I have gone to Eyeglass world for a few years now to get glasses for my son and I. The employees had wonderful customer service, but recently it has faded. When I went to get my eye exam, the receptionist seemed very unorganized but the doctor was fine. The individual that was helping to put my order in had no personality and showed a side of laziness when we asked about a certain frame if the business had it in stock. I walked in to get my glasses yesterday and I was not welcomed by anyone and waited 10minutes. I recieved one of two pairs of my glasses and the gentleman put my glasses in a foam package and he said they were out of eyeglass cases. I was very disappointed especially after spending so much money and being a repetitive customer. This was my last straw. read more

We just tried again, after 3 years. We worked with pleasant but untrained employees that have to go ask others how to do things, or go get someone else to check their work. To be fair, this is a really nice shop and they do have lots of nice frames, and there are several pricing tiers for those who want to save a buck. Where it all goes sideways is the confusing mishmash of BOGO deals designed to buffalo the unsuspecting customer, including multiple lens "enhancements", and a myriad of exceptions if you are using insurance. Employee was only cooperative when it came to upgrades/additions, and flat out refused to give me an idea on what my "out of pocket" was going to be without starting the actual purchase process. I had an appointment at the end of October to get glasses and contacts. I had no problem in the store, besides the doctor giving the exam was pushing Eye Glass Worlds contacts that I did NOT want. I got my glasses completely fine but only received my contacts today April 1st because they took 3 extra weeks to ship originally when I told them I was moving in a month, they assured me it was fine and I would get them before I moved. I didn't get them, and when I asked them to ship it to my new address they didn't label it correctly so they were never shipped, had to call multiple times to get this all done. When I got the contacts they are the cheap Eyeglass World brand ones that I explicitly told the doctor I did not want and were nearly the same price as my normal acuvue contacts I use. I got an eye exam and glasses. When picking up the glasses I explained that things seemed blurry and I couldn't focus well and the Bi-Focal portion of my glasses were way off and have to get about 8 inches from anything to be able to read what I'm looking at., I was told to give it a couple weeks for my eyes to adjust?? If the scrip was correct on the glasses, I should have been able to see better with the new glasses on first try. I have never been told that my eyes needed to adjust before. It's now been a week and I'm back to wearing my old glasses as at a bout 2-4 feet everything is blurry and can't focus. I wasted almost $300 at this store and can't use anything I got. I purchased two pair of glasses, and with my insurance the cost well over $500. I received a text that the glasses were in, so I went to pick them up. I stood at the "pick-up" desk for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me, and several people walked by. Then a young lady did get my glasses but there was only 1 pair in, they did not give me a glass case, and no cleaning towel, just the glasses. They are progressive lenses and I can see well with them, except I cannot use them at work to see my computer without tilting my head way back. Needless to say, I was not happy with the service and now I will have to go back to get them fixed. read more

The optometrist and his staff were very kind and efficient, and the associate who rang me up was fine. The pricing can be a bit confusing, and there is a bit of shaming for not choosing the upgrades, but I expect this. What I didn't expect was to not be able to use the (very pricey) glasses for much. When I went back, the assistant manager was very unfriendly and condescending, and told me two contradictory messages: that I hadn't given myself enough time to adjust to a new prescription (which it wasn't), and that I should have known that I couldn't see through them well when I picked them up. Neither of those statements were true or helpful, and the associate who had previously helped me finally explained why my prescription required progressive lenses in order to give me good vision (had not explained it before purchase). The AGM made shaming comments as they proceeded to charge me even more for a pair of glasses that I have yet to pick up. Even if I am happy with them after all the expensive upgrades, I see no reason to spend $900 in order to have a satisfactory product, but a terrible customer service experience. I contacted both the store manager and the corporate office about my experience prior to posting this review, but no one contacted me. In my experience, Stanton Optical across the street has much better pricing for a quality product. I would stay away from Eyeglass World unless your vision needs are simple. Edit: The store manager contacted me, and is doing all she can to help me be satisfied with my purchase. They will remake my lenses and are giving me a price break to make up for my negative experience. read more

I went to eyeglass world as my 2 nose piece cushions fell out, after going to 2 other eyeglass places that said they could not help me. They were very positive there and said sure we can fix you up. My experience was second to none! when I entered the facility, I was greeted at the door with a smile and a friendly hello. The service was excellent and they found me exactly what I wanted! This place has honestly been one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Both my wife and I got contacts from them and every interaction has been a nightmare. They constantly lose our prescription, lose our trials, and every time we talk to them about their policies it was a different story. Even the manager was rude and unhelpful. Also, they are incredibly slow. Each time we walked in the store it was a huge production. I will never order from this place again. And we re still getting a bill from them for $15. No one can explain why we are, not even anyone at the corporate office. read more

Now that I have time to write this I will say to you all, this place have a amazing staff! for three years ive not been fitted for my glasses correctly finally sarah takes my glasses and spends time getting them where they fit my head correctly. while I am waiting I speak to a few people on the staff, brady and more, all I can say is this company should know how polite and attentive their staff is. I hope eyeglass world knows they have a team who is top notch. I expected to be unhappy since it was my first time here and ive only been wearing glasses now 3 years, and ive been through hell in 3 years!, finally even though I drive a 1 1/2 hrs to get here, it is so worth it. ill never go anyplace else! I was tired of being burnt by Optical Retail Stores with their variations on the "2 pair for only 69.99 and FREE Eye Exam!!" which meant shoddy customer service, indifferent & questionably trained personnel, poor quality frames & over-priced lenses. THEN, I TRIED EYEGLASS WORLD!! From the moment I walked in the door, to the moment I walked out of the door I was treated like a celebrity! From the front desk to the store manager, all personnel came out to help me choose frames or suggest new styles. They asked questions, looked at ME and found frames that suited my quirky personality, obsessive career in Vintage and were a great price! Ive never had such great service and follow up calls, adjustments, you name it, they do it for you!! read more

