. The Lox, Stock & Bagel hits different when the bagel itself is this good, and the McLovin is worth every bite too. The rotating selection keeps it fresh enough that I genuinely look forward to switching it up. Then there's the Basic Sitch -- don't let the name fool you. Best Caramel Macchiato I've had anywhere. Period. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out. And if you have, you already know.

Parking is a bit of a pain bit of you are in waking distance or come early enough it shouldn't be an issue. Sometimes they run out of items if you come later in the day. They have a special Bagel of the month, so make sure to ask what it is. They have several bagel flavors, and different flavor cream cheese spreads. I love the habanero bagel, it's one of my favorites, but just be warned it is very hot. Definitely don't eat it without something cold to drink. They also have a breakfast sandwich called the San Diego which is a favorite of several people I know. You chose the bagel you want it with and they add fried eggs, bacon, cheese and aioli. I highly reccomend it. I've not had a lot of their deinis, but i did order the cinna-bee which has honey, cinnamon, espresso and milk. I thought it was good and would order it again. Definitely check them out and try some of their bagels, or perhaps one of their sandwiches.

Food 5/5 -Hayashi Omurice $20, wow it's no wonder why almost everybody that comes orders this dish. The flavor is so rich but not overwhelming, every ingredient tasted so seasoned, soft and compliments each other perfectly. It really tasted so authentic like I was in a cafe in Japan. -Hot hatsu curry udon $22, the curry broth was a soft slurry that coated every strand of al dente udon. The green onions made it so refreshing, beef was tender but the ultimate stars were surprisingly the super soft carrots and potatoes that have absorbed all of the curry's essence. I enjoyed every bite out of this bowl. Ambiance 5/5 -The space is pretty small and intimate but very comfortable, pink floral theme throughout and with one of the cleanest bathrooms I have seen in a restaurant(warm bidet seat included).

Went to Hatsuzakura around noon on a Sunday and wow... the line was no joke. We had heard so many…read morerave reviews and were craving some good Japanese comfort food, so we put our name down despite the quoted 45-60 minute wait. Ended up being closer to an hour, and by the time we got seated, we were definitely starving. We started with Chef Soichi's Karaage, which honestly ended up being the biggest disappointment of the meal. Not much flavor and definitely not what we were expecting given all the hype around this place. The clear winner of the day was my son's Hayashi Omurice -- super comforting, flavorful. My daughter and I split the Yakisoba, which was decent but nothing particularly memorable. The Guratan was creamy, cheesy penne pasta dish and definitely a kid pleaser. My husband ordered the Hatsuzakura Curry with chicken substituted in, and while solid, it still felt hard to justify the price point overall. We had originally planned to try the Onigiri too, but after seeing multiple reviews mention the rice-to-filling ratio being off, we decided to skip it. Dessert definitely redeemed the experience a bit. The Mango Matcha Kakigori was the family favorite and perfect for sharing, while the Coffee Jelly was appreciated by my coffee-loving hubby. Overall, a 3.5 star experience. Themenu felt pretty simple and honestly overpriced for what you get. The space itself is also very tiny with limited seating, so be prepared for a wait. That said, the service was excellent throughout the meal -- the staff were extremely courteous and kept checking in after we were seated and updating us on kitchen wait times, which we really appreciated. For us, this felt more like a drinks-and-desserts spot than somewhere we'd go out of our way for a full meal again.
