I went to pickup my car, and was surprised by how dirty the lot was when I arrived. They don't have a large selection of cars, so if you're hoping for anything in particular this might not be the lot for you. They had three Hyundai sedans and two minivans on the lot when I was there. I was told over the phone that I have a three hour grace period for pickup/ drop off. I picked up late without issue. But of course, when I drop off the rules have changed and I was charged extra despite still being in the grave period. Make sure to take pictures of everything when you pickup the car. The guy outside who checks your vehicle upon arrival marked the gas incorrectly despite me having brought it back at the exact level I took it. Most rental car places leave you with a full tank so there's usually not much to debate, but this place sent me on my way with almost a half tank missing. So that's what I returned, and he tried to act like it was another thing I should be charged for, until I showed him the photos I took. Rental cars are usually clean when you pick them up, and for the most part mine was tolerable. But it was clear they didn't clean it, or even wipe it down with disinfectant. When I picked up the car, I made them smell the car with me since there were faint smells of smoke attached to the seats and I didn't want to be charged for it. Inside the office it says you can get 10% off if you check-in with Yelp, but they won't let you apply it unless you book directly through them on the spot. So the check-in coupon won't work for most people. Bottom line: if you can go somewhere else. Go to enterprise, or pickup from an airport where service generally will be more straightforward and everything will be cleaner. You shouldn't have to fill your tank right after picking up the car! read more

Worst Rental Shop Ever!!! Avoid at all costs ‍ The car they provided had donuts with no hub caps instead of normal tires, scratches all over, and out of state plates to-boot. I would've been pulled over for suspected stolen vehicle 3 times before my destination. While I argued for a new vehicle, another customer returned a car fresh off the lot with a flat tire. The manager - only available via phone - refused to offer me another car with hubcaps without upcharging me $40 despite the cars being the same physical size. Once I realized I wasn't going to receive a safe rental - I cancelled my reservation on the spot without ever renting or accepting the vehicle. Instead of refunding me, the shop charged me double instead of refunding my money in an apparent "error" in the system. Then, the manager said pending charges resolve in days, but instead, I now see the charges moved from pending to completed, so I had to dispute the transaction through my bank and wait for them to refund me. I felt bad for the two staff members present - the manager was only available through the phone, and couldn't even execute a simple refund correctly before I ever accepted the car. They then double-charged me when I asked for my money back, and at this rate I expect the "hold" placed on my rental will never be waived and will have to be handled through my bank as well. I don't know if they suspect they can get away with this service because they are next to housing projects or what, but this was the most unacceptable rental service I have ever experienced in my life. If you expect to compete with Enterprise Hertz Budget etc with a local business, you don't do it by holding an inventory of beat up cars, being penny-wise-pound-foolish when your customers demand safe vehicles, and fraudulently charging your potential customers if they dare refuse to accept the vehicle. I held up hope for a few days that they would at least make sure to resolve my refund demands as I never rented or stepped foot in their vehicles. Now that I see they couldn't even do that, it is important to me to prevent as many of my neighbors in Brooklyn as possible from renting from this disreputable establishment. It is not at all worth the potential convenience or discount - go to downtown BK or the airport and rent from a more highly-trafficked, name-brand rental service instead. read more

This place is a little weird and on an ugly looking block...but generally I had a good experience. I booked through ACE Rent a Car, which I guess they're affiliated with but when you pull up, there's just a tattered old ACE sign hanging on a barb wire fence. EZ-Rental's signage is more clear...but the whole place is on a pretty strange and sketchy-looking lot. The trailers that you walk into for the office aren't well-marked. The car I got was clean, though it did have some lingering cig smell (thanks, New York) and had a bit more damage than I'd expect to have on a rental (side rear view mirror cover busted, trim popping out of bumper, some big scratches, wheels def in need of alignment). That said, their costs are MUCH lower than anywhere else I looked. They also let me return the car a week early after my plans were cancelled and refunded the unused days without any fuss, which was much appreciated. read more

