This place is excellent for eyebrow threading only. Come here all the time to take care of my eyebrows and they always have skilled staff available. Don't need appointment, they take walk ins and they normally see me right away. They're affordable and the ambience is quiet and clean. Now as for their Brazilian service, don't come here. Tried it once because they were having a promotion, however I regretted it right after. The lady wasn't nice at all, didn't do anything to alleviate the pain and the wax she was using was way too hot. I asked if they carried hard wax( since that is the best one) and they did not. I like coming to this place for eyebrow threading because they're consistent (and it helps that I live close by). People who work there are generally nice. They won't really make conversation unless you start it, but they're professional. They get a lot of regulars and a lot of students come from Cal State Fullerton. With eyebrow threading, it's pretty quick, but I like that they aren't super rushed to just get the job done. I usually just ask for a "clean up" and I like that they keep the shape of your eyebrows while not making it super thin. This place is pretty much my go-to and I always grab their coupon deals for eyebrow threading. I've had my eyebrows threaded by a different person on all of my visits (at least 10 that I can remember) and I've been happy with all but one experience. My eyebrows were thinned a little too much but the next time I went in I saw someone new and she fixed it up. The lady that helped take care of me was nice and helped me get my Brazilian done in about 10-15 minutes. The wax was on a bit of the hotter end, more than what I've been used to. It was not a bad first time experience getting my Brazilian here but I'm debating on coming back for future waxed based on my previous experiences at other places. I went in for a Brazilian wax. My appointment was at 1 but the gal/owner who was does it, wasn't even in yet. 15min later she showed up. Sadly, this happened again the next time I came in. Though, this time I waited 30min for owner to show. I found this to be very rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional!!!!! I should have been done, paid and home by the time she came. Not the 1st time this has happened with her. I don't know her name but it's the lady who also cuts hair there. She seems to be in charge but she is by far the worst at eyebrow threading. Frankly this review is overdue. I've been checking into Sameera's Salon since it opened back in 2010. There are so many things that I could say but the two things that stand out to me the most are the prices and the quality of service that come with it. The owner Sameera is a one of a kind person. She will remember your name from the day she meets you. She has a sense of humor and a way to make you feel like you're a part of this family. She is kind and makes the experience of going to this salon remarkable. The number one reason I come in here is for the hair cuts by Maryam!!!! My entire family all go to her to get their hair cut and they've never been less than satisfied. She is fantastic. She is better than any other person I've ever been to for a hair cut. I am not exaggerating. I always thought I couldn't do anything with my hair except straightening it. Maryam found a way to make my curls work. To top off her work she is a profound and honestly wonderful human being. She gives you advice afterwards on how to treat your hair and keep it healthy. The price of the hair cut is 15 dollars. I mean cmon. It's the price of SuperCuts with the quality of any downtown Fullerton salon (if not better). I love Maryam and trust her with my life. You can go to anyone for the eyebrows. I swear I left my 5 star rave for Sameera, her technicians, & salon..But I guess it didn't post? Well, I have no problems reposting because I absolutely AHHHDORE Sameera! I happened to stumble upon Sameera & her salon while perusing an email (from Groupon? LivingSocial? Can't remember honestly.) of brazilian bikini waxes. I have been a pretty loyal Wax Candy customer for the past couple years but I have been finding it a lot harder to make it to Downtown (not to mention remember to bring quarters for the very limited meters.) LA. The name of the salon is what caught my eye and immediately made me check Yelp; they have glowing reviews! I knew that at a heavily discounted rate with almost 500 reviews and a 4 star rating, I had nothing to lose, er well, you know what I mean ;P I made an appointment easily with a phone call and a quick chat to let them know that I had purchased a deal online. Once I was at the appointment I was instructed to check in via the monitor and fill out a form. Within minutes I heard a "Q! Is there a Q here?" I knew it was me because there were only 3 of us and only I looked up. I was greeted by none other than Sameera herself! She quickly asked