I wish I had read the other reviews before contacting EZ Locksmith because my experience was very similar. Communication was terrible, and I felt like I was being gaslighted throughout the process. I confirmed an appointment with Roy for July 1, 2026, at 9:00 AM. He had my address and even reconfirmed the appointment by text the day before. During our initial phone call, Roy quoted me $180 for a replacement key. While on that call, he asked me to send a photo of my existing key fob so he knew exactly what I needed. Then, when I confirmed the appointment the day before, he suddenly changed the price to $250, claiming the $180 price was for a key without a remote. We never discussed a non-remote key, and he had already seen a photo of my key fob. I considered canceling at that point, but I didn't want to start over with another locksmith. The next morning, I waited for my 9:00 AM appointment. I texted him and received no response. My messages showed as SMS (green bubbles), so I wondered if his phone was off. At 9:27 AM, I called, and it went straight to voicemail. He never showed up and never contacted me. Around 11:20 AM, Roy started calling me and claimed he had been trying to text me at 9:00 AM. That simply wasn't true. His phone appeared to have been off all morning, and regardless, he already had my address. If he intended to keep the appointment, he could have simply shown up. No call, no text, no courtesy, and then an attempt to shift the blame. That's not how a professional business should operate. Save yourself the frustration and find a locksmith who communicates honestly and respects your time. read more

Avoid this company. My mother accidentally locked herself out of her home after misplacing both her house key and her vehicle key fob. Her car was unlocked, so she waited there with her dog while waiting for EZ Key Locksmith. The first appointment was well over an hour late, and it took multiple calls just to get updates on when the technicians would arrive. When they finally arrived, they unlocked the house so she could get back inside. They then charged her $500 upfront, broken down on the invoice as: * $50 service call * $50 labor * $200 replacement key * $200 replacement key fob They told us they needed to return to their shop to make and program the replacement key and fob and promised to return by 11:00 p.m. They never came back. After repeated calls, we were told they would arrive by 1:30 a.m. At 12:41 a.m., we received a text saying the technician had a flat tire and would instead arrive by 4:00 a.m. After that, communication stopped. I made numerous calls and sent multiple text messages trying to find out what was happening. When I finally advised them that I would be leaving an honest review if they failed to return, I received a phone call. The caller told me he was "pissed off," said they would not complete the replacement key and key fob service, promised that my mother's $500 would be refunded, and told me not to contact his phone again. As of today, no refund has been issued, and the replacement key and key fob were never provided. We had to hire another locksmith to complete the work. While they did unlock the house, they accepted payment for a replacement key and key fob that they never delivered, promised a refund that never arrived, and then stopped communicating. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. read more

I used this locksmith once in the past, and after a problem with their tech the owner stepped up. I recently scheduled an appointment to program a new key fob for our Grand Cherokee Summit. The first appointment was for 1pm that got pushed out to 5:30 after waiting around I called and the owner said that he would meet me at 10am the next day, At 10am he was a no show, had to call 3 times and it was one excuse after another, finally around 1:30 a locksmith shows up but not the one that was to meet me. They had farmed it out to another company without any kind of notice to us. After programming the new fob is when I was told that it's an aftermarket even though I requested an OEM. Anyway the fob would not start our jeep, the tech was running late for another appointment so instead of trying to determine what was causing the no start problem he offered a discount on the fob and left. I sent a text to ez lock and told the owner that someone need to come back and figure out the problem this little jackass started yelling at me saying fob was programmed right. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They don't show up on time and lie about it. Stay away, unless of course you don't mind being treated this way. EZ Key, You Suck read more

Bad communication on their end, my boyfriend was mislead about what was included with the initial service he ordered. The total cost ended up more than what he was lead to believe. This business needs to be more clear about any extra costs that can add up to a customer's order. read more

Warning: Avoid this fraudulent business. Mo came to my home and took payment for two key fobs, promising to return the next day with the product. He never came back, ignored all follow-up messages, and eventually stopped responding entirely. After looking into reviews, I discovered I'm not the only person he has scammed. This is a pattern of fraudulent behavior. Do not trust this individual or business with your money. read more

After trying a couple of other locksmiths, who said they could not cut this car key for me, I called EZ and it was no problem. Well, the first cut didn't quite work, as they were a couple of different codes to use for the cutting with kibble difference between them, but the second time worked. He didn't just replace the blank but the whole blade that fit my key fob perfectly. Great job, very good customer service, and for a very reasonable price. Compared to what the dealership was asking, this was well worth the brief additional wait. Highly recommend. read more

The locksmith was quick and efficient, smooth transaction when we were in a hurry out the door and locked the keys in the house. Recommend!

