But unfortunately, when you buy a brand new pair of glasses, they take the new pair and put it on the shelf and give you whatever shits hanging on the wall, whether it's a year-old or five years old you don't get the new pair apparently. Everything is extremely expensive today and you should never get the used pair of glasses when you buy a new pair. They were doing the same thing when I walked in when I bought $1000 pair of glasses, the last pair The young man that was working with me was great and did a great job, but then when the lady was adjusting my glasses, she also lied to me to my face. That giving it a one. I don't like being lied to, and it took the fun out of buying new glasses and finally being able to see well because of stupidity and greed. It's exciting to get a new pair of glasses when you've had very poor eyesight for a while. That excitement was quickly robbed. And this is definitely the owner's fault not the employee's fault. It is his policy to do this. The young lady said it's like buying tennis shoes. You don't get the new pair you get whatever's on the wall. I told her these aren't tennis shoes. Piss poor policy, the young man was awesome. He did a great job but now I have to another trip in to get them adjusted because she also adjusted them so tight on my ear that my bad by the time I got I had to put my old glasses on. economy where you need every customer this is a very bad policy. read more

Pearle Vision not only provides service at a snail's pace, but the lack of professionalism is absolutely astonishing. I will NEVER go to them again. It's been 3 weeks 1 day since my appointment AND I STILL DON'T HAVE MY GLASSES. This is after my appointment took 4 hours and 2 eye exams by the same optometrist because he forgot to write down my bifocal prescription. The receptionist tech gasted my flabbers. She was rude and unprofessional, sharing way too much personal information. It was the first time we had been out with our grandson. We arrived 4 minites late. It took another 4 minutes to get into the building and up to the second floor. As soon as we walk in, she tells me the doctor is running late. And then proceeds to tell me, "next time you're 8 minutes late, we will cancel your appointment." Trust me, there won't be a next time. I should've known right then this place sucks. While she's doing my preliminary eye tests, she's talking to me about the show Yellow Jackets and witchcraft. As we are sitting, waiting for the optometrist (which took more than another hour), she begins talking about pregnancy loss and cremating babies. Offers up the name of the crematorium "in case you need it in the future." Then she starts talking about her daughter's breasts. I finally get in to the optometrist's exam room. While I'm in there, this woman starts talking to James about doing drugs and the areas of Springfield that are drug heavy. Another tech was slurring her speech. I finally get through my appointment and go downstairs to choose frames. There was a male staff member acting very odd, kind of ducking into corners and acting strange. I was intentionally steered to the more expensive selection and was told when I wanted to look at the sale frames, "you don't want any of those. They're our $100 frames and your insurance covers up to $300." I choose my frames and was told it would be about 2 weeks until my frames are in. I've been calling every other day for over a week and keep being told "tomorrow" or "day after tomorrow". read more

At the beginning of this whole Covid-19 our 10 year old daughter broke her glasses that we got from Pearl Vision last year. We ordered a kit (because Covid) but still could not fix them. Today we took the chance and drove over to the Pearle Vision store on Battlefield. They appeared to be closed but we called the number on the door anyway & while we were calling a Red Truck pulled up and man named Chris told us they will be opening up on Monday by appointment only. He asked us what we needed and we showed him our daughters broken glasses. He took them and said give him a second. He brought them out and they were fixed. He was so nice! When we left my husband said I'm coming here to get my glasses. That was great costumer service. We were so blessed by this mans kindness. Our daughter can see again and stop having headaches. His name was Chris and he may never know just how much he blessed us. He definitely went out of his way and we appreciate him very much. I definitely do not recommend this company for getting an eye exam or glasses. The lady who performed my exam did not look professional at all with her pink tee shirt and sweatpants. When I received my glasses the first time, the lenses were really blurry and they were tented weird. I was told that every lens that was ever made has never been clear and have always been tented. So okay I'll will just have to look through the glasses as if I was in a cloud of smoke or a really hazy kind of day. So they redone the lenses and I picked them up recently, I was hoping that the blurriness was gone and that I could actually see through them.....well to be honest, I can't really see any better. The prescription seems to not be aligned properly in each lens because if I were to just use only one side of my glasses and make it where I can see out of it, I would need to tape them to my head in order to wear them and see only with the one eye. so I'm guessing that since the warranty was only good for 30 days from the time they were ordered, that I wasted almost $200 after insurance for glasses that are no good to use. read more

I've been going here since '04 or longer. Great location and friendly assistance. I did have a bad experience recently. I went in for contacts for the first time. The doctor seemed to be....off. I went home; and couldn't read the road signs. Oddly enough it was easier to see with the contacts in with my glasses on as well. They didn't charge me again. When I called they took me that day and had a different doctor this time. If it wasn't for the last part I wouldn't have came back. read more

