We got the Don't Judge Me Roll and Double Dragon--both delicious and came out fast. Fúdo came highly recommended by a few friends, so had to check it out while I was in town. The space is moody and sexy. Great for date nights or GNOs. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar and got drinks before moving on to a table. We both ordered the espresso martini. Theirs is made with whiskey, which I've never had before. It was an interesting take, and although I prefer the classic version, Fúdo's wasn't bad. We ordered the spicy edamame, rice cakes, and a few sushi rolls to share. Everything was so, SO good! However, there were a few aspects that took away from my overall experience this time . Upon arrival, the young lady at the front was unpleasant when asking for my phone number to confirm the reservation. Our table appreciated how attentive and knowledgeable our waitress was. She kindly guided our party through the menu, which was especially helpful as it was the first visit for some of our guests. More significantly, the mood of our celebration shifted when two of the busboys appeared to point and laugh in our direction. One of our guests addressed it, and while the bus boys walked away, the moment felt uncomfortable and out of place. We did speak with our waitress, who was understanding and assured us that she had informed management about the incident. While I've had positive experiences here in the past, this particular visit left us feeling disappointed, especially on what was meant to be a special occasion. It is quite romantic inside with the dark ambiance, but we enjoyed it for a date night. - FOOD - We ordered the Spicy Tuna on the Rocks, Pokemon, 007 Fried Roll, Crunchy Shrimp Roll, and A Star is Born roll. We also got an order of chicken fried rice. My favorite roll is A Star is Born, and two days after, I am still thinking of it. My boyfriend LOVED the 007 Fried Roll, and typically, we are skeptical of fried rolls since they never truly hit the spot for us. However, this fried roll was delectable, and we loved the crab topping on it. I was a fan of the Pokémon roll as well, but my boyfriend preferred the Crunchy Shrimp roll, though for me, it reminded me of a california roll with shrimp tempura haha. The fried rice is very good, and I loved that they cook it with peppers since it imparts such flavors into the rice. The only thing I didn't particularly enjoy was the Spicy Tuna on the Rocks. This is my fav place to get sushi in Atlanta! Just went for wifeys birthday. The service is always top notch too. This is a very well run restaurant in general. It's also really modern and nice on the inside. We always order sushi rolls exclusively. They don't overdo it on the sauce, and every roll we've had is a lot of fun and really tasty. Pricing is standard for sushi, about 15-18 per roll. I haven't had a better place in ATL, as this is our go-to and we'll be back in the future. I made a late lunch reservation with Fudo on a Saturday for four. The place was pretty lively while we were there and as we left, so I was anticipating a good meal. For appetizers, I had the edamame, which was pretty standard. For my main, I ordered the devil roll and smokey salmon roll; I also ordered various pieces of nigiri (yellowtail, scallop, salmon). Between the two rolls I ordered, while I enjoyed the variety in texture from the crispy salmon skin in the smokey salmon roll, they both tasted and were presented similarly. I thought this was because I had ordered two rolls of the same ilk. Yet, my partner and family ordered another four rolls collectively, and they were all topped with the same garnishes and sauce. While the fish was quality, I felt that the rolls were overwhelmed with toppings and sauce, lacking distinction between them. I would probably stick to just ordering nigiri if I were to go again. The waitress we had was super kind. I enjoyed the dim lit seating and decor. I will note that with my reservation, I requested booth seating. Upon arrival, I checked in and they had not sectioned out a booth for us. Though they offered to seat us in the booth after a wait, I am disappointed by the unpreparedness.