Made an appointment for an eye exam, got there 15 minutes early for paperwork, and waited 25 minutes past my time while someone who had made an appointment at a different chain entirely and showed up at this site was "worked in" at my appointed time, without the courtesy of being asked to cede my slot. I had picked out frames when I came in to make the appointment two days before, and still had to wait another 20 minutes while the techs were basically milling about, three not even with other customers. Don't know yet how the exam/glasses will be, but the time management here is not good. read more

My husband and I both went in for eye exams and new glasses today. We had the best experience we have ever had purchasing glasses! We were immediately greeted and taken care of by very friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. Their selection of frames is ample without being over whelming. The entire staff seemed to work well together. They all seemed to genuinely like working together and had a very positive energy that made both my husband and myself feel welcomed, well cared for and valued. Great upfront service and exam, until they took my money. Unfortunately, the pick up service was lacking. Was sold a bogus mirror coating for my sunglasses. Sales person was very nice, however, not so truthful. Would not have wasted the ton of money on the pair of prescription sunglasses had they been truthful about what they could actually do. Service improved! I too had a problem, so I called the EW customer service 800 number. They called the store and spoke with the new assistant manager, Kayla. The cs agent told me Kayla wanted to take care of the problem and I should visit her at the store. Kayla was very nice and took care of the problem as if it were her own. I am very happy with the service I am now receiving. After that, I had issues with my first contact trials (torics) and they invited me back to see the Dr. without charge. He gave me a special solution to help with the problem. It did help, but it didn't solve both issues. The other was, the contacts didn't fit quite right. They invited me back for another exam and gave me another brand of trials. Unfortunately, there was a defect in the lenses. So, I visited them again. This time they ordered me a new pair of the lenses that were defective and two other brands. Out of three different brands, if none of them work, I'll just give up on contacts. Despite all the trouble I've caused, they have been very nice and helpful. Most people would have become frustrated with me by now. That shows how being patient and polite gets you farther in the world. Out of the several times I've been there, I have only heard two people complain. But, in EW's defense; if you walk into any business and all of the employees are busy, waiting your turn is expected. Don't get mad at the employees for not hurrying customers out the door. You will get the same attention and service when it is your turn. And if you need an exam, make an appointment. You can't expect to walk in and see a Dr. waiting for you like that's the reason he was put on this earth. read more

I have purchased glasses from Eyeglass World for my Mother, myself, and my husband. After spending over one thousand dollars on a 2 for 99 dollar pair of glasses...neither myself or my husband can see through either pair of the glasses we purchased. We returned to Eyeglass World to get our problems fixed and they blamed my husband for his poor choice of where to wear his glasses on his nose, as being the reason his bifocals were so high in his glasses, that he could not see. On my glasses, of which I also could not see out of, they twisted and turned them and placed them back on my face and said that I did not tell them how I wanted them adjusted. Everything was our fault...From the inaccurate glasses prescription,to the placement of bifocals, we were the ones that should have told them or worn the glasses differently. I have been wearing glasses from the time I was 10 and I have always depended on the establishment where I am purchasing my eye wear to be the expert. I did not know that I had to be educated on eye care to purchase glasses from Eyeglass world. After much discussion with the manager and insistence on my part, they are remaking my husband's glasses, yet I am stuck with two pair of glasses that hurt my eyes and I cannot see through them. Also, I have little hope that the replacement glasses for my husband will be any better than the first two pairs that we originally received. I would not recommend Eyeglass World unless you have a degree in eye care...because they will blame ANY problem you have with your glasses on YOU and not take responsibility for their mistakes. Also, their eye doctor would rather discuss his Subaru with you rather than doing an efficient and effective eye exam. This is one of the worst experiences that I have ever had when purchasing eye glasses or getting my eyes examined. read more

Wish there was a way to make this negative stars. I went here for a contact eye exam in July. The doctor, who is independent of the store, was unfriendly and seemed distracted. When I told him what type of contacts I typically wear, he switched me to a different brand which was like another brand I'd tried and hated, but he swore I'd like these. I hated them. When I went to purchase another couple of boxes of the right kind, the store manager went to get my prescription, then insisted I hadn't had a follow-up after my eye exam. Since I've never had a follow-up at any of the other stores I went to, I completely failed to see what I'd need one now. She would not sell me a box of contacts, insisting that I needed a follow-up. When she finally retrieved my file, come to find out the doctor had okayed me to buy the lenses. I'm thinking instead of pushing customers to part of an exam they don't need, read the file first. I got so feed up with Lens crafters I just said Eyeglass world cant be any worse and they are cheaper. Wow what a experience words just cant explain how great Tim and DR. Capehart was and is. You see I really needed to pass my vision test. The Doctor seen I was a person and took his time with me to make sure I had the right script he is a patient Doctor. Now lets get to Tim he is so wonderful and made picking out glasses fun and he has good taste when it comes to having a pair fit and look good at the same time. His recommendation on things like glare and scratch guard made since. Tim don't get in no hurry about picking out the glasses he wants you to be happy and leave with a smile and I did. I went back to pick up one of my glasses that they finished and had the delight going in and Tim was there with a smile that was nice to see. I had the opportunity to meet with Stephan and he made sure I was able to see before I left and he is funny. I had such a good experience I would and have recommended them to my friends. Well the bottom line is I went back to take my vision test for my job and past with flying colors. I read below the green line on the eye test and they had fun just to see how low I could go and I went to the second from the bottom. The first two times I tried I could only read the second from the very top. Now that is just how good the people are at Eye world and no my glasses don't look like magnifying or very thick glass in the frames. I love the people there. read more
