My family and I have frequented F&J Pine restaurant for many years and have held some of our major life events there. One thing I can confidently say is, the service far exceeds our expectations, each and every time. At F&J Pine, Mr. Anthony Bastone and Kelly Fernandez are wonderful, professional and kind people to work and interact with. If you're looking for ambiance, a cozy atmosphere, great vibes and absolutely delicious Italian cuisine, I highly would recommend F&J Pine. From their extensive bar to their decadent food, the atmosphere, and that New York feel, you will love everything about your experience. Drop in, taste the wine, have a meal that tastes like home and see for yourself. read more

First of, I do need to begin with stating that TONS of people referred us to this restaurant but time wouldnt allow until now. This place is huge and gorgeous with friendly staff. The dishes are family served so its a lot of food and well worth the price. We ordered the porterhouse for two which included 2 lobster tails, 2 piece of filet mignon, 2 large baked clams, 2 stuffed jumbo shrimp, potato croquettes, rice and toasted cheesy garlic bread. OMG, the food was amazing and absolutely no complaint. The steak was tender and cooked to our liking perfectly. Lobster tails were broiled and seasoned wonderfully. The staffs friendly and attentive. Absolutely no compla int. read more

Great place to avoid the crowds on Arthur Avenue. Took relatives from out of town and they love it. I miss the old setup before the expansion, but still worth the stop. read more

I'd drive by this place every so often so I figure let me stop in and grab some dinner, must say the appearance is beautiful and they are applying covid rules with having staff wear face mask and keeping it social distancing with the table layout as you dine indoors. I like the idea they have a temperature scan at the door but what threw me off was having the paper menus instead of the barcode menu which some restaurants have to prevent spread of covid or germs. So I ordered the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti pasta with olive oil and garlic, I believe the portions were decent but didn't expect to get a smaller plate for a side because I'm so use to a family style pasta with the big bowls but this wasn't as bad. The waiter mention I'd have to order 2 sides to get a bigger portion of pasta, I'd also like to note the chicken parmigiana could of had a bit more of a taste to it. Personally it wasn't worse taste but wasn't all that great, The garlic bread with cheese was pretty good as well and the overall experience was good. Keynotes here: possibly change up the main dinner menus to barcode scans, also add a bit more of seasoning to the food. well onto the pictures. read more

Very beautifully decorated Italian restaurant! I loved the old school Italian pieces mixed with the NY Yankees memorabilia. I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with broccoli and grilled chicken. Grilled chicken was great, broccoli was on point (I mean you can't mess up broccoli) the fettuccini was cooked perfectly. The Alfredo sauce was a little thin, if you like it that way then this is perfect for you (I like a creamier sauce)... but I thought it was delicious. Huge portions! I ate about less than half and I was beyond full! I only gave it 4 stars because my bf ordered the chicken parm and although he liked it, he's been here a hundred times and said that it was a little off. Either way we will absolutely come back! read more

I went twice here and both times the food was trash. First I order fettuccine Alfredo and the noddles was soft but the sauce was okay. Then I said let me give it another shot and ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I got pure garbage. The sauce was sour the noodles was soft no care or thought into the food. My boyfriend ordered spaghetti and garlic sauce with olive oil and he got plain spaghetti. I would not recommend this place. read more

What a disappoint. This was always a go to place for excellent food and service. I was here a few months ago and didn't yelp thinking "they just had a bad day". Sadly this isn't the case. Go to Carmine's in the city if you want excellent Italian food. There were so many signs that we ignored: Arriving at 1pm and had to wait 20 minutes Once at the table no one came over for 15 mins Appetizer never arrived because "he forgot to put it in" Complimentary salad only served after 4 (interesting considering the prices are the same at 1pm and 4pm) Lukewarm food Stuffed shrimp was a disgrace When Diego left and went to the location on Eastchester Rd I should have stopped coming back. what happened?! the quality of F&J Pines has plummeted beyond belief. I've gotten sour tomato's, slimy lemons, chicken nuggets that had an awful texture (chewy, gelatinous, old, soggy calamari that had an odd translucent film that detached from the ring, salty Veal cordon-blue etc. cleary I've tried to write off each fail as "maybe an off day" but after today.....I doubt I'll be coming back here. I dunno what to attribute the change to but it's so sad to see such an amazing restaurant decline so drastically. read more