I hate going to the eye doctor. I've hated it since I was in 3rd grade, and I put it off as long as possible. Honestly, I ended up at Pearle Vision because of a Groupon and did not have high hopes. The downstairs staff is much different than the upstairs staff, but I was really pleased with the eye doctor. He was great and didn't make me feel self conscious about how blind I really am. They do have a wonderful online scheduler, that shows you all the times available for any given day and you can do it completely online and through text. I got my eye exam, some really cool frames and still spent a healthy chunk of money above my groupon. But, glasses are one of those things you wear a lot and it's worth putting the extra money into for something you'll be happy with. They have super cheap frames all the way up to super expensive name brand designer frames. Plus, they print your prescription out so you can shop online... not that I would ever do that, of course lol. I've also had to come in here to get my frames adjusted and they do it on site in just a few minutes. This Pearle Vision is not a bad place to go for one of life's necessary evils. read more

The doctor that checked my eyes was outstanding. Once I got downstairs things did not go as well. I live on social security and wanted to use frames from the time before last. The young man who was assisting me said that he was new at this and that was more than obvious. I thought the price was quite high. When I came home, I found my receipt for the previous glasses. The price for lenses is 98.65% higher than it was 2.4 years ago. I had done business with Pearl for a number of years. I will not be going back. read more

This place is soooo unorganized. Ordered my contacts at my appointment. They told me that they were going to call me when they came in and it should take around 2 weeks. I've never had contact take that long but I figured no big deal. 3 weeks later still no call. I called them and they tell me the contacts aren't in yet. I called back the next week they say the contacts still aren't in yet. So I physically go down to the store and ask them where my contacts are. They tell me that the girl who ordered my contacts forgot to submit the order so they were never actually called in. But they still took the $60 out of my bank account to pay for the contacts they never ordered. I got fed up and asked them to send my prescription to Sam's Club and specify that it be sent to the one on El Camino Alto. I waited a few days and called Sam's Club and they tell me they still don't have my prescription. I call back Pearle Vision and they insist that they sent it so I nicely request that they please send it again. Next day Sam's Club still doesn't have my prescription. So I go to Sam's Club and ask that they check again and then call Pearle Vision they insist that they have at this point sent it 4 times. I asked them did you send it to the one on El Camino Alto? They said of course that's where you asked us to send it. I asked them to read off the fax number that they sent it to and it's the fax number for the Sam's Club on the other side of town. I give them the correct fax number and they insist that it's wrong. I insist that they actually send it and just stop jerking me around. I eventually got my contacts from Sams Club same day for HALF THE PRICE. I will never use Pearle Vision ever again and I recommend that nobody else uses it either. read more

I had an appointment at 3:40, and wasn't seen until a little after 4. Otherwise it was a great experience. I saw Dr. Linda Howell and I had a great experience. She was super personable and made me feel really comfortable. Once downstairs, the tech that I saw was very helpful. Although she was saying foreign things to me as this was my first time ever getting glasses, so I wish she would have used more layman terms. She asked if I would like to browse frames on my own or if I would like her help. I opted for her help and I chose a pair within minutes. I'm very pleased with my overall experience and left in a good mood. read more

First they "couldn't figure out how" to run my insurance so I had to pay out of pocket. Then, they said they could write me a check once I showed THEM how to run my insurance (which I've had for 20 years). So I go in after 4 weeks to get my check and they don't even have it. Turns out they hadn't even processed or delt with the check over the 4 weeks. So finally they saw to that I got it the next day. Never use Pearle Vision, they are a nightmare to deal with. read more

I had an eye exam and a pair of glasses at this location in January 2016. For more than 2 years, I've felt this strain in the back of my head when I wear my glasses. I finally got around to re-examine my eyes this weekend and turn out Pearl Vision OVER corrected my right eye - supposedly-1.5, Pearle prescription was -2.5. Therefore the strained feeling. You don't mess with people's eyes like that!!!!!! Guys, if you can't do the job right, get the f**k outta the business! So pissed! read more

First off if you are considering the purchase of a living social, daily deals, or any other forms of "deals" for Pearl Vision DO NOT purchase it. Their glasses are EXTREMELY overpriced. After receiving my eye exam (included in my deal) I went downstairs to pick out my glasses and was shocked when I realized that the cheapest glasses that I could purchase where $139.99 and they were very outdated. If I wanted the more stylist glasses I was going to pay in excess of $200.00 and if that wasn't bad enough the sales person then told me that my single vision lenses where going to be $103 on top of the frames. My mom has bifocals and they told her it was going to be $230 for her lenses. After hearing this we both paid out of pocket for our eye exams (which was $58) and requested a refund for our living social deals. We then took our prescriptions to a different eyeglass place and found the exact same glasses that were at Pearl Vision for $289.99 for $79.99 and my lenses where $33. read more
