(15 year ABO optician) I've bought glasses from them three times now. Over that time the lab has deteriorated considerably and the opticians and techs are so rushed they make lots of mistakes. Started out with a complete eye exam. The doctor was thorough and informative. He recommended new glasses which was not a surprise. I had a chance to look at the variety of frames and found one to suit me. The sales lady was very professional and good at her job. I needed bifocals and ordered two pairs. I could have picked up my new glasses in an hour but that would have put me on Battlefield at rush hour so I opted to pick them up the next morning. BTW the frames I chose were very reasonably priced. I will definitely go back when I need new glasses. read more

The service was great. You could tell they were busy, but they were super friendly and professional. The check in is not great however; I think a tablet can help ease the process. Also when you choose the frames you want, there is no place to set them aside or keep them ( a little without tray would do) calling a staff member, who is already busy with other clients. It makes everything a little bit awkward. Beside this Jessica was awesome, friendly, patient and super helpful. Both my orders were ready within 50 minutes. Prices were affordable. Amy at the desk has a great memory of customers and knew a week after being examined and fitted with contact lens' what I stopped into the store to order. And they were in in less than a week. Yesterday I visited store #12 (Springfield, MO.) It was very crowded and there was a considerable wait. Many customers were being less than patient, but the employees were working as hard as anyone could. We were helped by Corey, who despite dealing with many rude customers, was nothing but friendly and courteous. I came in with a coupon. That coupon was why I chose your store. However, I misread the coupon. It was actually from one of your competitors. However, Corey honored the coupon!!! Long story short, I was blown away by the service from Corey. We misread the coupon and that brought us to EyeMart, but Corey's customer service will bring me back. By the way, I also had an eye exam. I had made an appointment and then arrived an hour early. They got me right in. The staff was courteous and professional. I don't think it gets better than this when getting glasses! read more

Paid over $400 out of pocket for glasses. Specifically asked before I ordered and was told 7 to 10 days. It has been three weeks today and still no glasses. Because I am upset they offered to make me a pair of their cheap $30 glasses. Seriously? I paid $400 for my glasses and I expect to get my $400 pair of glasses. Completely unacceptable and will NEVER go back there. After calling twice and being given the runaround I was finally told they got sent back because they weren't right and when I complained I was told, "You want them to be right, don't you?" Apparently too much to expect to get them in a timely manner AND for them to be right. I have little faith that when they finally do get here that they will be right. Walmart is better than this and cheaper. JUST DON'T!! Interestingly I noted that none of the negative reviews were "recommended" so most people will only see the two good ones. I have been to Eyemart Express for the last two years to get my glasses. I'm very happy with the service I receive when I get in the door. The doctor was fantastic and was very precise and even though it was a long wait to order my glasses it gave me more than enough time to find the ones I wanted. This helped because it meant the girl who helped me and I could sit right down at a table and do the paperwork. That means when I sat down it took less than ten minutes to get to the computer to pay. They told me it would be two hours to have them ready because the tinting or something that I got on them. I was surprised when I got a text 30 minutes early saying they were done. I have recommended them to my family already and one of my sisters will be in to get hers updated soon. Not only are their deals great but they have coupons online! I couldn't be happier with the help I got there and will continue to return in the future. read more

I was not impressed with this place - I liked Dr. Kickham he was very thorough and patient. I called EyeMart and ask them if they took EyeMed (United Healthcare) insurance, they said yes we accept most kinds of insurance, Come on in! I went in and they told me that they did not file that kind of insurance that I would have to file it myself. I went in with a pair of broken glasses and asked if they had any frames that they could use with the lenses out of my old glasses, the lady said NO rather abruptly. SO I got their HD process glasses came to a little over $400 with progressive lenses. SO I went back in about 10 days later to pick up my glasses and the right lens was not right - very blurry. They tried to argue with me and say my eyes had just not gotten used to them yet, but I knew it was more than that, and would not accept the glasses. They got the manager involved. After that they took my glasses back to their lab and got to checking them and the axis was not right on them. It was off a by a lot. The manager then took a look at my old glasses and immediately told the other lady (who told me they had no frames that my old lenses would fit) which frames would fit my old lenses and she was right SO I left with my old glasses in new frames (no charge). This is what I wanted in the first place but the lady was to busy trying to sell me new glasses to be bothered with trying to find a pair of frames for my old glasses - They sent the new ones back and had their lens folks redo the right lense. I waited another week for my new glasses -They were right this time. But still all in all a bad experience - Would not file my insurance - Would not try to find a frame for my old lenses - Argued with me that the glasses were right without checking them to see. Finely rescued by a manager that obviously new a lot more about the frames and lenses than her sales staff did! read more