The new management and new host / matre'd is an absolute jerk. He spoke to me in a condescending tone thinking that I didn't understand him. They apparently accept reservations for any size party without a limit starting at 2 people, in the past it was for parties of 6 or more. This jerk felt the need to give an explanation on how reservations and walk-ins work because I have a group of 4 people. This place is getting worse by the day as soon as management changed hands and post pandemic days and we haven't even received the food yet. read more

Ate here 10 years ago.. food was great. Ate here recently (last week) and it was just below average. Side note: menus were gross and falling apart- the waiter even laughed at this. Side side note: my husband had Chilean sea bass and was violently throwing up ALL night. (Gross). We contemplated going to the hospital but decided against it and called the doctor instead. Pasta is not homemade - clearly from a box.. veal was extremely tough.. (so tough that I almost choked on it).. Marsala sauce was like a bad grown gravy. Ordered a single espresso, was brought a double.. when I stated I only ordered a single the waiter argued that I said double.. ok. Got charged for it anyway and didn't even order a double. Baked clams were ALL breadcrumbs.. barely any clam. :( it's a shame this place is in the Morris Park section - typically known for its Italian food. Warning: large portions do not equate to quality food. Quality over quantity. Just because the portions are enormous it does not mean that they taste good by any means. Clearly this place has changed for the worse.. read more

Went to F & J today with my two kids and experienced terrible service-maybe even racism. Walked in and it was relatively empty for a Saturday (I've been here a few times). I told the hostess there were three of us and he asked us to wait while he got a table set up. Then a group of 4 walked in (two adults to kids) and a group of three (two adults and one kids) walked in and were seated Immediately! This is all while he's fielding request from a woman. With a birthday cake and arranging guys to come help her get stuff from her taxi- so no lack of multi tasking here. The groups were white and me and my children are black. It wasn't busy, we were dressed appropriately, and we were standing right in front of the podium. All good. I'm a firm believer that if you are mistreated in the service industry, don't patronize. I feel it was a racist oversight and I won't be back. I can get average pasta anywhere... read more

Use to come here all the time when we lived in the Bronx. We got invited to a family event in one of the private party rooms and we were reminded of why we frequented so much in the past. We had forgotten how good their food was! We had drinks by the bar before the room was ready and the service and drinks were made very well. I work at school, and we always order catered food from here. It is great and the food taste amazing!

Looking forward to going back after 30 years. Menu looks fantastic. The Best! Super Chicken Parmigiana yum, melts in your mouth good.

NYC Phase 1 opening, and my first stop is the PINE!! It's important to support our local restaurants if we want them to succeed. I'm so happy to say F & J Pine is open and DELICIOUS!! It was a beautiful date night eating outside - al fresco. They don't take reservations, but there was no wait when we came. Everything was very tasty, and although they didn't have some ingredients... it was totally acceptable considering we are just starting to get back to "normal." We saw a BUNCH of take out orders too, if that's better for you. Keep it up PINE! See you again soon. (Shout out to our server Arturo!) read more

I love this place. The vodka pasta is amazing and the cesar salad. We always cater from here for work.