me how to pronounce my name because she was afraid of butchering it; little did she know, a lot of people/friends call me Q. :) I won't sugar coat this, to this day there have only been 4 people prior to Sameera to have seen my "goodies" -I'm not even one of the 4!! I don't want to scare anyone away because this place seems very nice for eyebrow threading. - She was 20 minutes late for my appointment because as I was told "She is here, but she's eating in the back." (She burped through the whole wax. yay.) -Does not double dip AND uses gloves. -Most PAINFUL wax I've had by far. Now I'm the type of person who can have a conversation through a wax. I was trying not to talk so she wouldn't catch on that I was tearing up! Best part she was giggling at my discomfort at some points. She did the smallest sections. Missing the paper most of the time sometimes twice. Then apply wax and doing it all over again in the same spot!! Honestly I'm not a bikini wax pro, but I'm used to only a few strips, pulled right, and a pleasant return of my business. I do NOT understand the reviews for women who write "I got a Brazilian here and it was awesome, but don't get threaded because it hurts!!" WTF? Are you mental? Threading it like plucking (so there's no pulling/stretching of the skin which is better for you in the long run), so the type of pain associated with plucking is the type of pain associated with threading--if you have sensitive skin with nerves close to your skin, ANYTHING is going to hurt. They did a good job threading my eyebrows, which is better than the last time I went to Ziba in Santa Ana (my eyebrows came out lopsided--NOT okay) I got my first brazilian wax here with Rhonda and OMG is that a harrowing experience; but she made me comfortable, told me some funny stories and kept me chatting through the pain. If you're going in for your first Brazilian, just a couple of tips: it hurts exactly as much as you think it does, not any more, and definitely not any less. Make sure you exfoliate your nether-parts the night before so that it's easier for the wax to grab on as close to the root as possible. You can try to use lidocaine to numb your skin beforehand, but you're still going to feel that pain nonesense. And listen to Rhonda (she was AMAZING for a first timer, so be sure to book with her) while she is taking care of you because her instructions are the difference between HOLY MOTHER OF EVERYTHING HOLY THAT'S THE MOST AWFUL THING I HAVE EVER FELT IN MY LIFE and a simple OHHH MY GOD And now... baby smooth. ;) haha read more

This was my first time, and Carrie left me with a TON of tiny (and some long) stray hairs. Like, I'm COVERED- really unhappy. I waited the two weeks without shaving and my hair was quite long enough. She took about 2 seconds to look for stray hairs but failed to mention that I had a million of them. If for some reason some of my hair was way shorter than the rest so that she couldn't get it, why couldn't she explain to me what happened instead of hurriedly explaining exfoliation (so I barely could keep any of it straight) and rushing me out the door? Seems more to me like her sloppy 5 minute job broke the hairs instead of pulling them out. Thought I was happy until I got home and took a look. It looks like I did a poor job shaving, so I won't be back.. not worth the pain or even the $29 (with a check in offer). It also seemed like she was trying to make me comfortable but at the same time it seemed like she really didn't want to be there.. something was throwing me off. She literally had me out of there in 5 minutes and was just slapping the wax strip around.... I barely even had a second to gasp in between rips but I was thankful for it just going by quickly at the same time. I thought she was just really good at what she did until I came home and saw.. this. I really should get my money back but I'm too shy so I'll be passive aggressive and just write this upset yelp review. :( Update: Just FYI I was blistered and sensitive to touch for about a week straight. I was so excited to come to Sameera's, all these 5 star reviews made me have super high expectations. I was expecting eyebrow excellence. I was planning on taking advantage of the free eyebrow threading and $12 mani/pedi...my cheapass couldn't believe that price!! So I went over there with a couple of my lady coworkers after work. It turns out there is only one girl who does the mani/pedi . So she didnt have time to do my nails, it's all good though. I ended up getting the free eyebrow threading. It was quick. It was painful. She gave me a cottonball with alcohol to wipe myself. I gave her $3 tip. And that was it! The threading experience was just eh ok for me. Make sure you print out the deal from the website, because when I got there they said the mani/pedi was $15 not $12, but then my coworker printed out the ad from the website so they had to give it to her for $12. I don't really understand all the hype for this place. But perhaps it's because there are not so many threading places in orange county. Sameera herself is probably the nicest lady you'll ever meet...but it just wouldn't be enough for me to make a trip out here for eyebrow threading. I had pretty high hopes due to all the great yelp reviews. I think it's just good enough. They get the job done Sameera and her staff was nice and the place is very clean.. I made a appt same day. They were pretty booked up. I came in for brazilian and the free eyebrow threading. the waxing was done very quick and efficient but hurt like hell. atleast it was quick so the pain was bearable but i think she is quick cuz she puts wax and rips out in large mass rather than little by little. Her touch felt rough but i guess thats what you get for getting things done quick. I gave minus 1 star because the small portion of hair i wanted to keep was lopsided (lol is this tmi? hahaha) and the eyebrow threading girl left a few stray hairs and didn't trim/ clean up my hair that well. i had to trim and pluck some more when i got home. hey atleast it was free. i went here since it is very close to my house than the usual place i went in LA. so i guess i will come back here if i want to get waxing done but when it comes to eyebrows, i will stick with the place i go to where they wax, thread,pluck, AND trim for Cheap! read more

I am not one to write posts and if I was, i'd like to write positive ones, but I thought this would be extremely helpful to Yelpers- especially to the ones who bought or are thinking of buying the Groupon Deal for eyebrows and eyelashes. Eyelashes: So the only thing i saw on Yelp about SAMEERA's flash eyelashes were photos posted. I thought "Hey, coudn't possibly be too bad if there 's no negative reviews about it at least, right?" Wrong. Dead, wrong. I bet there isn't a review because people don't come here for Eyelashes and are physically blinded after their experience to write it. Okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration but continue on to read why I've written this. Angie did my eyelashes. A very hard-working Asian lady with a stern face. Apparently the person who was suppose to do my eyelashes left early on a whim but Angie was available and I had a Groupon that HAD to be used all at once. Angie herself wasn't horrible. She may not have told me what to expect until it was too late but she at least gave instructions and listened to me when I asked her to trim it or layer more eyelashes on. However, the experience itself is horrifying. I sat tearing up and having to dab my eyes through the entire experience. You have to keep your eyes open because the glue takes some time to dry and if it gets anywhere on your skin it burns. At one point this happened and i cried buckets as Angie did her best forcing my eyes open by squeezing the lids to wipe it away but with any glue that's meant to be permanent that means a lot of scrubbing and rubbing. So imagine this, I'm sitting there crying a river but told not to touch my eyes or close them because the glue will spread and having someone force my eyes open scrubbing them with a Q-tip. Poor Angie, I could tell she did not want to do this because she knew how much pain I was in. Apparently, most places have a mini fan or air compressor to help the drying process but SAMEERA did not provide her with one. I went to the counter to pay literally crying because my eyes were stinging all over. In the car I had to pull some of the eyelashes off in the corners of my eyes because the false eyelashes were too harsh against my skin irritating it and making it impossible to blink without a searing pain. I wear false eyelashes almost everyday (sometimes layers of false eyelashes) so I am VERY use to having things on top of my eyes but their eyelashes felt unbearable. It's been a day and a I still can't blink too much without being in tears. Eyebrows: I've been threading my eyebrows for 9 years now from several different "threaders" and I have to say that whatever this place does it hurts, a lot. I read reviews on Yelp about how others found this place painful and was skeptical. I'm not a skeptic now. It's Painful. The way the thread ran across my eyebrows felt like i was getting sliced. There was a lot of times where the thread ran across my eyelids unnecessarily pinching it too. The only redeeming factor to this experience was Marium. Marium threaded my eyebrows and she was VERY thorough. They are super clean and shaped, a little thin but hey, I did ask for it to be thinner (so if you ask for this be very specific). She is hygienic using hand sanitizer between every customer and her presence made you feel at ease. I don't suggest this for new customers. The price is tempting but the experience is scarring. I've had people thread my eyebrows with the same precision without the slicing pain. I would