I met with Mo at his shop and gave him 3 keys to make copies of. After I texted him my address, he told me he would have the keys ready and deliver them to my home the next day. He gave me a price of $102 total. After waiting the morning and afternoon of the next day, I called him and asked him what time he was coming. He replied that he was on his way. An hour later he did not show and again I called and he said he would stop by when he is in the area later at night. He never showed that day and for the next two weeks I called him daily with him giving me excuses each call for not standing me up continuously. There were times he told me he would send one of his technicians to drop off the keys. I was told to meet him at his shop twice and he never showed up and I was on time. After the first week I told him I just wanted my keys back and he told me he would not charge me and still give me the copies of the keys he said he made. After the next week I finally met with him and got my original keys back. He said the copies he left in his other vehicle that is at a shop and he would get the vehicle back in two days then he would call me to give them to me. He never called me since our last meeting and it has been a month. Even though he didn't charge me this was the most horrible experience I have been through with a company. After this situation, dealing with the DMV and IRS is a walk in the parking. Mo was amazing!! We were locked out of our house and another company wasn't able to open our front door, so we called EZ Locksmith! I texted a picture of our lock to Mo and he immediately responded that he could open it without drilling. He was at our house in 21 minutes (the exact eta he gave us on the phone), and he opened our lock within 2 minutes of arriving. Such a nice guy and very professional! He chatted it up with my husband for a minute and we really can't stop talking about how nice he is! Great business! read more

I came into Yelp to read the reviews about EZ Key Locksmith and seen it has 5 stars. I was like I should used them after seeing tons of good and outstanding reviews. Sadly, yesterday wasn't the case. He did not fixed the problem properly and took the money. Felt like I got took advantage of the guy took the money but left me stranded. If I could gave it 0 stars, I would in a heartbeat. I gave him a call after he left, he said he was coming back out to fix it. He never show back up. I try to called him 4 times, but is not answering. I was in a bit of a pickle. I had come out to Sacramento to see my very good friend Devon, and ended up locking myself out in front of her house. The locking mechanism had broken on my car and I had no idea how to handle it. I found this place on Yelp (thanks guys and gals) and called immediately. He gave me a decent time to come and fix it. He was there right on time. He had a white van and had everything needed in the back to fabricate a key. He just needed some information and made a key. He gave me a price and I went with it. We small talked some about how long he has been in the business, which is over 10 years! He was very friendly and hasty throughout and made me a key! Plus, he made me a spare at no charge. Overall; I was in a stressful situation, and Mo got me out of it at a fair price. Highly recommend if you ever need a key or a locksmith! Thank you for your service Mo! read more

EZ Key Locksmith - Great locksmith! - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

Please buy your own locked car door kit from Amazon for 40 bucks and leave it at home. I tend to keep my keys in my hand because I don't carry purses and I left them in the trunk with my groceries. I am out of work because of this pandemic and have a little cash that is supposed to last for 2 months. But he didn't give me a break. To unlock a car shouldn't be that much. If you are in my area and I'm available please contact me and let's stop businesses that is clearly getting over on people. I have 3 kids and I could have fed them for another week or two with that. He said he was 20 minutes away but got here 40 minutes later. It's cheaper to have your family bring your kit to you than calling this locksmith, they charge 50 just to come out plus 150 for the service. But he initially quoted me 250. All he did was pump air on my door and push the slim Jim to unlock my car. My trunk works fine so I just unlocked the trunk to grab my keys. Another tip: leave your spare car key in your wallet. Wish I had thought about this already! I attached a picture of how much a simple lockout should cost. No rekeying needed!! $30 to $60!! read more

Awesome service! I reached out to see if they did residential re-keying/changing of locks, and he was able to meet my client at her brand new home the following morning. Called on June 15 at 11pm for a lock change. Locksmith quotes me at 105 and says he will be here in 15 min. 2 hours later shows up and tells me it will be 140 because it's a smart lock. After he is finished he tells me it's actually 185 because he had to replace both locks. Gives me one key and leaves. Now i am locked out of my house because THE KEYS DONT WORK ON THE DOOR. Text him and no response. I call and he says he can't fix it and refuses to give my money back. How are you not going to fix a lock that you changed that does not work?? My son and i were locked out of my house and had to hop the fence and go through a window! He was rude and unprofessional and obviously does not know what he's doing. read more