I would not recommend to anyone who is not Caucasian. You will 100% be treated indifferent. Called in to inquire about reservations and table availability, was told by host on the phone that it was first come first serve and to just come in, was rude on the phone to us. Came in and host saw my ethnicity and long hair immediately was bet with bad energy at the entrance and was told the entire restaurant was reserved and wait would be 30- hr. Hosts was absolutely disgusting trying to stir the pot and get a rise out of us with rude comments and energy. Service was just as horrible. You will be attended to last, food served last, any changes or edits to the order will be met with nothing but hostility and prejudice behavior. I will never return, I will never recommend, I would never want anyone to experience such a bad treatment and vibe. You will watch as caucasians, are seated first, tended to first, served first, order taken first, fed first and treated better as you wait. Save your money and time do not even take the chance. read more

Went here yesterday 5/13 with a group of about 18 people. Luckily we had a reservation and were seated almost immediately upon arrival. The restaurant itself was very clean and the staff very friendly considering it was extremely packed and busy. The ambiance of the restaurant was very friendly and homelike. Once we sat down the waiter brought over free bread as well as salads for everyone which were delicious. I ordered the pasta as well as the pizza which were both super delicious. Highly recommend sharing meals, they give huge portions of food which is great you definitely get your money's worth. Highly advice having a reservation before arriving, I've heard the restaurant is always busy. But really worth the wait as both the food and service were perfect. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for 10+ years. I've been here on dates, family birthdays, girls night, and solo dates. This place is GREAT! From the greeters, to the waiters, to the food, and overall ambience! We celebrated two of my grandmas birthdays at F&J Pine, her 90th birthday and her 94th. For her 94th we rented one of their private dining rooms/venues and the service/food/drinks was nothing short of amazing. Some dishes I would recommend are as follows: Parmigiana with Chicken - my son's fave, Parmigiana with Veal - my mom's fave, Chop House Trio: Pork Chop, Filet Mignon, Lamb Chops - my dad's fave, Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp, Crab Meat and Bay Scallops - my sister's fave, Pasta Primavera - my vegan hubby's fave, the Wild Mushroom Risotto - my sis in law's fave, the Filet Mignon - my baby brother and older brothers' fave. Finally, I would not recommend the shrimp scampi as I was disappointed I asked if I can replace it but that is not allowed. But they said they can remake it which I opted for. Unfortunately, it was worse than when they initially served it. As far as my faves: I'm a basic chick So, the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken (will be a forever fave), my 2nd fave is the Penne Alla Vodka with grilled chicken, and my absolute fave is the basket of bread that's brought out when seated, it's fresh, warm, and just yummers! I use to love their carrot cake but they no longer have it on the menu. I'm looking forward to my next visit and will be trying the Rigatoni Pine Style in Alfredo sauce with shrimp or grilled chicken! You should absolutely go check them out! read more

I was pleased to see that Covid protocols were followed here. All staff wore masks, and we were asked to show vax cards prior to seating.. Plexiglass shields have been added between tables since my last visit a few years back. This place doesn't nickel and dime you. Hearty salad with olives, bread and olive oil are complimentary. We started out with a huge order of muscles. They were plump, tender and piled above a delicious tomato sauce. The portion was so generous that two hungry people struggled to finish them, what with dunking our bread in the yummy sauce. The Sangria was nice too. We then enjoyed escarole and bean soup, great and enough for two days. I had chicken Marsala with mushrooms. The chicken was tender and the mushrooms and sauce was flavorful. Once again, huge portions. I had plenty to enjoy at home the following day. Our service was friendly and cheerful, and my water glass kept getting refilled. In addition to the waiter checking on us, an owner stopped by to make sure we were happy. Our leftovers were packed quickly and cheerfully. The atmosphere was upbeat at the Pines, as several groups were enjoying birthday celebrations and everywhere you looked people seemed to be having a great time.. The bathrooms were clean and modern. The manager asked us how we did on the way out and the valet parking was quick and courteous . I have never had a negative experience here or at their sister restaurant in a hotel at Flushing Meadows. Highly recommend. read more

Very disappointed. There once was a time where you could get a solid northern Italian style meal at the Pine. Unfortunately that is not the case anymore. On our last visit we ordered the hot antipasto which consisted of greasy, overcooked calamari, clams and stuffed mushrooms. We ordered veal parmigiana which was tough, overcooked and covered in greasy, tasteless tomato sauce. There are so many other options in the Bronx for quality Italian food. For the money that was spent on this meal we were better off eating at any other italian restaurant on Arthur Avenue. read more