never thread my eyebrows again if this was my first time. However, this isn't and if I was nearby and needed my eyebrows cleaned I would come back. Pain is momentary. Why 2 stars? I can tell Marium and Angie are hardworking employees trying their best to satisfy their client's needs. To me they deserve at least 2-3 stars, however, this isn't a review about them but the company they work for. The establishment is not welcoming and does not seem very organized. Originally only went here because of the deal on Yelp, and started returning after my first visit. The only thing I have got done is eyebrow threading, which has always been a good experience. Usually threading places make me feel on uncomfortable - the people seem rather harsh, and sometimes forget that they are actually working on someone's face. At Sameera, no matter who was in at the time, they always do a great job. They're patient and my eyebrows always come out perfect (without hurting too much). If you are not a woman, you probably don't want to continue reading. Still here? Good. Now, let's start this review by saying that I am old, and have been with my husband for 7 years. Gotta feel sorry for him, because female grooming has been few and far between. Honey, I was bringing bush back! One of the biggest reasons (other than me being lazy) is that I can't shave my bikini line or I get horrible ingrown hairs, but I have never had an issue with waxing. Go figure. So I signed up for Groupon, and after a few days, Sameera's came up - a Brazilian wax and eyebrow threading for $15. $15??? That was a steal! I had been wanting to try threading for a while, and Valentine's day was coming up (boom chika bow wow) so it was a total win win for me. I called up and made the appointment, easy enough. They were very accommodating with my schedule, which was nice. When I arrived, the salon was sparse, but clean. Sameera greeted me and asked me to sign in. I had a few minutes to get caught up on some chick mags, and then she brought me back to the room. She introduced herself and shook my hand. I dropped trou, hopped on the table and she began. Very clean, donned gloves, used a new stick every time, and pointed that out, which I found to be a nice touch because when someone is ripping hairs out of your nether region you sometimes forget to pay attention. She also helped me by placing my hands to tighten the skin (makes it hurt less?) and chatted to me the whole time. She is very, very nice and makes you feel at ease, even though she's up close and personal with your most private areas. The whole experience was quick, thankfully. After, she sprays you with oil to get the wax residue off, and then gives you aloe to help with the irritation. She was very careful to prevent any cross contamination. I got dressed again, and she escorted me back to the front for my threading, and gave me a hug! So sweet - I guess once you have spread your legs for someone, you are on hugging terms. Haha. My eyebrow threading was done by Mitu (I think? Forgive me for any misspellings). This was also quick, and a new experience. I'm not going to say it was as painful as a Brazilian, but it was more painful than maybe an eyebrow wax. BUT there are benefits: 1. I don't have a shiny bald patch above each eyebrow, and 2. Unlike the last brow wax I had, I still had my both entire eyebrows. They were perfectly shaped with all the straggly hairs gone and not too thin! I also had a small amount of redness, but nothing compared to the major irritation I usually get. I came here to get my wedding mehndi done and I would only recommend Sameera to anyone else if they're willing to put up with someone unprofessional and rude. She is VERY quick though and can do decent designs which is the only reason I hired her. Maybe it was my fault for proceeding with her in the first place. My bad experiences: I wanted a trial (a small pattern, not actual wedding design) just to see how the mehndi color would come out/last. Sameera acted as if this was a very strange request and was rude when I showed up (which she forgot about - I had to reschedule since they make the mehndi a day ahead of time only when they know you're coming). Sameera quoted me prices/availability incorrectly. She told a relative of mine (at that same time) completely different prices/options. When confronted about it, she claimed she never stated those rates to me -she did seem genuinely surprised though which was weird, but I had written them down in front of her. She forgot about my wedding mehndi appointment! I called her the day I was supposed to get it done just to make sure she knew where to go (even though I had already given the address). She argued with me that the appointment wasn't until the next day, and I had to send her emails that we exchanged to prove she was wrong and we indeed had an appointment. She said she had to be at the salon for someone's waxing