So I'm a bit of a mess when it comes to having a bad day. Unfortunately, to top that day, I locked myself out of my Jeep. Enter Mo, the lifesaver. Fortunately for me, Mo was in Davis during my time of need. So didn't know this, but Yelp has this thing where it sends out a sort of "S.O.S" on my behalf. Mo answered it and let me tell you, that was surprisingly quick since I was all the way in Vacaville. He gave me a great estimate and service was quick. He followed COVID guidelines and pay was quick and hassle free. Mostly because it was contactless and very simple (Venmo and Cashapp IS taken). Mo greeted me at my location and had me up and going in no time. Thanks, Mo! read more

I originally contacted Mo at EZ Key Locksmith July 27th. Mo is a very unprofessional locksmith who took my money and ran. I would recommend looking for a certified locksmith before going to Mo. *Update the new immobilzer unit that I installed was not aftermarket, it was OEM. You only offered to return my money after I left a publuc yelp review. I had informed Mo my immobilizer unit on my 2005 Honda Civic was damaged, the entire ignition cylinder was replaced and I needed the keys reflashed. Mo was unable to reflash the keys when he arrived and said the replaced immobilizer unit would not work with the machine he brought to make the keys. Mo charged me $ 60 and told me he would return the next day with a different machine that could solve my issue. The next day passed and Mo never showed up. The next day I contacted him seeing what happened and he gave me an excuse that his truck was drilled into and he had to deal with police. He told me he would be there the next night around 8pm. The next day Mo never came. He kept giving me excuses on why he couldnt make it to my house instead of telling me he could not help me. I found the certified locksmiths over at Keyworx who were able to fix my key problem in less than 15 mins. read more

If I could leave O stars, I would. Called about 11:50pm and someone said they would be out in 20-40 minutes. An hour and ten minutes later, I called to check in and see where the technician was. Monday July 15th, 2019. We placed the call to EZ Key Locksmith approx. 10 am , after my kid lost his key of his car at my client 3500 sq ft property. One hour went by not show, another 40 minutes, not show. Every time we called them, same excuse "we are on the way". FOUR hours later: not show. Very unprofessional and deceiving company, not even an apology. At 2 pm we called iLocksmith co. They got there in 25 mins., 20 mins. to do the job and cut a new key. We were done and gone by 2:45 pm. Good luck calling EZ Key Locksmith phone (916) 832-8550 owner Mohanna Mahfouz. read more

Price was higher than other competitors however he said he would be there in 17 min. Waited 35 mins and had to wait another 20 min to pay them since I guess only dispatcher could take credit card. The job was done however 3 star since the promise arrival time was inaccurate and I could have used another locksmith that informed me 40 mins for half the price Update: the manager reached out and apologized for the delay. Told me it due to unforeseen circumstances, and technical issues. wanted to offer a credit for the issues. I change my view on the company as the manager seem to really care read more

Thankful they were able to help me in a sticky situation but I would never call them again if my keys were locked in the car. Super unprofessional and charged me $200. Although the initial service was fantastic I still have a door that they refused to return to repair. In all fairness I believe the company was scared off when my ex tried to subpoena them to court to account for their charges. This was a very expensive lesson for me. I am truly sorry but I no longer can recommend this company. read more

Communication is excellent. Within minutes of requesting a quote through yelp, the manager gave me a phone call. He said he could come and do it immediately, but I wasn't home so I scheduled an appointment with him for Monday lunch. He came right at the scheduled time. Honestly, for the life of me I cannot figure out how this business has even one good review. The owner, and person who fields all the calls, is rude, unprofessional and blames the customer. What kind of customer service is that? I asked a few different locksmiths on Yelp for quotes switching out a deadbolt. I wanted it done but wasn't in an emergency hurry. They got back to me pretty quickly, had reasonable rates, and said they'd come last night. I was pleasantly surprised, but hey, I'll take it! Thought it would be nice to get it out of the way. As we're sitting waiting for a tech to arrive, time starts to creep along and it's been an hour since they said they were coming. At nearly two hours (and this is getting close to bed time) I text the number that called me. He said "we don't have anything scheduled with you".... I literally got the call from you that's how I texted the number. When questioned, he said the tech called and scheduled something with me for the next day. So the story has changed. After an exchange back and forth where he essentially blames me, he says he'll be there personally at 10am the following day. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt I accept and wait for them today to show up at 10am. 11am today. No show. I text again. The owner says "the tech is almost there". 30 minutes later, I text again, "they called you at 10:05, why don't you answer your phone?" EXCUSE ME? No one called me.... and the audacity to blame me, yet again. Several more texts from the owner are all accusatory, rude and extremely unprofessional. We called another locksmith and they were here within 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this horrible place to my worst enemy. read more

Seems like I'm not alone on this. Others on here are saying the same thing. He quotes one price over the phone and when he comes and quotes another.
