Awesome fried rice and mochiko chicken. Pearl city exogiku does not offer mochiko chicken. I got the mini plate mochiko chicken with curry and babe got the ramen combo with fried rice and gyoza. Fresh and chewy gyoza with homemade filling, not frozen. Fried rice very flavorful. Small shop with ample parking outside, there dishes are priced well for the portions they give. I personally like this location better as the pearl city one doesn't offer the sweet and tender mochiko chicken. Very good! Waimalu has many and one gives you a lot of bang for your buck! Definitely easy on the wallet. Review 58/100 for 2017 read more

If you want authentic Japanese Ramen, then you've come to the right place! All the other ramen shops (that I'm not gonna name) is.... okay. But this place is both delicious and price friendly! The amount of food they serve for the price, you can't get anywhere else. Parking has a lot, sharing with other delicious restaurants in the line up. Price for a bowl of ramen is about $8.50 (Average). They also have Crispy Fried Noodles, Fried Rice and Gyoza! I personally recommend the Mabo Tofu Ramen (a little on the spicy side), along with the 3 item combo which has the Ramen, 4-piece Gyoza, and Mini Charsiu Pork Fried Rice! The price for a ramen with the combo is about $12-13.00 depending on what ramen you get. You can trust me when I say this place is the bomb! read more

All things come to mind for me of a ramen place, where they serve gyoza, fried rice, curry, and of course ramen. I have been to a few ramen places, and this is my favorite place so far! They have more selections and take their ramen to another level. Part of me felt like ordering a combo (typically at other ramen places) that includes gyoza, mini ramen and mini curry dish. But that night I wanted to try something different, so I settled on the garlic shrimp ramen. In other words, it is their take on a popular local dish, garlic and butter shrimp...and delicious it was! Tastes exactly like a garlic and butter shrimp plate in ramen form. You get the garlic flavor throughout. I'm really not a fan of ramen, but I love this dish! It's perfect if you want something light with lots of flavor. I added to my order a side of gyoza as well; it's an additional $1.75 for four pieces with the garlic shrimp ramen. FYI, their portions are huge; I only ate half of it and brought the rest home. Also, I came with my parents and they shared they three item combo, which came with mini fried rice, gyoza and their choice of the seafood champion ramen. They ordered an additional side of gyoza since they love gyoza so much that mom and dad each had their own set. I tried a little bit of the ramen and it was delicious! The fried rice to me was dry. A few downsides was that there was no AC, my water was iced down and there no place for me to put down my big, thick purse. We sat that the counter, which was quite too small to put my purse on top. I ended up placing it on my lap, which made it quite difficult to eat. With that said, ladies if you are sitting at the counter make sure you come with a smaller purse or have a purse holder! Despite my experience, I enjoyed eating here! The food and friendly service makes up for it. read more

Came late on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much that late in the day and the place is quite dated when you walk in. First impression was that oh boy, this is going to be bad, looks like a dump. However, after sitting down and realizing that it was family run (the grandfather was cooking, grandmother was in the back, daughter waited on me, granddaughter helped her because she didn't speak much English), I found out that this place is actually a hidden gem. The employees were nice, the prices are cheap and the food was hot, fresh and delicious!! I got a ramen combo with fried rice and some fried noodles. Really tasty. I'll definitely be back, especially when I have a craving after 9pm. read more

Loooove shrimp fried rice and gyoza here. remind me old Japanese ramen place back in home. Potion is a lot I recommend.

I can't give a good review because I totally had a bad reaction to this food. I ended up getting an allergic reaction to all the msg in the food here. I know you all are probably saying "IT'S A RAMEN PLACE OF COURSE IT'LL HAVE MSG". But the amount of msg got me really sick. Usually it's a good place, good combos for ramen and fried rice but because of what they put in their food I wont be back. read more

Ezogiku - The men at work! - Ramen Near Me - Aiea, Hawaii

Small Japanese/Chinese restaurant located in this shopping center in Aiea side. It's known for its yummy combo meals I think. Decent price and good food. I order a veggie seafood noodle soup. It was decent size and portion. My bf had the mochiko chicken with gyoza and miso soup (combo). The food was pretty good. Noodle was yummy. Not too salty just right. My noodle soup is starchy because of the sauce. But there is some soupy flavor in it. read more