EZ Rental did not respect my reservation that they confirmed. They cancelled a few days before my scheduled trip leaving me in a bad spot to find another vehicle. Don't give them the opportunity to rip you off as well. When trying to handle with this situation I have had to deal with: - Being hung up on - Full voicemails so I can't leave a message - Rude customer service Every interaction with an employee of this company just left me more frustrated than the last. I created a yelp account specifically to warn people about this place. I'm also typing this review despite them offering me "15% off my next rental if I give a 5 Star review on yelp". So DON'T TRUST any 5 star reviews, EZ incentivizes these reviews. I do not recommend this place. Especially if you do not share their religious beliefs. One of the first questions they ask you over the phone is "Do you drive during Shabbat?" Your answer to this question decides which policy applies to you. If you say "No," congratulations, you are a VIP member. You get upgrades and don't have to pay for your rental on Fridays, Saturdays and all their religious holidays. Many other perks also. If you answer "Yes," then you are stuck paying for any of the rental days that they are closed and not accepting returns. They are almost always closed for religious holidays and Shabbat (Friday Afternoon and all of Saturday) so open your wallet. So, for non-VIP customers, if you pick up a rental on Friday morning or early afternoon, you will always have to pay for a two day rental, no ifs, ands, or buts. Then, if you return after 10am on Sunday (irregardless of what time you picked up on Friday), EZ rental will then charge you (the non-VIP customer) 3 rental days. Their cut-off is 10am on Sundays. I don't know why, this is just one of many ridiculous EZ policies. Aside from their discriminatory policies, they do not clean the cars at all. They round up the gas level when checking the car out, and then round down when you return the vehicle. You only get 100 free miles. They used to have the cheapest cargo van but they said they sold all the smaller cargo vans. Now they charge $200/day for their cargo van. read more

To be fair the staff at this location is very friendly and professional. Had no issues with the car or the booking process. There were nice and attentive even though the location looks a bit scrappy and you can notice how little the owners care. On the other hand customer service is the worst. Phone operators are disrespectful and rude. I've been calling for 3 weeks to figure it out the how much I am going to be charged for the tolls..other car rentals give you that information the day after you return the car. read more

My experience with this place was fine. Yeah, it was a little weirded out that the checkin was in a trailer. But the rental was cheap. The car was new and in good condition for the most part, aside from a few scratches. My only issue is that they gave me the car on empty, which is annoying because you don't know how much gas to put in it for your trip. This company gave us a filthy car that makes bizarre noises because THE BREAKS ARE SHOT. Yes, no functioning breaks, you've heard it right. At this point I've been talking to them on the phone and waiting for a callback for close to 24 hours with a car that is a DEATH TRAP. One full day of vacation lost and could've also lost my life. Waiting for them as I type this. In short, if you're sick of life and want to die in a smelly car - this is the service for you. Otherwise this place needs to be shut down. Another one star review. Christmas Eve, don't have the car I reserved despite confirming on the phone twice yesterday. Tried to squeeze me for a couple hundred extra bucks for a minivan despite giving the customer before me the same car for no upcharge. Not sure who knows what's going on here if anyone. Bottom line, they lied to me and tried to press me into paying more because I couldn't do anything about it. You're better off dealing with one of the larger companies. I had a great experience booking a rental car through the E-Z Rental Williamsburg location. Their day rate for a snappy little 2020 midsize car was very affordable (surprising for a Thanksgiving week rental!), and I also found the staff to be incredibly accommodating. When I had to make a last minute 24 hour extension request due to inclement weather, I incurred no additional fees and was met with complete understanding. I guess I'm just used to car rental agencies price gouging and piling on ridiculous fees, so I really appreciated this. Also, special shout out to Ramón for lending me a GPS system when I was unable to pair my iPhone to their car's dash display system because of a software issue I had. I rented a car from this place on July 22. The car was a black Nissan Sentra, this car had major scratches and white marks all around the car. I have pictures and video content. The deposit to rent was $500. I only had the car for one day so I returned the car on July 23 in the afternoon. These people refuse to give me my deposit back and are accusing me of putting scratches on the car that were already there. They showed me a video of the car before it left the lot in very low contrast where you can't see anything on the car. In the pictures that I have personally on my phone you can clearly see all the major scratches and white marks on the car. This seems like they are trying to charge me for damage that somebody else did with the rental previously, taking advantage of me because I am young. Instead of arguing with the guy in the office I told him I already called the cops to file a incident report and they are on the way. The police took such a long time to come. Once I realized I was waiting longer then a hour I left the office to walk in the front of the facility to see if I could spot any police nearby. As soon as I did that the Jewish employee left the office locked the doors, jumped into his car along with the other Hispanic employee ( the one that cleans the cars) and sped out the lot right pass me. Meanwhile I am still standing on the property waiting for the cops. Now 5 minutes has pass and as I'm still standing the front big gate ( entrance) just starts to close. I am very frustrated because I am not from this neighborhood so I was very confused as to why the guy left me there without saying anything to me. Still waiting hours for the NYPD so I called the fire department. They told about 15 minutes to get to my location. Once they arrived they had to break the whole gate to open it to let me out. The firefight couldn't believed what happen and that I was locked in there all alone. There was no way for me to escape. However I will be taking this situation into serious matter because this place was so unprofessional. I Adhere you not to rent any type vehicle from this location.