Would someone please explain to me the thinking behind Eyemart Express in Springfield and the following scenario. You set behind a computer 4-5 hours a day and you don't want to bend your neck back by using a lined bifocal, so you buy a second set of glasses that are all bifocal. If you set at a computer with your lined glasses on, neck craned back, you can see the computer screen just fine, except your neck hurts. Then setting at same distance from computer, you put on your all bifocal glasses and you can't see near as well ,everything is fuzzy but your neck quit hurting. What is the difference in bifocals in lined glasses and the all bifocal lens, being as they are both the same bifocal prescription. Shouldn't they allow me to see the screen the same? The personnel claims you need a special prescription for computer work, yet the prescription is the same! I ask them to check the lens to see if they were ground correctly, according to the Dr.'s prescription. No, she wouldn't. I have been buying bifocal lens for years, so why now do they claim to need a special prescription for computer lens? So now, I must seek out another Dr., spend money on new exam and probably new glasses because Eyemart Express have inexperienced people. Needless to say, I won't go back, nor will anyone who asks me what eye wear business I use. read more

I went in to the store with a $39 coupon only to find out that it was for Eyemart...not Eyemart Express. Imagine that...anyway, I asked the price of the eye exam...$54.95. Then I asked how long the wait was and she replied we can get you right in as soon as you fill out the paperwork! Impressive! and she was right. Now is where it goes downhill. The first thing while back in the exam room she asked if I wanted the $30 glaucoma and something else checked. Really? Shouldn't that be standard? OK, no, I'll skip that for now... Don't get me wrong, loved Dr. Kickham. He seemed very knowledgeable and I liked his "bedside" manner. He was very informative and ended up recommending I get contacts. OK, I thought. I'll try. So I walked out with contacts in my eyes and went to pay. I am supposed to go back in a week to make sure that I'm adjusting to them. Imagine my surprise when she tells me that will be $124.95. WHAT? Well, I guess there are two rates. Eye exams for glasses and eye exams for contacts. I just wanted to get my eyes examined. Who would have guessed it. The girl assisting me was so friendly until I questioned her about the price. She got very defensive and was done with me. Thank goodness for Anne, in the glasses department. I still wanted to check pricing on a pair of glasses for backup. She found me a pr of frames and lined bifocals for under $100, and was very kind. She offered to hold the frames for me until I come back the next week. Anne saved the day and made my negative experience bearable! (Still ticked though-saw an add for FREE EXAM and 2 pair of lined bifocals for $99.00) Wonder what the catch is for this one? read more

My husband called the store today before I drove 45 minutes to make sure the store was open and the doctor was in...it was about 2:45 when he called...they said sure, come on in we're here till 5...we get there right about 4,only to find the doctor left at 3!!!! Nobody said hello when we got there, they didn't acknowledge us at all. When I asked the lady why we were told to come on in when the doctor was gone... without looking up she got rude and said they don't have anything to do with the doctor or their schedule.... so off to Eyeglass World we went....their exams are 20 dollars less, 2 pair of single vision for 80 dollars!!! Best of all, the people were wonderful... .I am a mother of four, three that wear glasses and my husband and I wear glasses, since it's those of us that wear glasses that keep you in business, you should make sure your employees understand that losing one customer may not seem so bad, but in chasing me and my daughter out the door you lost 5 customers, at your prices that's a lot of money, and you can count on the fact that I will tell my friends about you and then I will tell them about Eyeglass World a block up the road.