I absolutely love coming to this ezogiku location. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. It's a small restaurant so seating is limited and can get very busy at peak hours. We always like to come late at night around 9ish (I think they close at 10p or 11p). There's lots of parking since its in the strip mall so it's never really a problem! I always get mini combo a which has a mini shoyu ramen, 4 pc gyoza and a side bowl of rice. My bf gets mini combo b which is a mini shoyu ramen and mini pork fried rice. We've also had the cold tofu as a side which was okay, nothing special. Some items I still want to try are: mochiko chicken and their beef curry! Also, now they accept iDcard so you can get 20% off!!! And be sure to get a stamp card (there's an expiration date so you can't wait too long in between visits) so that after 10 visits you can get a free meal :). read more

Hole in the wall, but a great local business to support. It is a small restaurant with only a handful to tables and located in the Waimalu shopping center. It can get quite hot because there is an open kitchen, but I think that is a great entity because they are willing to let the customers see exactly how they prepare the food without hiding behind a closed door. Friendly to all ages. I ordered the spicy ramen, which was quite spicy and tasted like home. I was happy to find that not only was I given the standard noodles and broth, but there were also vegetables, shrimp and meat. My grandpa ordered the shoyu ramen whose broth was very flavorful and he finished the entire dish! I could not finish mine because the portions of ramen entrees are big! We also shared the gyoza - fantastic. Ambiance: Louder than average, rough around the edges in a good way Service: Prompt and personal Food: If you are looking for an unpretentious joint - this is a winner. Food that tastes like your grandma could've cooked it up with love with fair prices. read more

We live right up the road from here so this is our go-to "I'm too lazy to cook dinner tonight" place! The food is consistently yummy and so cheap. My favorites are their Yakisoba, cold ramen, and beef sukiyaki bowl. You honestly can't beat the price and quality of their beef sukiyaki which is my #1 fave from here. The broth is rich, the meat is tasty, there's tons of tofu, and the pickled ginger on top of the hot rice puts everything together! I always see the same lady waitressing and the same guy cooking. I'm pretty sure they're there 7 days a week? They are always so friendly and it breaks my heart when I see people act so rudely to them so please be kind because those two work their butts off! read more

This place looked like a place where time forgot...There was a very solemn feel to the restaurant when I walked in..But I really wanted ramen and I wanted to try this place out. So I asked if I could just sit at the counter and looked at the menu. There were quite a few items written on the wall. I always like the open ramen kitchen and I sat at the bar so I had front row seating to watching them make food. It was actually kinda cool. They had all the soup bases on the side of the work space and all the ramen toppings on the other side. First they set the bowl with the soup base on the counter. Then they would steam the veggies in the wok and use the hot water for your soup. The noodles are cooked in a separate pot in long strainers that look like steel nets. So the noodles get dumped in the soup and then your toppings go inside: chashu, kamaboko, green onions, like that. Quick and easy. I got the mini ramen/gyoza/rice combo (kinda weird that it came with rice) and I got my ramen spicy. Now the spicy ramen was quite spicy so jusst saying, if you don't like your nose running while you slurp noodles, you better not get this. My mouth had a really nice tingle to it. I really enjoyed it. The gyoza was little small for my tastes but still steamed/seared to perfection. Just the perfect amount of crunch. I even ate my rice. I would have actually just preferred to get ramen and the full 6 pc gyoza I think. They do have a frequent visitor stamp card but it looks as though it is only by month. I guess I just gotta visit and see! The gentleman working did get quite excited when I told him it was my first time dining there. :) And I can tell you it won't be my last. #Yelp 365 Challenge- 035/365 read more

I used to frequent this place every weekend. The staff here are pleasant and the prices were very cheap. After a long hiatus I returned to a nicely paved parking lot (the parking lot used to be broken down), raised prices and a revamp of their menu. I had the miso ramen with a side of gyoza. The ramen was average and a little light on the noodles and char siu, but had more than enough bean sprouts. It also did not have that full flavored Hokkaido style miso ramen flavor that I have come to love while living in Japan for three years. However, in my experience, good ramen is hard to find outside of Japan. I believe Ezogiku is a Japanese chain and the place looks like any noodle place you'd find in Japan, but it is not quite there. The gyoza were smaller than what you would find in Japan, yet tasty. All and all the place is A-Ok. read more

Huge complex, so it is easy to miss the entrance. Good food and fair value, but walls, equipment, and overhead need cleaning.

