After seeing the add on tv I decided to go and buy a new eyeglasses! Well I use bifocal glasses I gave them my prescriptions né my old glasses . When the new came back was not good , I was having headache and felling nausea . When ask the lady at the store she told me that my old prescription had same different things and the new one didn't not . Oh well I pay the extra $$$$$ to get another one with the same thinks as the old . Nobody explain to me the differences etc between lenses . Well days, weeks pass nobody call me to tell if my glasses was ready . Today after 23 min waiting on the phone the told me that my new glasses are there . I'm not planing on going back to buy any glasses on that place again !

“I am still a fan of the prices, the lenses and service at Eyemart Express, but I wanted to add that after a year of use, the frames on both my glasses broke.”

10 Stars! That's what I'd give Dr. Sherri Reed, Tom Harris, and the rest of the staff at Harris…read moreOpticians if I could. My first experience with them was almost 10 years ago (I'd have posted this review long ago, but only recently got on to Yelp). I managed to scratch my cornea. It had been a couple of days and the pain was getting worse. It was late Saturday and my regular eye doctor was closed. My wife, who had been going to Dr. Reed for several years, had Dr. Reed's cell phone number and convinced me to let her call her. Dr. Reed agreed to meet me at the office on _Sunday_morning_ on her way to church. (Really, Sunday morning!) She examined me and started treatment. She warned me that if it didn't work, I'd have to go to a laser eye specialist to have the divot in my cornea mended. Her treatment immediately reduced the pain, the worst I think I have ever felt in my life. Over the next 3 months of close monitoring by her, the injury mostly repaired itself. Today, I'm only slightly aware I ever had such a painful injury and my vision has fully recovered. But that's not all. A couple years after the incident above, I was rear-ended on the freeway. I was hit so hard that the sunglasses I was wearing (which I had not purchased at Harris), despite hooking around my ears, were thrown off my head and thoroughly pretzeled. These glasses were special to me. I had worn them when I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. I took them to Harris on the off chance they could effect a repair. Tom Harris took them into the back workshop. About 20 minutes later he returned and my glasses were almost as good as new. I still wear them to this day. Oh, and how much did this miracle cost? Nothing! A freeby for a client. In addition to these two specific stories, I have only ever received kind, knowledgeable, expert care and advice from all the staff at Harris Opticians. If for some reason the prescription or the adjustment for my lenses/frames isn't right, they'll fix it for a year at no extra charge. (Ask them for the details of the warranty.) Perhaps there are cheaper places to get your eyes examined and glasses made (though I don't think their fees are at all unreasonable), but I'm willing to pay for the outstanding 10-star service I've always gotten from them. For the record, I have absolutely no association with Dr. Reed or Harris Opticians other than being a VERY satisfied customer.

I love on the other side of town now and I'm happy to make the trek every year.

I made an appointment for 9:00 AM, which is right when they open, and check-in went very smoothly, and I was in the office with Dr. Humphrey within about five minutes. I was informed at the outset that they don't take my insurance, but realistically that's not their fault at all, and I was fine with paying the $144 for the consultation and scanning. Dr. Humphrey was truly great -- she has a very kind and calm manner, and is soft spoken and gentle with administering the various optical devices. It was clear quite early on that my eyes were perfectly fine, which was welcome news, as I have a family history of glaucoma, and almost all of my family members wear glasses. I've had occasional day-long blurriness in one of my eyes for quite a few years (i.e. since *before* my last eye exam in 2014), but while Dr. Humphrey couldn't say definitively what the cause might be, she made a number of simple suggestions to see if those will help, and to return if the problem persists. Finally, while my visit wasn't very long, it felt like the staff were all friendly and harmonious. There was just a good vibe among them, and I'm guessing that's a perk of it being a fairly small practice. Overall, I was fine with paying out of pocket for a good experience, and will recommend my contacts-wearing girlfriend switch over to this optometrist as well.