appointment during that time. What?? I tried to explain to her that she needed to keep our appointment seeing as how she had the deposit already, it's my wedding, and we confirmed it a long time ago. She sarcastically and laughingly said, "oh how professional of you." I mean, really? She showed up late anyway and brought a less experienced and slower mehndi artist. They completely rushed and did opposite sides of my arms and feet so nothing matched and the other artist threw a design book on my already done, wet mehndi :O. There's no fixing that. Sameera never apologized and took the full payment for less of a design even though she came late and left early. I should note that I did not ask for any kind of discount. I just wanted to be done! I would not hire her again unless I was completely desperate and every other mehndi artist in the area was booked. I would pay more and go to Ziba and sit in their salon for 3 hours and not have to deal with the attitude and lack of professionalism. Note: Sameera can be extremely charming when she wants to be and I can see how some people may like her, but for some reason she was terribly rude to me most of the time. Don't get your Brazilian Wax here! My cousin and I both had the most PAINFUL experience.. NOTE: My pain tolerance is very high and I've been waxing for over 4 years... -Every application of the wax was SO FRIGGEN hot... -The pull was quick but felt like she was ripping off my skin. Not even joking. -I'm left with bumpy skin. Not smooth at all.. - I've never screamed so much before. The pain was too hard to bear.. My cousin had to stop halfway through.. I was a trooper and survived a very traumatizing experience :(( +One star for the cleanliness (no double dipping) +Half a star for the cheap price... which was not even worth the painful experience. This place is the BEST for ALL your waxing needs. Let's start off with: PRICE: BEST PRICE AROUND! I have searched, and trust me I have searched, EVERYWHERE for a place that offers the price that Sameera's does, and I have yet to find it. Sameera's prices on waxing (all waxing) CANNOT be beat! Ambiance:The other salons with similar prices as Sameera's is very dirty and grundgy, in a bad neighborhood. However, Sameera's is located next to several universities, including CSUF. The waxing room is very clean and the waxing tools look clean as well. Service: Because of the good price and clean rooms, Sameera's is usually FULLY BOOKED. Be sure to make any of your waxing appointments in advance or be prepared to wait a long time (except for eyebrows). I can't remember all the staffs names, but I really like Sameera herself. Overall: This is THE BEST waxing place I've been to. For both price and cleanliness of location. Good for first timers and veterans! read more

Clean, quick, and worth the money! I come here to wax my legs, and I have to admit, the price is just right. It's $20 to wax, and I usually leave $4-5 tip so for $25 to wax your legs, I consider that a steal. It is true that upon entering the workers can be intimidating. The first time there, they had like 5-6 workers just standing there and all they did was stare at me as I checked in on their touchscreen computer.. A little scary, but the second time I went, they were busy with their clients so I didn't get the stares like the first time. Other than that, they do a pretty good job! I love how at the end they actually clean up the waxed area and put some sort of oil on it to calm your skin down. Some places don't do that! I also like how they offer to wax your toes (when you do your legs) as well. A service that's usually an additional cost that is offered for free? Love it! Oh, must not forget to mention, they have a lot of good deals like the yelp offers, but they're for first time customers only! All of their other services are really cheap too, and I can only imagine how well those services are too. I'll eventually try their other waxes once I'm done exploring other salons, but for now, this is my go to place strictly for legs :) read more

I'm absolutely in love with this place!!! I came about a week ago to get a Brazilian done by Sameera. I purchased the groupon deal, and its money well spent! A little background: Before this groupon deal, I swore I would never go back to waxing after I tried sugaring. I fell in love with sugaring, but I couldn't help myself when the groupon deal 3 for $35 (I think) came on. I've had waxing done before and maybe it was the place I went to but I didn't really love it. The day of: Sameera was so nice and made me feel really comfortable! While she was waxing me, she was telling me some care tips and things to do in the future. She was really sweet! I noticed that she never double dipped (which is a big no no!) and was very meticulous. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends because it's so affordable, and I walked out very happy. read more