My wife & I went there on a Friday night around 9pm and was surprised to see the place full! We managed to secure the one & only table. The counter was full also and people still coming having to wait outside. We each ordered the miso ramen with gyoza & shared a pork fried rice. Unfortunately tonight the food was not very good. Our miso ramen had a very strong miso flavor that was quite overbearing, the gyoza tasted old like it was in the freezer too long & the pork fried rice had very little taste. We have visited this place a few times in the past and found the food rather acceptable but on this occasion it was not! The workers there are friendly & helpful but I believe because they were extremely busy it affected their food preparation. read more

Best mochiko chicken curry udon!! The chicken was so light and crispy with perfect amount of seasoning. The prices here are reasonable. The quality and service is consistently great. The most traditional ramen that I grew up with in Japan! Miso, Shoyu, Shio, they're all good! Their fried rice is really good as well!

I always enjoy their food. I'm only writing a review now because they are handling covid seriously, which is nice to see. While we were dining, two guys came in and both did not pass the temperature check. They got really loud and rude to the employee, but she stood her ground. They had to leave. Great job! Food is amazing as usual. Best gyoza on the island hands down. read more

The strip mall Ezogiku is located in not much to look at. However, their ramen is inexpensive, satisfying and portions are enough for a really hungry person or two meals if you aren't starving. My favorite dishes are the 3-combo miso ramen (with extra char-siu for an additional $2.75) gyoza, and fried rice OR the 3-combo yakisoba, gyoza and fried rice. I always take the fried rice home and make a nice rice bowl with rotisserie chicken and steamed veggies for the next day's lunch. They are quick, service is pleasant and, again, very inexpensive. The owner(?) of Ezogiku also turned us on to Palama supermarket next door which has a nice Korean deli with kimchi, spicy dried anchovies, kalbi and lovely green tea waffle ice cream sandwiches. read more

Good food and cheap. While I was waiting for my order to come, I caught the waitress whose also the cashier accidentally dipped her elbow in the pitcher of drinking water and then serving it to the customers. I also caught the main cook touching his face and making our food without washing his hands. I wonder what is the rule about wearing gloves? read more

My noodle-heavy Korean upbringing may have fed my love (and now professional acumen) for Italian cuisine, but I'm still Asian and I still love ramen, especially if the four syllables eh-zoh-GEE-koo ring in my ears. Foodwise, this little, no-frills location is definitely the best of the rest (Kaheka second, the others not really worth my time); I never need to add extra shoyu to the broth here. Service varies but is for the most part pleasant enough and efficient, unless you've got that stout Chinese lady who seems to never catch a breath. I don't care for the char siu, which is pretty much cold roast pork, so stick to the wonton (tinytiny dumplings but gingery and flavorful - and I love the silky pi from Sun Noodle) or miso ramen; the miso paste is prepared in and flown in from the main Ezogiku branch in Tokyo. And I'm still blown away that there's a branch in Vancouver! If you're thinkin' about getting the chicken veg ramen, get it without the chicken, which is just fatty, tasteless pieces of previously frozen protein. It's cabbage-intensive, which I don't mind, but they're good about accommodating "no-this, extra-that" kinds of requests. Yakisoba is mehhh but Cold Noodle, even though doused in bottled sauce, refreshes on hot 'Aiea afternoons. (Extra cucumber, please!) And if you, noodle hater, got dragged here by your noodle-loving pals, have the katsu curry. It's pretty bomb. And if you, fat-ass, need more than one bowl/plate in front of you, add 4 pieces of melt-in-your-mouth gyoza for $1.50. Add a small pork fried rice for another $1.50. Cos I do. read more

I always get the Combo B, which is a mini ramen and pork fried rice for $6.75 I think. Their "mini" ramen is actually pretty big, especially compared to some of the other ramen shops I've been to. Walked in around 8pm and there was only 1 couple inside. This place is in a sketch looking area. That could be why?? The ramen was bland and noodles tasted too eggy if that makes sense. I should've known better when the owner and I believe his wife were talking Chinese. Chinese people cooking and serving Japanese food is a little weird. I am half of both cultures and I still think its weird. Against everything in my head telling me not to, I decide to give Ezogiku a try because I was craving ramen. I am going to assume that this place was originally owned and opened by a Japanese family and they retired and sold it to the current Chinese family. I ordered a combo set with gyoza and curry. The only thing that I can say was good was the curry. It was a little thick, maybe too much corn starch but it still had good flavor. The ramen and the broth tasted like noodles in water with a little salt for flavor. I saw pictures of mochiko chicken covered in curry. Sounded good but I can only imagine how soggy the chicken would get and the dish would just be curry chicken with a little batter mixed in. Doesn't sound too appetizing to me but hey for the courageous I say go for it. Would I come back if I'm on the island??? Probably not unless I want curry, but I am sure there are better placesfor that. read more

My favorite saimin place is here. Like many others stated, it's a hole in the wall restaurant & that's what makes it good. I like how the menu is simple. Not way too many options but just enough. Bottom Line: Eat with your eyes closed. You may not like what you see going on behind the counters... Lets start by saying this. I've eaten there 3 times. I've had...ahem...an upset stomach each time. Coincidence? Maybe. Well, I've had their Spicy Seafood Ramen, A Chicken Curry, and the Mabo Ramen. The first two items were pretty good tasting. Standard local fare. The Mabo ramen simply wasn't that good. It had all kinds of interesting textures going on it there...like there was probably radish or something in there, and I thought "that's interesting, I wonder why noone else puts that in their Mabo - maybe because it doesn't taste good in there." So past the food...there was quite a bit of filth going on in the back area. They were also emptying out some meat into a sink they were using just earlier to wash some kitchen utensils or something. I dunno anything about restaurant food preparations or whatever - maybe they have some industrial strength sanitizing solutions, but I did not like seeing that going on while I was trying to eat my funny tasting Mabo ramen. Why not 1 star? Well, like I said, a couple of the dishes I had weren't bad. So if you have an iron stomach (I thought I did) and don't mind watching your soup stock being made in the kitchen sink, then by all means go for it. read more

I like Ezogiku because the food is good for the price. Likes: They're close by, and the curry is good. I also like the gyoza. Dislikes: Parking is bad during regular dinner hours. Service can be slow if they're busy too. Favorites: It's not on the menu, but I like to get chicken cutlet curry ramen. All in all, it's a typical ramen place, but with pretty good prices (most bowls don't go over $8). They also accept the Isle Discount card, which currently is 20% off the menu. read more

The food just gets better and better each time I eat here. I went back for the first time the other night after about 15 years. The flavor is still the same as I remembered back in high school. The gyoza is still the best. Perfectly steamed and crispy at the bottom. The ramen is so ono. I forgot how good the noodles were and the soup was awesomely delish! We sat at the "bar" so the kids could watch them do their magic. Service was ok but the food made up for everything! read more

Pretty good hole in the wall Japanese restaurant. Just came from runners hi in aiea buying some race gears and realized it was lunchtime. I was craving ramen so bad so I googled a spot that was close enough to us and of course with some great reviews we decided this was the one. Glad to have listened to the other yelpers otherwise I would have never found this place. When we first got in no one was inside except the workers of course. So we were kind of worried about it not being too good. We were too hungry to leave and fine somewhere else to eat. We gave it a chance and a good chance that was. Let me say that after a few minutes the restaurant got filled with a lot of customers. It is located in a shopping center with tons of different restaurants, supermarket, sports bar and karaoke bar. Parking wasn't too bad however it was a Saturday so I'm sure the place was busier than normal. The restaurant looked decent. You can see if u sit in the bar the chef making food so being that it's a hole in the wall u know how he is operating your food. Our server was very polite and refilled our drinks every time our cups were low. Food was fast. All in all it was good fast food ramen place. Oh and the gyoza was hot and fresh. read more
